The wrong man never felt so right...
Ex-fighter Reed Miller has been secretly lusting over his best friend’s girl for months, but he refuses to jeopardize a friendship over a woman—especially one who doesn’t like him all that much. Now that Darcy’s on the market again, it’s even more imperative to stick to his strict hands-off policy. But the sizzling attraction between them is too powerful to ignore, and once he’s had a taste of her…all bets are off.
Darcy Grant is tired of walking the straight and narrow path. She’s on the hunt for passion, and there’s no denying Reed is just the man to give it to her. Although she has no interest in dating a bad boy, and certainly not her ex’s best friend, it’s impossible not to melt beneath Reed’s skillful touch. Now it’s just a matter of setting a few ground rules—and hoping her rule-breaking, sweet-talking bad boy agrees to follow them. But if she lets Reed into her bed, does she stand a chance of keeping him out of her heart?

4.25 Smokin' HOT Stars
Reed Miller was a bad boy to the core. Apparently the guy possessed an anything-goes attitude when it came to sex. He also smoked cigarettes cursed like a sailor, and drove way too fast in that black Camaro of his.
First and foremost, I'd like to say that in my next life, I'd like to come back as a heroine in one of Elle Kennedy's stories because sweet mother of sin do these bitches luck out. What? Don't you judge me dammit! You go and meet Reed and tell me you wouldn't want to jump his fictional bones. I'm serious when I tell you, move over, Darcy, because
I'm calling dibs all over this one. Lawd. Sorry, this is what happens when my ovaries decide to jump start my reviews. Now let's get serious (ha! I'll attempt it anyway) and move on to the review.
We first meet Reed as the broody and sexy part owner of the club Sin that he owns with his two buddies, AJ and Gage. Reed is a past MMA fighter and current manwhore. But don't judge him too hard for his manwhoring ways, since that was his attempt at trying to work past his lust for his best friend's girlfriend. I have to say that I was definitely skeptical before starting this book at how exactly Elle Kennedy would pull something like this off. In book 1 of the series, Darcy was dating (quite happily it seemed) Reed's best friend and business partner, A.J.
So when Reed goes to a competitor's club while on the search of the inside man that is pushing ecstasy at his club, he's more than a little shocked to also see Darcy there...flirting with a man that's NOT A.J.
I felt the chemistry between Darcy and Reed from the very beginning, so I couldn't wait to see the sparks fly between them when they finally give into the lust that only seems to boil over when they're around each other. Darcy is no longer dating AJ. Even though they made great friends, there was always something integral lacking between them. They were boring together and she wants an all consuming passion. A passion, it seems, that she only feels in the presence of a man that shows every evidence of disliking her. So when she finds out that Reed's avoidance of her is only because he wants her just as much as she wants him, all bets are off.
But as much as she may want Reed, she knows that he's not the relationship type, so she proposes they get whatever this is out of their system so they're both able to move on. Too bad Reed isn't just interested in a few nights between the sheets. That's not to say he's not going to make those nights count......and what if I don't want to listen?"
"Then that would make you a bad girl, wouldn't it? And do you want to know what I do to bad girls?" Reed dragged his own zipper down, the tick-tick-tick of metallic teeth being released echoing in the car. "I fuck them. I fuck them hard."
But Reed wasn't just a sweet talker. Nope. He certainly had the assets to...uhem...measure up with his mouth.I think I'm in love with your dick," she announced.
He croaked out a laugh. "That's incredibly forward of you. At least buy him dinner first. I'm curious, though. What did it for you? The length? The girth?"
I think what she's liking the entire package there, Reed
I gobbled this book right up. The chemistry between Reed and Darcy was absolutely scorching, the sex was even more so, and there was a great story to boot. Did I also mention Reed's dirty mouth?Ride me hard," he ground out. "Take me straight to heaven, baby."
"I love having sex with you, Reedford."
"I'd be worried if you didn't, considering my cock is buried inside of you right now."
Oh I did? Sorry, I get easily distracted.
There was the side plot with the search for the drug dealer that added a small (and really, it was pretty small) element of suspense. I can't say that it really peaked my interest and it did seem to wrap up fairly quick, but I was more focused on the romance so that barely even bothered me.
