Explore Lighten Up Now: The Grady Diet Expressed By Grady Miller Presented In Paper Edition
absolutely loved this book, it's not your typical diet book, Grady Miller doesn't preach, scold, or shame and he writes in a way that everyone can understand, It's a book about his journey through the diet world and written with humor and at the same time practical sense.
Theth chapter is recipes and I will say that I made the Garbanzo beans and beet salad added a few other beans in it and a splash of raspberry balsamic vinegar and it was delicious and very filling.
It also inspired me to get up this morning and exercise before my morning coffee,
Whether you are on a diet or not I would say read this book, Read it for the inspiration and read it to simply feel good about yourself,
I received this from the author for an honest review, This is a nondoctor testimonial and approach to losing weight, It gets away from many traditional methods that involve counting calories, The concept is interesting. This was a free review copy, LAUGH amp LOSE: If Grady can lose seventy pounds and seven pants sizes, anybody can, brother, A few jawdroppingly simple guidelines will set you free from the hassle of calorie counting and the tyranny of bathroom scales.
A funtoread, concise blueprint for “regimen change,” Lighten Up Now: the Grady Diet turns conventional diets on their heads.
This brief book will become your constant companion that you will dip into again and again for inspiration and encouragement.
The pounds will melt away as you discover guiltreduced living that lets you eat as you please and laugh yourself to the perfect weight.
Funny, concise and topical. One of Gradys Seven Steps islaughs a day and one of his recommendations is laughter yoga, What Id never heard of laughter yoga and then in todays paper I read about a local group that practices here in my home town.
The diet plan itself is full of common sense and affirmations for success plus there are recipes at the end of the book that sound like theyd be tasty and easy to prepare.
I wish hed said more about exercise other than to do it at the beginning of the day but maybe that alone is the whole objective.
I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads program
Having read several of Mr.
Miller's articulate, funny articles in the Canyon News sitelinkwww, canyonnews. com and wanting to shed some poundage myself, I decided to read his new book, Lighten Up Now: The Grady Diet, a Diet to Lighten Up Your Mind amp Body.
Glad
I did.
First of all, I appreciate how Miller immediately lets the reader understand he is NOT a medical person, simply someone who, having lost a lot of weight, wanted to let us in on his journey of success.
In the past, I've read some big WhoHah Doctor Gurus' books on the 'rightwaytoloseweight', only to discover later that those people were not as medically sound as they claimed to be.
It is therefore refreshing to find out from a layman that there are some very simple, practical ways one can use to lose weight, and in the process, Be Kind to Thyself.
Selfkindness. Laughter. Those are biggies with Miller, coupled with eating tons of veggies, fruits, and some other advice, No spoilers, I promise! Although it is mostly written in a very conversational style, there is one lovely section about the benefits of having your own fruit trees and vegetable gardens, where the descriptive Miller I've read and admired before shines through.
Overall, however, he prefers to stay practical, And for those people who might smile, shrug, and say, "Yeah, so what's your proof" Miller's book ends up with a full resource list of books/articles that back up what he has suggested.
In short, I highly recommend reading this little slice of Inspiration,
