not that I don't like Tagalog books, It's not like I don't like the culture of my country but this is, . .
It's a constant reminder of how the literacy rate here in the Philippines is slowly deteriorating,

What I don't like about this book as well as other books like this is that many readers call themselves 'bibliophiles' when the only thing they've ever read is this.
In my school, there are a lot of novels like this, It saddens me that the only thing my fellow thirteen year old classmates have actually read is this and other books of the erotica genre, I've never seen my classmates purchase meaningful books such as Harry Potter and the Hunger Games and for this instance, I would've been happy if they've read TFIOS.
But no, when I read English books, all they do is bash me and bash fricking Harry Potter not on my watch

I've read this and truthfully there's nothing really special about it.
I don't know why a lot of people like this, I only read this because I'm tired of all the buggery I was getting from the nasty little buggers I have for classmates, It made me laugh every once in a while, yes, But the thing is I learned absolutely nothing, The thing about books is, they teach you lessons and take you to another world/dimension/universe,

Don't tell me I'm culturebashing, because I'm not, I'm still proud of the works my fellow Filipinos have published and I look forward to reading them,

I'm not going to rate this, seriously nakakabobo siya honestly. it was badly edited. had a lot of wrong grammars pa,

i'm sorry if i don't eat up this story like you all do, it really didn't suit my taste, cliche talaga. oa pa. it makes me sad that other authors in wattpad, which in my opinion have a lot more talent and potential, are not being published, . . but this literary did.

. it makes me so sad, it actually reflects our generation's taste and state of mind,
this was a shallow book, totally wasted my time. i actually gave it another chance and read seasonbut no, it just killed my brain cells,

i'm sorry to the legions of fans of this story, we just have to agree to disagree, i'm sorry to the author as well, but please please please do proof read, i'm cheering you on to improve your writing skills! :

mourning my brain cells and praying for the author
Psicom is the publisher, I read some of their books and I guess this publishing house really aims for mainstream marketing it is confirmed again as I read "Diary ng Panget",

The cover art of Diary ng Panget is like a fanart, it's cute,

The only background I have is that it was popular in Wattpad and the author is younger than me, I don't expect too much from Wattpad but I think it's one of the places for budding writers so let's give a twirl!

When I read the first part, I think that its target is the mass readers.
It was a struggle for me to read this part as the persona shifts from Tagalog to English inconsistently, however, I got used to it eventually, The heroine has a kalog loose and friendly personality as if she's really speaking to you as her bestfriend, I got friends who talks like that in real life but when it is for reading lines like that, it's a let down, I continued reading it like I was the persona like I do in other novels who uses first person but I really can't, so I imagine that the persona was my girl friend.
Still, I can't picture her a Eya so I imagined another friendmy gay friend, and it fits! not that I discriminate, judge or anything but that's really how he talks about stuff when he's talking to me.
But that imagination was also obliterated as I go through some chapters thank God,

I think that I will really enjoy this if I hear Eya talking to me in real lifenot reading it, I also think that it'll fit as a script in television dramas or chick flick, You know, the commercialized kind of thing,

This is the epitome of a fiction with characters that represent the extremities of the personalities, Also, it's like a mixture of Asian dramas animés,

I'm rating this as an okay, I don't like it but I don't hate it, It's fine And this is a break for me reading law books for four consecutive weeks, I can't anymore!
Well, the preference will always differ to the ones who will read it.

I wish good luck to the writer, It took me awhile to be in the mood to read this, I can't get through the way it was written, I read a lot of Tagalog books but I was simply not in the mood to read this, But when I did, grabe laugh trip! Yes, it needs an editor and I think it would be better to edit out some of the parts, especially the corny ones.
Perhaps edit the unimportant stuff and publish it into a one bundle instead ofnovellas, Oh well, business.

Speaking of corny, namiss ko tuloy ang Boy Bawang!

I sometimes think that DNP is so similar to Meteor Garden/Hana Yori Dango, The girl being bullied, rich, pogi guy na habulin ng babae no matter how asshole he is and a gwapo male bestfriend who is also rich, Yeah, sounds familiar, no DNP was written in a very conversational way, like a friend telling a story about what happened to her while I was not with her.
It reads like that and I kind of miss the days when I was in college, just hanging out with my friends in between classes, I'm pretty sure I talked like Eya sometimes lol,

Also I don't get why there's a lot of flak about this, It's a funny book aimed for teens, it's meant to be that way, Were they expecting this to be mind blowing I think it's actually great that this became popular in WattPad, It means that a lot of teens/people are still reading even if they're always online, They're not just wasting away in Facebook, I think it's important that people are reading, regardless of what it is, They gain perspective from different points of view and learn new words, You cannot believe how many Tagalog words I learned from this book, Talapirin Tagalog ba yun

And kudos to the author, she's still in uni but a published author already,

I even ended up believing that her stories are that of charming and heartwarming quality, Denny's writing had been to much better times, However, I don't think it's the same case with this one,

I am really not satisfied with this book, Okay, as much as I want to give it a three or four star rating, no, Just no. This isn't the version that was posted on Wattpad but shards of it,

I am truly disappointed that a lot of parts got edited out, I think they're planning on doing a series for it,

What really annoys me most is that I think it wasn't even that proofread much, There are so many typos, for example the summary/snippet of the story at the back cover of the book misspelled "Sanford" to "Sandord", really

I'm a fan of the original Diary ng Panget not really this version.

This version, well, must have been very difficult for Denny the author to write or might I say edit, but it's completely different from the original, Although I'm still waiting for the third season, which she was writing before she announced they were making a book out of it, NOTE: This review is for the three books,

Here we go, . .

First point, I think its a little too informal for a book, I mean, it was the first time I had read a book with onomatopoeia as part of the description plus emoticons, When it was still in Wattpad, its acceptable, But now Uh, hello, editors! But, still its not that many so I can just bear with it,

Second point, there are some parts or scenes that should have been deleted, I think its not really important and are only filler for the story, Gosh. I paidpesos per book just to read those fillers They could have deleted those and made the story a little shorter and compile them into a single book.
But, hey! Its business, so what can I do

Third point, I dont like the materials used in this book, I dont know. Maybe Im just used with books that, even if theyre just paperbacks, the cover are still a little harder than this one, And the ink! Oh, the ink, It doesn't smell good. I really love inhaling the scent of my new books, but with this one Ugh, A big nono.

Fourth point, though some parts of the book can be deleted, there are also some parts where, even if theyre not that important, you just cant afford to lose them! They are so hilarious that I really laughed out loud though those parts appeared only on the third book.

Diyos ko day,