Elle Kennedy is definitely on my auto buy list since the first book in the series, and she only gets better with a full length novel. Lawd but this woman can write a steamy romance. I've been looking for another Brazen series along the lines of Tessa Bailey's dirty talkin hot cops, and I have finally found that with dirty talking club owners and past MMA fighters. Does it get any better? I think not. I'm totally hooked on this series, and if you enjoy a steamy romance with great banter and some super HAWT sex, looks like you've found your next read.

One Night Of Scandal is book two in the After Hours series by Elle Kennedy.
Reed Miller is one of the three owners of the hot night club, Sin, along with his two best friends, Gage and Aj. He has lusted secretly over Aj’s girlfriend Darcy for months, always careful to keep his feelings hidden. He would never do that to his best friend. Darcy was off limits. So why was he seeing her in the club alone and it looked like she was flirting with other guys. He was shocked when she told him that she and Aj had called it quits, and that it was a mutual decision. He can’t believe she’s free. But still, his best friends ex-girlfriend is just as hands off as a current girlfriend.
Darcy is a school teacher and feels like her life is about as predictable as it could be. She wants passion in her life. When she sees the look in Reed’s eyes, she thinks that even though Reed is known for his bad boy ways and is definitely not boyfriend material, why not have a fling with him. A sexy, hook up only fling with no emotional ties involved. Only this is easier said than done when hearts are involved.
Reed knows once will never be enough with Darcy. He has wanted her for so long. So he decides to accept her fling. But he is determined to show her that there is more to him than just a fling. That he is boyfriend material as well.
This is a sexy, fun little book. While Reed and Darcy fight the feelings between them, their club, Sin, is fighting to find the person that is selling drugs in their club, endangering everything Reed, Gage and Aj have worked for. I loved not only seeing Reed and Darcy’s hearts finally open to each other but also for Reed to finally accept that he is a changed man, a better man then he once was. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, One Night of Trouble, where Aj will finally get his own chance at a happy ever after. -
4--It's Just a Fling--Stars!!
Book 2 in the After Hours series follows Reed and Darcy, who we both met in One Night of Sin. Reed is one of the other co-owners of the club After Hours and Darcy is AJs girlfriend.
Reed has always crushed on Darcy, but has stayed away...bro code and all. But one night out at another club and Reed catches Darcy out with another man. When Reed discovers Darcy and AJ broke-up, he makes his move.
Despite the guilt they both feel about going behind AJs back, they just can't seem to stay away from each other. Darcy doesn't think Reed is relationship material and wants to keep things casual. Just have a fling. Does that ever work????
Just like Gage, Reed was deliciously dirty.
“I’d lick you for hours. I’d get you nice and wet and drive you crazy with my tongue, and then, when you’re lying there limp with satisfaction, I’d crawl back up and fuck you with my cock until neither one of us can see straight.”
“I want you to come,” Reed muttered against her aching flesh. “I want you to come on my face and my tongue, and scream my name while I drink you up.”
While I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as One Night of Sin, I still liked it. I didn't care for the little bit of miscommunication drama at the end. Granted, it was resolved quickly and wasn't OTT.
This is a great guilty pleasure series. They are quick, easy reads with some great banter and steam!
A Quick Sidenote: AJ and Darcy broke up in this one because of their lack of passion. My first thought....maybe AJ is gay! And the next book will be an MM! Wouldn't that be awesome?!?! -
5 oh, Reed be scandalous with me please STARS
Confession time. I liked this one a whole lot better than the first. Want to know why?
Reed!
Here is what got me excited. Dark haired Irish guy with blue eyes! So of course I got some Colin Farrell vibes. His eyes aren't blue, but I know how to use Photoshop. Easy-peasy. And you know what happens next? He talks like this:“I’d lick you for hours. I’d get you nice and wet and drive you crazy with my tongue, and then, when you’re lying there limp with satisfaction, I’d crawl back up and fuck you with my cock until neither one of us can see straight.”
I'm still trying to find my composure. Anyway, I'm totally getting ahead of myself here. Let me tell you a bit about the plot first and yes there is...some. ;P Here it is in a nutshell:
Reed wants Darcy, but Darcy is AJ's girlfriend, also AJ is Reed's best friend. And Darcy? Well, Darcy just wants passion.
