Unlikely Love !!!!
It was pretty good book, Love it because it was a historical fiction, and I really enjoy those types of books,.stars.
Normally, I really like anything Dorothy Clark puts out, but I wasn't really feeling Marissa's character, She just seemed a bit whiny to me with her crazed fear of anything alcoholic, . . maybe it's just me. Also, the romance seemed so rushed even though I know she and Grant felt pressed for time to get to know each other.
. . I don't know, the pace seemed off, E Irresistible Adversary
With her focus firmly on spreading her message of temperance, Marissa Bradley is taken by surprise when she meets Grant Winston.
Still in mourning for her brother, whose tragic death due to strong drink drives her to speak out on the subject, Marissa cannot think of romance.
Yet Grant's charm draws her in,
Intrigued by the pensive young woman, Grant determines he must learn more about her, But he never expected to find her protesting his family's vineyard! When he learns her reasons, he's sympathetic, but Grant can't walk away from the business that supports his family and provides his mother a home.
How can he choose between his and Marissa's growing love and his family's very livelihood,A temperence gal amp a grape grower meet at a Meeting, There are "sparks" but their differing stance on alcohol may keep them apart! If this novel ever gets made into a Hallmark Channel movie, I'm totally calling dibs on playing Grant's mother.
Her undying faith that God will work things out, combined with her ready sense of humor make her a memorable secondary character.
I love the strong role faith plays throughout the book, and the fact that both Marissa and Grant have trouble acting in faith makes the whole novel feel more genuine.
The concept of Marissa, the outspoken Temperance advocate, and Grant, the vineyard owner, falling in love was well played out, even though I saw the grape juice twist a mile away.
"The heightened anticipation of Grant and Marissa finding out about the others identity makes this a real pageturner, Clarks standalone shows how two individuals, against all odds, rely on their faith and Gods promises to make a way" RT Book s,stars.
