Download The Everything Groom Book: A Survival Guide For Men Narrated By Shelly Hagen Released As Text
husband did a great job with his responsibilities at our wedding, although this book may or may not have helped on that front, So I needed to get some info, because I felt pretty out of my depth, but the majoroty of this book basically just tells you to make sure you are double checking everything and keeping open communication with your wife to be.
Seems pretty sound to me, and now I'm feeling much better about things, . . Read on the recommendation of a family member, There are some nuggets to be found but, on the whole, more ink on paper than it was worth, The information is vague and general, Unless I'm missing something, this book is intended for men who are strongly considering marriage, The audience is probably a little wiser and more mature than a typical teenager, On the whole, I find that the author insults the intelligence and common sense of the adult male population, Tips like "shave, shower, and don't be hung over" for your wedding day are a waste of paper, ink, and the reader's time, I gave the book a rating ofout ofsimply because awould have been too harsh, The advice isn't bad, but it's not very helpful either, The reader is not likely to read much of anything he doesn't already know, I was given this book by my sister and brotherinlaw, While I appreciated the sentiment, this book was of little use, I learned far more about the wedding process by taking part in other weddings than I did from reading this book, Aside from being pretty outdated, the book is pretty patronizing towards the reader and their future parter, Not only does the author assume that the reader is a "frat boy" type, but that the bride is overly emotional, Personally, I feel like Shelly spent some time writing this book after she watched a few movie weddings and decided to comment on the do's and don'ts.
I do not suggest this book for anyone who has attended a formal wedding, I'd suggest this book for someone who has never been to a wedding and who also does not have family members to consult, The book assumes the male reader is a bit of a block headed jock and that the bride is going to be an emotional wreck or in a constant state of panic.
Thankfully, my fiancé is crazy, so at least the latter part applies to me lol!
With respect to advice, there was not a whole lot of ground breaking info if you have talked with other people who had weddings, or if you have some help from family.
But could be extremely useful if you were someone who had no help, However, the way the author addresses the reader sometimes comes across as rude or patronizing, likely in an effort to be funny but missing the mark.
The perfect handbook for grooms looking for that extra support on their wedding day, .
