Grasp Non Fuggire Più Narrated By Jasmine Cresswell Released As Text
was a really good story that kept you in suspense right up to almost the end, When Maggie
Slade is sent to prison at the age offor the murder of her mother, she feels like her life is over.
She escapes and is on the run for many years until she decides to confront the person she thinks actually committed the murder.
Is she right You are kept guessing till the end,
A really hard to put down book, I thought this book was exciting, although I would rate it PGat times, It was exciting but to be honest a let down so I would not recommend it, "When Maggie Slade was fifteen years old her mother was murdered and she was wrongly convicted of the murder, After seven years in jail she escapes only to find running and hiding is a very hard life, Never making friends, never falling in love, She meets Sean McLeod, a cop on leave from his job, in a bar in Florida where she has been working as a waitress.
He's suspicious and starts asking questions, eventually causing Maggie to run, "
I finished the book but it was not my favorite, In places the story just flew along but in other places the story seemed to drag and I did skip a few of the more graphic romance/sex scenes without losing any of the storyline.
Not a bad read but not my favorite, good Picked this up at the library, Not my usual genre but it caught my eye and seemed interesting, Worth a shot while I put off reading Laura Dave,
I stayed up way too late on Friday night reading this, It had an intriguing plot, but it felt padded and I started to skip sections I wanted to find out Who Done It and didn't care so much about the shopping trip to the security store for example.
There were several places where she seemed determined to show off all the research she did and it really took me out of the story and that's not good.
Fabulous book from start to finish, I absolutely devoured this book, The situation as the book starts is that Maggie a young woman who has been falsely accused and convicted of her mother's murder at fifteen has escaped from prison and been on the run for the last seven years.
By dyeing her hair or wearing wigs, she has concealed her identity and worked in a series of bars, moving on if anyone tries to get too close to her or seems likely to expose her true identity.
She has discovered that there is an network of illegal aliens who have the skills to produce false identities and documents and has used these contacts to change her name and appearance each time she moves to a different town.
She has developed a very easy way of handling the bar customers with mild flirting, jokes and a cheerful manner, but underneath that her agenda is that she wants to catch the person she suspects was her mother's lover and killer and thereby have her sentence overturned.
While she is working in Tampa, Don, the owner of the local car dealership has been trying to get a romance going with her and as his brother Sean, who is a detective, is visiting from Denver on a gunshot recovery leave.
Sean is quite cynical about the relationship Don wants and realizes that Maggie doesn't reciprocate Don's feelings, He also notices that Maggie has been trying to avoid him, He doesn't realize that she has recognized him as the young detective who investigated her mother's murder, He has a slight feeling that he should recognize her but doesn't quite place her, He is on his way to check her out and finds that Maggie is being assaulted by her boss, He saves her from the boss's advances and things carry on from there,
There are many twists and turns in the plot and the action is fast, It is all easy to follow with only Sean and Maggie as the main characters and the peripheral characters are not difficult to assimilate.
Sean has realized who Maggie really is and has to decide whether to turn her in or to assist her, I can't write much more without giving away the plot but I can say that I had no idea until the final few pages who the killer might have been and even then it was merely a suspicion until finally all is revealed.
Jasmine Cresswell has written a number of other books and I plan to have a look for some of the others, I am sure they will be just as exciting and well written,
The title of the book is The Daughter, It was written by Jasmine Cresswell, It is about a girl called Maggie Slade who was convicted murderer of her own mother when she was still a teenager.
After spending nine years in prison, she escaped and was on the run for six years, During those years on the run, she spent her time looking for the assassin of her mom while changing appearance all the time.
She came across Sean McLeod: the detective who examined the murder weapon and found her fingerprints on it, The detective finally recognized her so she reluctantly tells him her story, Is the detective going to turn her in Is he going to help her clean her case in justice Are they going to end up friends or more Read the book and find out the fate of Maggie Slade.
I would want to be friends with Maggie Slade because I admire her strength and her courage to go forward for the things she believes in.