BUT, it's not a triangle...just to clear this up. No worries!
Reed Miller is co-owner of Sin, a rather popular night club and he also, just like his best friends, happens to be an ex-MMA fighter. Did I mention that he is hot and ripped and pretty much sex on legs? Yeah well, I'm glad I could strengthen the point here once more.“Reed Miller was a bad boy to the core. Apparently the guy possessed an anything-goes attitude when it came to sex. He also smoked cigarettes cursed like a sailor, and drove way too fast in that black Camaro of his.”
One night, in an attempt to find a drug dealer who has been secretly pushing stuff through Sin, Reed wanders off into another club and guess who he finds? Yes, Darcy...flirting with another man...a man that is not her boyfriend AJ. Well, long story short...turns out they had broken up the night before and she was on the Rebound. Sort of.
Oh, what's a boy to do? Especially this boy, who has been secretly lusting after his best friend's girl for a long time.
Darcy Grant is a good girl. She is a teacher and she isn't one to date bad boys. In fact she has a reputation of playing it safe and you know that didn't get her very far. So, naturally she just has to try this out. Fuck the bad boy with the even worse reputation and find some passion in the process. BUT, no relationship...this is, and I quote 'just a fling'....mmmmmh. RIGHT! Cause that one always works so well.
So, we have two insanely beautiful people, who happen to be in total lust with each other and they know just what to do about it. The only problems would be the ex, some insecurities and well overall misconceptions and prejudice. I can role with that.
One Night of Scandal was a fast, hot and satisfying read. The characters have some insane chemistry; there are some really sweet moments as well as some drama. Oh, and dirty talking...you must not forget the dirty talking. What more does a girl want?“...and what if I don't want to listen?"
"Then that would make you a bad girl, wouldn't it? And do you want to know what I do to bad girls?" Reed dragged his own zipper down, the tick-tick-tick of metallic teeth being released echoing in the car. "I fuck them. I fuck them hard.”
Yeah, I sure would recommend it. ;P

One Night Of Scandal is the second book in the “After Hours” series by Elle Kennedy.
We meet both Reed and Darcy in the first book in the series One Night Of Sin.
Reed is part owner of Club Sin with his two friends, AJ and Gage. For months he lusted after Darcy, AJ’s girlfriend, but he knows his attraction for Darcy is wrong, that it’s a total violation of bro code.
For the past couple of months, someone had been selling Ecstasy over at "Sin", so Reed is determined to catch the drug dealer no matter what. He decides to pay a visit to a rival nightclub for more information when he sees Darcy kissing a man who’s not AJ. He confronts Darcy and he finds out they broke up.
Darcy cares about AJ, but only cares. They were good as friends, but as lovers…not so good. Darcy needs something more. She needs“Fun. Laughter. Excitement.
Passion.”
Reed can’t stay away from Darcy despite the guilt he feels about going behind AJ’s back and Darcy knows Reed is the only one who can give her what she wants and what she needs.
She knows Reed is a bad boy and that he’s not into relationships. She isn’t interested in dating a bad boy, but sleeping with a bad boy is something else.
And Reed is willing to give her what she wants...“I want you to come,” Reed muttered against her aching flesh. “I want you to come on my face and my tongue, and scream my name while I drink you up.”
...and more.
I really liked this one. It was sweet and sexy with really great steam. I enjoyed the banter and I loved the chemistry and passion between Reed and Darcy. Also, loved Reed’s dirty mouth...Despite the short length of the book, both MC are lovable and nothing was rushed. There’s a little drama in the end, but nothing serious, which I really liked.
Overall, One Night Of Scandal is a great steamy read, with likeable characters and fantastic writing.

4 stars
Darcy is Reeds best friends ex girlfriend. Hooking up with her would go against the bro code. But can they deny themselves the intense attraction they have for one another?
I almost rated this 3 stars because of Reed. Yea he was a loyal friend and a dirty talker but he was such a wimp and made a dumbass move near the end. But that would have been unfair seeing I enjoyed everything else. Darcy was great, it was scorching hot and the ending was cute.
Short sweet and sexy, just how I like them sometimes. Don't be expecting any deep heartfelt romance though, it was heavy on the lust and smut. -

3.5 - Once wasn't going to be enough. Stars.
