change is needed in her life, Paige and her two little boys move to California to start their life without her unfaithful exhusband.
She needs to know who she is as a woman and if she can give her boys what they need on her own She decides to join a book club in hopes of making new friendsones who wouldnt judge her.
The ladies in the book club become a much needed support as she tries to do so, She meets a wonderful man who treats her like a queen and helps her realize how amazing she is.
Through the books they read as a group, she finds the answers that will help her stay true to her beliefs.
Her new friends are there to give support and help increase her confidence as she moves forward, I love the way she describes what she thinks of her new friends”we were definitely an interesting tapestry of personalities, one Id come to treasure.
” Paige is a wonderful read! I thoroughly enjoyed every word! After having read Olivia, I wasn't sure how I felt about the character of Paige.
I saw her as this mousy little girl who was a stereotypical lates Mormon mom, But then I read Daisy and saw her stand up for herself against a very pissed off Daisy and thought "This chick just got a lot cooler.
" So I was much more excited to read Paige, looking forward to her viewpoint of that face off.

Paige is the story of a recently divorced mom who doesn't trust men, The more I read Paige, the more I kept thinking "Hey lady, get it through your thick skull that not all men are jerks!" Then, I hoped she'd realize that it was trusting herself that she needed.

My wife really connected with Paige's character because she fears some tragic accident where I die and she's left to be a single mom raising our kids.
And when she mentioned that, I realized how I've had those fears, No, there's no way I'd ever be a single mom, But it isn't impossible for me to be a single dad, And I just gotta say, that'd suck,

For me, there are a few themes in Paige, The first is priorities. She reminds me of Rachel's mom from

FRIENDS, who said "I went from my parents' house, to the sorority house, to my husband's house.
" Paige has only had her one boyfriend, who she married and divorced, She doesn't know anything else about relationships, it seems, And I feel that it is quite interesting as there are a lot of people out there who only have one relationship and don't know what it's like to breakup with someone or even be without a companion.

The other theme I saw was placing value on friendship, Paige gives the air of having no real friends prior to this story, I don't mean to say that cruelly, but rather, she just never placed an importance on friendship, My opinion is she had casual friends, She's not an unlikable person, she just never put much effort to her friends, The thing that kind of bugged me was that she recently moved back to California, And by the way it sounds, she was there less than three years previously, Why did she not have any friends from before She was active LDS and had no one in her old ward to whom she could turn There aren't married student wards in Southern California like there are in Utah.
In her defense, of course, she was doing her best to avoid her old life and anything that reminded her of her ex.
But again, she wasn't unlikable, Just a plot point I had an issue with, but didn't really detract from the story,

All in all, I did like Paige, I felt like she had a good story about gaining personal strength, And I definitely enjoyed the "she's got young kids" comments made toward Nick Jr, PBS, and chicken nuggets.
I stayed up late in the hopes this would be a good cheesy romance to distract me from the nutso world we know live in.
. . and no happy ending! Now I am tired and disappointed! Yeah! Paige arrived! After reading Olivia and Daisy I felt like a friend was waiting for me in the mailbox.
I had to pause the book I was reading to see Paige's side of the story, Can I just say I loved that she was called to Nursery I felt like I was the single mother rebuilding her life by sharing Paige's story.
I don't want to give any of it way, but reading to the last page was fulfilling, I wish this one came out first and would recommend starting out with this book if you haven't read the first two.
Then love Livy and Daisy too,

I also think it's a about time to shatter the myth about "If you get married in the temple you live some kind of charmed life.
" I have been eagerly anticipating this book for the last two months, I have to say that it was a decent read, but that I didn't find that it measured up to my favorite book in the series, Olivia.
I found that the main character, Paige, seemed to be stuck in the same place during most of the book.
Oliva, I felt, grew a lot during the process of the book, instead of staying fairly static in her personal outlook.
So, good but not great book, in my humble opinion, Grade: "B". Author Annette Lyon captures the story of Paige, a young, newly divorced mother with two little kids, with heartfelt emotion.
Paige needs a new start, for both herself and her two boys, Her husband cheated on her, divorced her, and to rub salt into the wound, has already remarried, Moving from Utah to California, Paige reinvents her life, She gets a new job, a new apartment, and joins a book club, It's been years since she's done anything for just herself, and reading books is one thing she's given up.
At the first book club meeting, Paige realizes she is quite different than the other ladies, but it doesn't take long before friendships develop.
Life takes an upward turn as Paige starts dating again, but life continues to be a rocky road.
She relies more and more on her new friends in the book club for support and wisdom as she searches for the real Paige, before her broken marriage and before the kids.

PAIGE is a companion book to DAISY amp OLIVIA amp ATHENA, other books in the Newport Ladies Book Club series.
You'll laugh a lot, cry a lot, and come away with a deeper appreciation for the friends in your life.
This is the third installment of the Newport Ladies Book Club series where we get to know Paige a little bit better.
I was really looking forward to reading about Paige based on the glimpse I had of her in the other books, Olivia and Daisy.

When I received instructions and information on reviewing this series, I was given the caution that not every book has a happily ever after ending.
They weren't kidding about that, This women's fiction series deals with very real life situations and we all know that real life is hard and not always happily ever after.
Even though I don't get that resolution and happily ever after ending, I always find a sense of satisfaction at the end of these books.
The characters face troubles and heartache, make mistakes of their own and struggle to find their way, They rely on friendships to help them through, These women find strength to continue on and face life, That is admirable.

Another thing I love is that each book happens at exactly the same time as the other books in this series.
All these women attend the book club together, each drawn there by the idea of meeting new friends, sharing a love of books and trying something new.
They come from different religions Catholic, Mormon, Greek Orthodox and Jewish yet they share a bond that carries each of them through the tough spots.

Paige's story is not unique, Unfortunately. I know Paige although her name isn't Paige, She is in my family, She is also the lady down the street, Paige's story will resonate and you will feel her emotions, I sure did.

If you haven't had a chance to pick up one of the Newport Ladies Book Club series, you should.
It doesn't matter where you start, each book will take you to the same place just with a different person.
This is a unique series unlike any I've read before, It's a fantastic idea. .
