Read For Free Dark Matter Heart (Cor Griffin Bloodsuckers, #1) Formulated By Nathan M. Wrann Shared As Visual Format
only reason I gave this bookwas due to the last two chapters picked up, So I will give the next book a chance, The whole CSI angle was nifty, I liked how it explained why certain things worked on vampires, I have yet to read another book that has done this, So one star for that, I also liked that it explained the mirror/photo/silver thing, Clever.
I was not, however, impressed with Caitlyn and that whole fiasco, There was no friendship that escalated further, . . it was just I like how she looksoh look there's a gravitational pulland oh BAM! Sure I believe you, . . when I should be running screaming due to the logical side of things, And oh yeah, hey, I like you now that you found me in a park, . . oh turn me into a vampire!
Somehow she decided that her boyfriend was dangerous so she shouldn't be near him, But does she go home No, . . What. The. Hell. Then of course, her boyfriend goes all crazy and decides he's going to force himself on her, I'm sorry, but I just didn't get that vibe from him, Sure he was an asshole, but he didn't come across as a rapist, If that were the case I doubt he would have waited so long to get in her panties, Which it made pretty clear earlier in the book that he was kind of pressuring her about it but hadn't been successful,
I was also irritated that he saved Caitlyn, I'm not saying she deserved to die, but I think it would have been better had she not been turned, Would give him some much needed character,
I was not fooled by the teacher, Was well aware who and what he was as soon as he became part of the picture,
The only surprising thing this book had for me was: who The Creeper was, Because there was no suspicion thrown on anyone, Though it would have been a nice twist had it been him all along, for me it had to much twlight vibes This book is 'FANGTASTIC' !!! I am sooo happy that i read this one, What starts off as a teen / superhero movie with a new guy in town , first day at school , friends with a geek , messing with a bully and crushing on the bully's girlfriend kind of thing turns into a fast paced action thriller.
Wooohoo what a ride ! Nathan Wrann is awesomeness in the making, He has this vision , this story that is driven with so many elements, And he manages to bring it out in the most uniquest of ways, The characters in this book , though not many are just sooo real, Cor or Cordell , the main lead is so unique, I mean , i hav'nt seen a guy who is in constant turmoil with himself act so cool , calm and collected, He is a loner , wants to be invisible but is very rational in his approach and i dont know i can just keep on going with his various attributes.
Dark matter heart is the story of Cor , who moves into a new town with his mom in hopes of a fresh and a new beginning.
But things dont go according to plan as there is a serial killer on the lose , And somehow its all connected to Cor, Who is this killer and what are his motives Well , you will have to read the book to find that out,
The book is a mixture of sorts , it's got action , humour , mystery , romance all put into one, And the end , well lets just say that its not the end but only the beginning as we have just skimmed the surface of Nathan Wrann's paranormal world.
There are too many unaswered questions and with the way things concluded in this book , there are too many events just waiting to unfold.
I cannot wait to read the second book in this series and see what is next in store for Cor , his family and friends.
Note : There were some funny one liners in this book as told by Cor but i had to share this one
Thats what happens when word gets out that a serial killer is in the neighborhood.
Everyone locks their doors , closes their shutters and stays inside after dark, Nine months later the local maternity ward will likely be busy, Hea y'all so I finished Dark Matter Heart by Nathan Wrann and what a cool story to set off a series, The book is centered around Cordell Griffin a lost and withdrawn teenager looking for his place in life but his debilitating sickness keeps him weak and closed off from the world.
When his mom leaves LA for the north western solitude and climate Cor prays it can bring a new fresh start, only to find out he's been followed by an unknown menace.
Cor quickly makes
a friend with forensics geek Taylor who consumes himself with the unsolved murder cases mounting around the town, Caitlyn catches Cors' eye in their shared art history class and the rest is a barrage of teenage angst and frustration, The characters in this book are edgy and dark, they harbor the true brutality some teens fight through in high school just trying to fit in.