Book 2 in the After Hours series is as hot and sexy as its predecessor. Reed, along with Gage and A.J are certainly a trio of guys that most girls are going to enjoy reading about, being ex-fighters and running their own nightclub they are all a little dark, mysterious and dangerous, to the casual observer. So it’s a great balance that the women they are falling for offer them the opportunity to step into the light, with their happy-go-lucky personalities, inner confidence and general take ‘no crap’ attitudes.
”I think I need to piss you off more often.”
Reed is one of my favourite types of alpha males, in that he can talk the ‘dirty’ talk and back it up with some extremely sexy-dirty walking! The verbal sparring between him and Darcy was evident in One Night of Sin and we are given the reasons as to why in One Night of Scandal… think of the grown up version of boys pulling girls pigtails to get their attention!
”I came here to have fun! There’s zero chance of that happening when you’re around.”
Add to that the other delicious ways he has of getting Darcy’s attention, and you are on-board for a sexy, easy to read ride.
The drama side of the book isn’t too heavy or overly angsty, and it doesn’t drag it down. I liked that the commitment issues were on Darcy’s side rather than Reed’s, it is nice to have this changed up a bit from the norm, where the guy is usually the one doing the running.
”When a woman tells me I’m getting her hot, it just makes me want to prove how much hotter I can get her.”
We are lead to believe in this book that A.J. may be a bit of a cold fish in the bedroom department. Seeing that his book is up next, and that it’s been written by Elle Kennedy, I am pretty sure those assumptions are going to be swiftly blown out of the water! And I for one am looking forward seeing who it is that he connects’ with and how well those misconceptions get ‘blown’ away!

4.5 Forbidden Love Stars!!!
I was excited to read this book after for Gage’s book
One Night of Sin. Reed Miller is one of the part owners of “Sin” a nightclub, along with his best friends Gage & AJ,. He's an ex-MMA fighter, and he’s pretty much known to his friends as somewhat of a manwhore..
Darcy Grant is AJ’s ex-girlfriend; and completely out of bounds to Reed. No matter how much he desires her, he couldn’t, and wouldn’t go there…..or would he?
While at another nightclub, Reed sees Darcy flirting with another man and makes it his business to keep her away from any other men since he believes that she belongs to AJ. Darcy informs Reed that she and AJ have “amicably broken up”. Reed has always had a thing for Darcy, he was constantly fighting his feelings and avoiding her whenever she was around and he is somewhat determined to keep his vow to stay away however; Darcy is making that vow impossible.
When they finally give into their attraction, they were explosive together and let me just say Reed has got the “dirty talk” down!! (Good lord!! I needed Karla’s misting fan!!) What’s better is everything that comes out of his mouth, he backs it up with his actions!!! HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!. Reed needs to overcome his guilt for being with his best friends ex…which I admit was awkward but Elle Kennedy manages to pull it off and you see Darcy and AJ more as friends rather than ex lovers.
Meanwhile; Darcy battles her growing feelings and refuses to let herself believe that Reed could be “the one” since all she wanted from him was a “fling”, his reputation wouldn’t let her believe that Reed was anything other than a fling, plus he was just all wrong for her….wasn’t he?
Thoroughly enjoyed Reed & Darcy’s book, plus we get more on Gage and Skylar which is awesome!! Next up I’m reading AJ’s book
One Night of Trouble, AJ’s is very gentlemanly, compassionate and sweet…I think he is going to surprise us and I CAN’T WAIT!! -
2.85 stars
Enjoyable enough for me to finish. Took me ages to get through. I’ll chalk up that this prolly wasn’t my favourite because it was one of the author’s earlier works. Still great writing and great dialogue but the h and the romance just didn’t do it for me. -
How'd I go from rating the first book in this series 4 stars, then rating this 2 stars?!?!
We have Darcy (who was introduced in
One Night of Sin as Gage's friend AJ's girlfriend, who Gage's other friend, Reed, happened to hate. But turns out, Reed didn't really hate Darcy. In fact, Reed was hella into Darcy, but he acted like a dick because she was his best friend's girl. So when AJ and Darcy mutually decide to break-up one night, and Reed and Darcy run into each other the VERY NEXT NIGHT, things get heated between them. Darcy decides to have a "fling" with Reed because Reed isn't her type because she's pegged him as "not the relationship type".
