has it all. She is the queen of the school, how else would it be But she dosn't feel that way, Lately she has been felling like she needs some where to belong, One day a mysterious stranger appears at school, Elana wants him to be hers, But he has a mysterious secret, and a brother who's out to kill him, Read the book to find out more!
I liked this book, The plot was good, and I didn't find any spelling errors, But the characters seemed kind of pathetic and self centered, especally Elana, I just can't relate to her, She just seem so ungreatful in the beginning of the book, I will admit she gets better as time goes on, But otherwise it was a great book, and I might check out the next one, I wanted to read this book because I absolutely love the show, Yes, I love it. There's just so much drama to not love it, And Ian Somerholder, I mean come on! But this book was such a disappointment, Keep in mind that I am avidly against Twilight, and this book was very similar, Elena becomes so obsessed with Stefan that she loses all selfcontrol, She's willing to die for him, accept almost immediately that he sucks the blood of little white doves, and flunk her classes because she can't stop thinking about him.
I can't stand it in these teen paranormal romances when the heroine is described as this amazingly strong and intelligent character, and then her actions reflect someone who is anything but.
Elena is so desperate to win Stefan's affections that she makes up a fake French boyfriend who sends her flowers just to make him jealous.
When he ignores her at a dance, she makes a stupid decision that puts her in severe danger, Um, girls, please do not go off on your own with a bunch of drunk guys to a cemetary, THIS IS NOT SMART! So basically, Elena does not seem like a great character at all, She seems flighty, spoiled, and entitled, This is not a good role model, and neither is Bella Swan,
Then there is Stefan, He likes to brood. The end.
Then there is Damon, He's the only thing I liked about this book, because he is the only character that acted true to form, He was supposed to be the rebel, and he acted that way,
This whole book seemed like a trainwreck of events to me, When I think back on the book I can't remember a single piece of the plot that kept my attention, Needless to say, I will not be reading the second book, The show did it better, guys, the show did it better,
I did not like it,
And that is for several reasons,
I just didn't like Elena, God she was a selfish little girl who thought she was the everything, She just assumed every fucking person in the world loved her,
I like books when I love the characters, That's the biggest pro in a book, Even when the story is crappy, I can still find myself reading the book because I love the characters so much,
But this This was so not worth my time,
And besides that how in earth can you write so many books with such pitifull characters That must be a serious gift.
I can't. It's really hard to read on if you hate the main character, I assume it's even harder to write about one,
But all hatred against our little Elena aside god,
After a few chapters, you just get bored with the story, It's all classic cliches, the one predictable line after the other,
And the whole lovetriangle with Stephan and Damon A sweet guy who truly loves Elena, and a murderous creep who insults everyone on a daily basis.
Even thought it's kind of weird it's also not an original story,
No surprise I quit halfway through the second book, feeling absolutely mad at everything and everyone, Okay, that's kind of a normal thing with books, but it wasn't because someone died or something in the book, It was because I found myself hating Elena with every second more and more,
And I was bored by all the cliches,
It was well written, all problems aside, but it wasn't enough, It didn't compare to all the hatred against Elena,
A waste of my time,
Pity. So this is one of the books where there is a girl and a boy, Girl meets boy, they fall in love but this story was switched around a tad bit,
In the story the main idea is girl meets vampire, That makes this book different apart from others,
First, Elena Gilbert. Your average next door neighbor whose parents died in a terrible tragedy from a car accident, Which strangely she was in too but survived because "someone" saved her, She has been depressed since, As soon as she laid eyes on Stefan Salvatore, the new boy, her emotions have been changing, She falls in love with him, but he goes for her enemy Meredith, . . she's not giving up just yet, He eventually starts talking to her and falls in love,
Mysterious "animal attacks" have occurred in Fell's Church, which is the town where we lay our scene, Elena found Stefan guilty! She finds out later on that the guy she loves is a vampire, She is confused as to whether or not she should stay with him or let him go and not take risks,
However, later on, she makes up her mind after he has proven that his love for her is too strong and can with stand anything, even his urges of drinking human blood.
I enjoyed the book, I found it a nice romance/ fantasy novel and as much as I would like to continue on with the series I'm starting to get more interested in realistic fiction novels instead of fantasies so sadly I for now won't continue the series but have already started reading another book.
Great books with a story that never seems to end, An intresting story with very sexy vampires that intrigue you the most but don't forget the what starts of grieve strinken Elena, who's just reccently lost her parents.
It's an intresting tale that really leaves you wanting to read more, I suggest this book to anyone who doesn't mind a little bit of difficult reading in return for an emotional teenage girl, a set of sexy, moody vampires and don't forget everything else supernatural all at once, with problem after problem it amazes me that between all this there's a pretty decent love triangle.
. . or maybe even a love square, who knows with this book, . . Actual .
The last book of this series is pretty much where everything goes wrong,
I do not watch The Vampire Diaries series, I only watched the pilot episode and didn't care much for it, It doesn't seem bad, even though the fact that it changed everything that happens in the book made me raise my eyebrows a little.
I gave this, because, even though it has problems like the instalove, the love triangles and the protagonist who simply can't decide what the hell to do with her amazing life and also seems to feel offended when people call her on her bullshit,It was an enjoyable reading.
The characters where interesting. The plot was interesting and kept you stuck in it,
Elena is well, . . a spoiled brat. A blonde, hot, perfect looking spoiled brat, It's going to annoy most people,i imagine, It goes away eventually as she learns she isn't the most important woman in the world, I've seen people call her a slut, but i don't see how a single person being attracted to another single person makes the first person a slut, but okay.
Everything went down in the revival series, but I won't get on that on this review,
Anyway,i recommend this book for vampire romance fans looking for a series to spend their time, BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE REVIVAL SERIES, Da completa profana dell'omonima serie tv, ho letto ogni genere di critica alla protagonista di questa saga eppure, l'Elena Gilbert letteraria mi ha colpita davvero tanto.
I really liked it, but I didn't like Elena's character in the beginning, She was too slutty and she instantly became obsessed with Stefan, And it really has too much changing for her she was a human, then a vampire, then a ghost, ghostly human and then human with special powers.
Otherwise, it was good and I enjoyed reading it, And, I have to mention it, I adore Damon's character, He is just awesome. This was really bad. The first book was terrible, however it turned out to be almost ok by the time I finished the series,
As many people have said, Elena is a horrible person, I cannot understand how come she has any friends, There is not enough time for her and Stefan to fall in love either, so the thought of them being separated doesn't really affect me.
Also, there is the forced lovetriangle with Damon, which is unnecessary and basically happens in the few moments right after Elena becomes a vampire.
. . some love, it lasted about, . .day.
I suppose I like Damon, but that's mainly because I've seen the show first, It is just too boring and shallow, and then goes overdramatic and downright pathetic by the end, I award that one star for Damon, at least he stays consistent as a character, I liked that we got a glimpse of his humanity, but then he stays true to himself, which means evil,
If you like an easy, vampire related read, go for it! However if you like quality and complex characters, pass! Before reading this book series, I became a fan of TVD series first.
That's the reason I bought this, Gladly, it turns out to be as beautiful as the series, Although there's differences from the books and the series, I liked it, It's really a must haves for 'Vampireaddict' person like me, It all started with Twilight, but the story of this is much different, Other kinds of vampire but equally fantastic in my eyes, .
