het die boek baie geniet, Heroine is a doctor who gets assigned to the air ambulance at her hospital, Her boss turns out to be her former friend and lifelong crush, who she grew up with, along with his sister, back at Ye Olde English Village of their childhood.
A lifelong friendship was destroyed after an explosion at the restaurant owned by heroine's father, which badly hurt hero's sister.
There was never any negligent finding against heroine's dad but hero and his family, who are the local lords of the manor, blackened the name of heroine's dad so much that he was unable to open a new restaurant and eventually had to move away under a black cloud of a destroyed reputation.
He has been miserable ever since and trying to make ends meet after every business venture he tried his hands at fails miserably.
Well it turns out that it was a competitor of the heroine's dad who sabotaged him and caused the explosion! In a very very very improbable turn of events, the psycho competitor is unmasked at the last minute a la Scooby Doo.
The hero and heroine can now have an HEA after hero breezily absolves heroine's dad of all wrongdoing.
I HATED this guy and his jerk family and could not see in a million years what the heroine saw in them unless she is a complete idiot, which she is.
The hero and his family spent years blackening the name of heroine's family and driving them out of town and making sure they would pay the rest of their lives.
They call that being "loyal" to their daughter and wanting the "safety" of the community!
Hero
even blamed the heroine for trying to destroy her sister's marriage after destroying her life, by carrying on with her husband!!! What the hell Heroine is supposed to forgive all and join this gross monstrous family who dropped her like a rotten potato because they were so wrapped up in blaming and hatred
To be fair, I put myself in their shoes and wondered my reaction would be if god forbid my daughter was hurt this way.
My first reaction of course would be anger and shock and grief, But I would also be immensely relieved that my daughter was able to recover physically and then put all my energy into helping her to recover emotionally which these bozos hadn't bothered to do because they were so busy warring against their perceived enemy.
What I am saying is that there are horrible traumatic events in life and people can choose how to dispense their energy, towards doing something productive and positive, or something destructive, nasty and hateful.
These people chose hate. That is why this story is the complete opposite of an HEA in my opinion, The next time something goes awry, or the relationship between heroine and hero implodes, you can be sure the in laws from hell are going to do everything in their power to destroy her.
Who the hell wants to marry into that Dr Emma Granger enjoys working with the air ambulance team, rescuing and helping people.
Professional, caring, and fully in control, Rhys Benton is everything a consultant should be but as her boss he is simply a danger to Emma's heart.
. . Dear ReadersI live close by the beautiful Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, where my husband and I brought up our son and daughter, both adults now, with children of their own.
I love to get out and about with all of them, Ive worked at a number of jobs over the years, all of which, Im sure, have fuelled my imagination for the stories I write.
Ive been an office clerk, a typist, receptionist and switchboard operator, as well as working as a cadet nurse in a hospital, which included an enjoyable stint in the pharmacy as well as time spent on the wards.
When my children started school, I trained as an infant teacher, a job I loved, Then I caught the writing bug, probably something that stemmed from a very young age when I would produc Dear ReadersI live close by the beautiful Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, where my husband and I brought up our son and daughter, both adults now, with children of their own.

Now, though, Im releasing two new contemporary romances Lake View Summer, and Kendricks Return, with titles to follow.
Im also working on a Murder Mystery series, Sweetbriar Farm Murder Mysteries, the first of which is Deadly Medicine.