Personally, I'm not a fan of I'm-dating-my ex's-best-friend tropes. Regardless of whether or not there's cheating, it's not something I can often get behind. But I'm not completely opposed to it, if you give me a good enough story and convince me, I can totally be down. As this is more a novella, there wasn't enough time to convince me. So, I wasn't convinced.
The turning point of the story also stemmed from a miscommunication *rolls eyes*.
There was a brief introduction to a desi gyal called Jayanti who was apparently a complete knockout. Let's start a petition for Elle Kennedy to write a dope racially-positive-inoffensive story featuring Jayanti as the lead. I volunteer as beta-reading-tribute. -
3 1/2 stars
So... I liked the book, the chemistry between Reed and Darcy was off the charts, but I still felt bad for AJ - Reed's best friend and Darcy's ex - no matter how cool he (AJ) was with the whole thing. I guess I'm not as "evolved" as him. ;) -
Dual-POV, HAE. Can be read as standalone.
PHEWEE. Ms. Kennedy can write some damn good smut, but after all my raving reviews about the Out of Uniform series (because those were some SERIOUSLY hot books), it's no surprise that this series would be comparable.
Reed is the bad boy player of Sin, the night club he owns with his friends. He's known for his one night stands and being against relationships completely. What no one knows, however, is how he's been pining after his best friend's girlfriend for months. So, when he spies her at another club looking chummy with someone else, he's thrown for a loop. When he finds out that she and his friend have mutually broken up and she's back on the market, he's in a full-on lust spiral.
Then again, who was he kidding? He'd broken the code a hundred tmes when it came to Darcy. All those dirty, dirty thoughts he'd had about her pretty much ensured he'd be going straight to shitty friend hell.
Darcy isn't as upset as she thought she'd be over her split with AJ. She's determined to find another partner with passion, something her previous relationship was MAJORLY lacking. She's not the type to sleep around, though, and so when a moment of pure passion happens with AJ's best friend, and renowned playboy, Reed -- well, she's not thrilled. She is, however, extremely attracted to him. So she makes him a deal: they'll be a fling, nothing more. She definitely doesn't want to become invested when there's a real possibility he'll break her heart.
"I'm addicted to you," he hissed into her lips. Hishands slipped down to cup her ass, squeezing hard enough to make her gasp. "Tell me to go, damn it."
"I can't." She heard the helpless note in her voice. "I want you too much."
But it seems that feelings can't be squashed so easily, for either of them. Reed is new to these feelings, and Darcy is still protecting her heart. Both have to figure out whether or not it's worth the risk.
Like I said... I continue to be blown away with Kennedy's storytelling ability. And the scenes she writes... intimately speaking, it's been tough to find her equal in that regard.
'Til next time cuties ;)! -
This is now Reed and Darcy's story and what a yummy read!
I admit, it was a little weird, with Darcy being the ex of one of Reed's best friends, like too-close-for-comfort weird. But I thought Ella did just fine giving us the history of Reed's feelings for Darcy which I totally bought. And I thought Ella also did just fine with the chemistry between those 2, hot dang!
Reed, with all his alpha actions is just adorable with his thoughts, and I thought Darcy is a pretty cool chick. Mature actions from mature adults who, whether they like it or not, has this incredible attraction between them. Until of course the conflict near the end, which I thought was a tad lame, hence a star off, sorry. But I must say, at least even that was handled maturely by the characters...
Oh, Reed, you dirty talkin' you!... sigh...
And now, on to AJ's story,
One Night of Trouble. -
This was definitely my favourite in the “After Hours” series. Elle Kennedy writes such a great romance.
Reed has a thing for Darcy but Darcy is with his best friend, AJ. But when AJ and Darcy break up, Reed is faced with the challenge of staying away from Darcy.
I instantly fell for Reed. He was sexy and take charge. His romance with Darcy was scorching hot! I really felt for him. Because of his past, he had so many issues of self-worth and I think he truly didn’t think he deserved Darcy.
Darcy’s breakup with AJ was a bit of a mystery to me in this book, though in book 3, with AJ’s point of view told, it makes much more sense.
