Unfortunately the book arrived scratched and seems used. The illustrations are cute, I really like Britta Teckentrup's style. I find the title a bit misleading. I assumed this book would be a brilliant way to teach my little boy the concept of opposites, however the presentation of big and small remains only on a conceptual level which is not adequate for babies. The illustration of opposites should be contrasted visually and concrete to fit babies' level of cognition.

What a lovely, simple book by one of the most prolific illustrations to date. The contains wonderful comparisons between small and big things in nature, introducing the idea of relative size. The bright colours with bold contrast, in a hardback book, make it the perfect book for little hands!

Very disappointing. While the pictures in this book are nice, the book itself does not do what it says on the cover. I would expect a Big book to show a big and a small version of the same item in comparison. However, this book is much abstract than that and entirely unsuitable for the toddler/child audience it is aimed at. Examples of Big vs Small include: apple pip vs tree, shoal of little fish vs shark, birds vs earthworm(?!), etc. All of this is far too conceptual to be useful.