There is no want for action scenes or mystery in this book, Brutal murders create an outlet for Cor to discover his past, come to terms with his present and look forward to his future, Cor maybe different but he is just a guy wanting for friends and no matter what hand he is played he takes in consideration how it will affect his friends and family.
Taylor and Caitlyn provide excellent support to their new found friend proving that it doesn't matter who you are as long as your you friends are out there you just have to let them into your life.
I can't wait to see what happens next for Cor, Taylor, and Caitlyn in the next installment, out offor Dark Matter Heart grab this fun easy read and jump on the ride through Dark Matter, This was a cool, fun read, I really dug the "scientific" explanation of the vampire's abilities and traitsthey were a little different than the norm and didn't rely so much on the supernatural, which made them interesting and refreshing.
The author's use of language was colorful, and had a lot of character and personalitythe way a book targeting young adults should, There were a lot of nuances that I appreciated as well: referring to the football players as the numbers on their shirts rather than their names, as if to indicate how their identity in school is more represented by their presence and achievements on the field than who they are as actual people.
I also liked his approach to some of the vampire clichesit showed creativity, while staying true to the myths and legends, The popculture reference were well placed and delicately executed, making the story relevant without bombarding the reader with a slew of trendy names and titles.
As a big fan of the new "Teen Wolf" series on TV, I felt the book possessed a similar flavor and tone, which I really enjoyed.
And of course, the twist ending was very cool and unpredictable, I didn't see it coming and was very pleased by the reveal,
Now, on to booksamp, . . Good book. It started out a little slow, but allinall, good! I liked the characters a lot, especially the connection between Taylor amp Cor, I enjoyed this nice change of normal vampire stories, This is a sitelink Reading Good Books review,
In compliance with FTC guidelines, it should be noted that I received the book for free,
I came across this book while browsing several book blogs, I saw the authors post saying that he was willing to give readers a free copy of Dark Matter Heart in exchange for a review.
I figured, why not If you want your own copy, I will post details under the comments,
Dark Matter Heart is the first book in the Cor Griffin Bloodsuckers Series, Our hero is Cordell “Cor” Griffin, a seemingly ordinary high school student, Together with his mother, Jane, he moves up to the Pacific Northwest from Los Angeles, California to start anew, New neighborhood, new school, new friends,
He meets Taylor on his first day of school, He also meets a pretty girl named Caitlyn, Unfortunately, being the new kid in school, he becomes the target of the bullies, Things do not become easier for Cor when strange things begin to happen, Certain people that Cor comes in contact with die, And they all have the same cause of death all were drained of their blood, Suspicions arise when it seemed coincidental that the murders start on the day Cor moved into town,
I do not have a good track record when it comes to Young Adult stories, Especially the Paranormal subgenre. Often, I am left unaffected or give up before I even finish it, But I thoroughly enjoyed this one, It was a quick read the story was fastpaced and direct, I like that it was very readable, the short chapters seem to add to the pace of the story, There are a couple of typos here and there but no big deal, I liked how the characters were written, Taylor mostly, I also liked Cor but it was easy for me to picture Taylor in my head,
The premise of the story is interesting, It is certainly different than most of the vampire fiction novels flooding the book shelves these days, I liked the ending a lot, It had a twist that I did not expect at all, I am interested on what will come next,
Given that is a new YA paranormal/vampire series, I understand that the author wants to establish his own canon of vampire history, e.
g. Stephenie Meyer and her sparkling “vampires”, And I respect that. I might not agree with all of it but at least the author is trying to set his series apart from the others, Although, I still found myself shaking my head at some parts,
There were bits of the story that were left openended, I figured since this is the first book in a series that those details will continue on to the next book, I hope so. Good continuity is always a plus for me, Overall, it is a good establishing piece for a series,

Recommendation: Fans of YA vampire fiction would find that this is right up their alley, If you want to take a break from Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, give this a try, .