Great read!!! -
reed was super cute and him and darcy were totally great together.
-
2.5 stars
Long story short - the MCs freak out for the first 3/4 of the book that their mutual friend (her ex, his BFF) AJ will find out about their crush on each other. Especially, Reed is all about the bro-code. Turns out AJ really doesn't care that much and he's OK with it. So much that in the end, he's the one to put them back together.
I struggled with the ending a bit, I'm fine with a little unjustifiend OP drama, but using OW for a break-up so the girl will get the hint and not contact him anymore? Ouch... 😖 Seems like this is a common thing in the books, but is it a real life? I don't know, haven't even heard of anyone doing something that cruel... ☹️ I would definitely make him grovel for at least days, and not have her come back to him.
The two good things:
1) The sex - if you feel like reading something hot and short with a little drama, go for it 😊
2) The angst - I liked that she thought he hated her, but in fact he was trying not to show his hots for her. -
One Night of Scandal
3 Stars
Reed Miller has always obeyed the golden rule of friendship - never poach another guy's gal. Despite his unabated lust for Darcy Grant, Reed has always kept his distance. But now that Darcy and his best friend, A.J., have called it quits, Reed is finding it virtually impossible to keep his hands to himself. To make matters worse, Darcy is determined to have her way with him even though she has no interest in a relationship with a sweet-talking bad boy like Reed. Can these two reconcile their differences and find their happily ever after?
If it is done well, the forbidden romance trope can be an excellent way to ratchet up the tension and chemistry in a relationship. Luckily, Kennedy accomplishes this with little effort as Darcy and Reed heat up every available surface while fighting their pseudo-illicit attraction (as they aren't actually cheating on A. J., which would be a deal breaker).
In fact, this aspect of the story plays out rather quickly and easily with relatively little angst, and the second half of the plot focuses on an entirely different issue, i.e., Darcy's bias against the type of man she believes Reed exemplifies - the player. Obviously, Darcy's attitude is problematic and it puts a minor damper on the romance as Reed is not only sexy and hot, but a truly sensitive person and a caring friend.
The silly misunderstanding is, thankfully, very short lived and the resolution is sweet.
All in all, a good read although the first book in the series is much better. A. J.'s story is next and I look forward to him finding his true love. -

4 ASS.U.ME stars
I was excited to read the next book in Elle Kennedy’s After Hours series, having fallen hook, line and sinker for Gage from One Night of Sin.
Reed Miller is one of the part owners, along with his best buddies, in the exclusive nightclub, Sin. He is an ex-MMA fighter, and renowned playboy. What better workplace to have to utilise all his talents.
Darcy Grant was AJ’s girlfriend; a direct, honest, passionate woman, and completely out of bounds to Reed. Not that he was thinking about it right at this moment, but she occupied a lot of his headspace, and he couldn’t, wouldn’t go there.
On a night out at a competitors nightclub, trying to gather intel on the drugs issue they were currently experiencing at Sin, Reed sees Darcy getting flirty and makes it his job to pull her up about her behaviour. Darcy discloses that AJ and her have amicably broken up, which sent his lust-o-meter into overdrive. Reed had always held a candle for Darcy, and now there was a possibility she may get to know it.
This couple were pure dynamite when they decided to have one night in an attempt to get each other out of their system. But Reedford’s obscene mouth made it for me.
Their battle with each others assumptions, created an interesting line that obviously reached a compelling climax. A little bit, and I mean little bit of drama added to the mix.
An engaging read, that continued the series nicely. Can’t wait for AJ’s turn. -
Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Brazen for the free copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It's a matter of principles, really. i'm against the whole dating-my-best-friend's-ex part of the story. I would probably be on board with it, had the said best friend died, or the best friend turns out to be a jerk. I think those two are acceptable reasons for you to get involved with the ex. But you see, neither of those two scenarios happen.
The best friend is alive and well, and the best friend happens to be a wonderful friend.
The whole scandal thing happen because the ex and the best friend don't have chemistry together. This realization, of course, sank in after months of dating and after sleeping together.
I can't even "brain" how you could 'get it on' knowing that your best friend 'got on' with the same woman not long ago. -
3.75/5
MMA fighter is all I needed to see. I really enjoyed Reed and Darcy’s story. They wanted to have a no strings attached relationship but how often does that work out. Someone or both parties end up catching feelings for the other and it can sometimes turn out bad. In this situation, that was not the case. Their chemistry was very hot. This is the first book of this series that I have read and I am going to go back and read the others. -
4.5 stars.

“A man didn’t hit on his friend’s girl or his friend’s ex. Period.”
“What kind of woman threw herself at her ex-boyfriend’s best friend...?”
One Night of Scandal is a very sexy read. And it contains a very sexy Reed.
Reed Miller, ex-MMA fighter, club owner and dirty talker.
“I want to bite on that sexy bottom lip of yours. I want to slip my tongue in your mouth and tease you until you’re begging me to put my tongue somewhere else.”
Darcy Grant is his best friend and business partner AJ's ex-girlfriend. Desperate to find passion, the sweet, chatty teacher finds herself bumping into Reed, the man who has never shown anything but dislike for her. She sees him as a player with no more potential than fling material, but he wants what his friends Gage and Skyler have found and what he thought AJ and Darcy had...
“I’ve wanted you forever. Every goddamn time I see you, I’ve had to force myself not to blurt it out. I can barely even look at you, for chrissake, because I’m scared you’ll see it in my eyes.”
I adored Reed. He was a perfect blend of panty-busting hot and a gent. And Darcy is unquestionably the perfect woman for him; Smart, confident and kind, their chemistry burns from the off and she isn't afraid to call him on his more alpha moments. Not that you found me complaining over these moments.
“Damn it, Darce. What’s it gonna take to make you recognize how reckless you were? Am I going to have to f*** some sense into you? Is that it?”
“Maybe you should.”
Yes Reedford, you should.
Admittedly I would've liked more made of one of the side plots but I'm certain that if you loved Gage and Skyler together in One Night of Sin (if you haven't read the novella, seriously, go read it), you will love Reed and Darcy. Meanwhile, I'll sit here impatiently waiting AJ's turn, because whilst he and Darcy may have lacked passion together, he has it in him, I'm certain.

Ahhh yes. One Night of Scandal heated things up quite nicely.
The Gist: Reed and Darcy. Well they've found themselves in a scandalous fling after Darcy breaks up with Reed's best friend and, well, they realize they can't be in arms distance of each other without clothes flying. But it's just a fling. They absolutely will not under any circumstances get serious. Just a fling. Just. A. Fling.
Yeah Reed and Darcy. I loved Reed. He's a good guy with a soft heart under that big brawny exterior and having to fight the reputation he earned over the years while growing up. And Darcy. Well she and I had a couple issues because she's a little judgy now and again with all the assuming but overall I liked her, too. She could be a lot of fun and she really cared about her students which was nice to see.
The romance? Lordy. Well these two were difficult every step of the way. lol He's had it bad for her for ages. She's been with his best friend but is now single. There's some guilt there even though there really didn't need to be any. She's adamant on just being a fling and not making any attachments because somehow that would be worse...he wants forever and is biding his time. They absolutely lit up a room they were so hot together. Cars, hallways, sheds at the farmers market. Yeah, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. lol
All in all, One Night of Scandal was a blistering hot read. It takes them a while to figure things out and they have some blunders along the way but I enjoyed their romance and especially loved getting to know Reed and some of the sides of him you might not expect at first glance. -

English review:
I don't know why I still try with these books, because there's a 95% chance that it's going to piss me off for most of it - usually because of the male characters, and it wasn't different here. Reed bothered me a lot since the first chapter because of his ridiculous behavior towards Darcy, who had just broken up with his best friend and just wanted a night out to have fun in a club, but he just stood there ruining her night. There were so many better ways to make them come closer, I don't know why these authors insist on following the unpleasant alpha male with an over protection complex path. There are some nice moments in the story, but I couldn't pass my irritation with Reed on the beginning of the book, and the storyline itself is very weak as well. -
Elle Kennedy never disappoints me. I loved Reed and Darcy's story. Their chemistry was smokin' Hot! Reed was such a yummy dirty talker that Darcy didn't stand a chance. What started as no-strings turned into a lot more. This was a great quick read.
Now I need AJ's story !
