Seize Electrify Me (The Fireworks Series Book 1) Illustrated By Bibi Rizer Format Kindle

love the way the story started, Gloria was given an interesting history backstory, A New Years Baby dealing with historically horrible New Years Eves, It sucked me in because Ive never been one to celebrate New Years Eve, Where the story lost me was the lack of development of Charlie, His story felt thrown in at the last minute and there was a part of the plot that was never resolved, And doesnt look like it will be, As a reader, that irritates the heck out of me, Its a shorter book and didnt take too long to read, I just feel these characters had the potential to be so much more, If youre looking for a quick read with sexy hookups, this is your book, If youre looking for a fulfilling book with complex characters, I wouldnt recommend it, Loved this short story! Lot's of humor and just the right amount of suspense, I read it in one sitting and didn't want it to be over as quickly as it did, I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, fun read, New Years Eve is Gloria Falcons version of Friday theth, Something dreadful always happens that night, This year, she decides to change tactics: instead of trying to find fun and love, she signs up to man the suicide hotline in hopes that will change her luck.
But when the power goes down before her shift on the phones even starts, Gloria knows shes in for a bumpy ride,

Charlie Zhang had no clue what was in store for him when he answered a routine call for the power company on New Years Eve.
But when he meets Gloria, the night takes him on a ride hell never forget,

Bibi Rizer manages to pack a lot of drama, sex, and humor intopages! Im normally not a big fan of novellas I am always left wanting more.
But Ms. Rizer does an excellent job of wrapping things up, I hope, though, we get to see more of Gloria and Charlie in the future,

I received a copy of this novella in exchange for an honest review For just underpages, this little story sure does live up to its series name and delivering some serious FIREWORKS! Written in both Gloria and Charlie's POV, the hilarity at times had me in tears.
Gloria is sarcastic, completely honest with herself and the life choices she has made, As a New Year's baby, each year has brought some ridiculously bad dates and more, Now, when fate brings her and Charlie together, more than down power lines are going to bring the sparks! Charlie is our resident hero, young guy just on this side of innocence.
Questioning his luck in finding this fun girl, he never knew what volunteering to work on New Year's Eve would do for his "dating" life!
Electrify Me by Bibi Rizer
This novella was given to me by the author for an honest review.
DAMN! Id never heard of the author and met her at an online party, I saw her cover and it was catching, I then spoke with her about some of her work she has out there to be read, After explaining the novels that interested me, she felt that Electrify Me would be a great novella to read,

This novella sure was a great read, The first chapter was loaded with a lot of information and after reading the book, that chapter had to be, We had to understand how shitty things were for Gloria, The novel then carried on with a steady pace, with a great story line, To help others, or at least try to help others,

Once the power went out and we met Charlie, the story picked up, It then went to a faster, erotic pace, We learned more about them and read about their connection blossoming, Being the topics this author chose, this story could have gone in so many different directions, However, I love the direction she choose,

Not to give anything away, I loved how this author used humor, and was able to describe details and feelings, I found myself eagerly reading the chapters to find the answer to the current problems, Loved how her characters were like regular jos, Her hero was an average kid who had typical problems and her heroine was a girl with typical fearsthough she might have had more than most girls.
However, given her shit start to life,

     In
the book Electrify Me by Bi Bi Rizer, the protagonist Gloria Falcon
is trying to have her New Year's curse reversed by trying to save
lives at a church through a suicide line but doing so the power goes
out and she ends up meeting an average guy Charlie Chang, which
changed everything for the both of them, from bad luck and boredom to
a night of crazed excitement.

sitelink     The
best parts of this book were the awkward moments, The awkward moments
that were funny to me, were the little side jokes that make my
stomach literally hurt from all the laughter, and the sexually
explicit moments that got my entire being all wired up! For example,
the side jokes were when Charlie thought a guy with leather pants on
was gay and gave Charlie his card and he turned out to be a minister
and asked “I wonder if the Pope would like those pants ”
Another example of an awkward moment was when Charlie would think of
his grandmother's toenail clippings to keep his body at bay which was
kind of gross and also hilarious too!

     The
author really knows how to keep her readers busy thinking and really
laughing, it was almost like watching a movie and the author kept
everything super detailed, which was a fine point.
Rizer sure did an
outstanding job on this book, I give it two thumbs and five! I
also recommend this book to anyone who has a sense of humor, and if
you don't have a sense of humor, you can go find a book in the boring
section somewhere! Oh and go check this one out today, you will be
happy you did.

This little number was page turning good.
After many years of bad New Years Eve and New Years, Gloria decides to try something different and work a suicide hotline, The Lights go out and Charlie comes to assess the situation, After finding that it would take more than his tools to fix, he asks Gloria to take a ride with him while he waits on calls.
Driving up in a drug house, he phones the police, causing on of the dealers to confront them,

After some handy foreplay pun fully intended, they head to the drugstore for condoms since their hands didnt get the job done.
The dealer from the drug house jumps in the truck, with Gloria in it, and drives off, Charlie jumps through hoops to find her and when he does, at another drug house, he cuts the power, knocks out the dealer, and gives it to Gloria from the back on a table.
I was floored that they couldnt wait until they got out of the house and not surprised that the police showed up, almost catching them in a compromising position, although they kind of were, being that they were in a drug house and by the looks of things, the police thought he raped her and she tried to escape.

The story ended in a high note, back at Glorias apartment with a steamy shower, a little oral and much needed sleep.
So much in such a short story, I would definitely call it a quickie! Thanks Bibi!
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast read, The author leads the reader in with Glorias woeful New Years Eve history, Gloria has has such bad luck in the past, starting off during her childhood, Understandably so, Gloria is massively superstitious when it comes to this date on the calendar, However, shes determined this year will be different

In comes Charlies POV, The book is beautifully written in first person narrative, swapping between the two main characters POVs with each chapter, The only criticism I have is that their wasnt enough difference between the two voices, at times I found myself trying to remember whos POV it was.
Its incredibly difficult to achieve a huge difference in character voices, and to be honest, I found myself thinking it was because these two were made for each other

As always, Glorias New Years Eve plan takes a turn for the worse when there is a power cut at the church she is volunteering at for the night.
She figured that taking calls from suicidal people on New Years Eve would rid her of her New Year curse, Enter Charlie, who is on call for a power firm that night, Hes immediately attracted to Gloria and herermtights! The pair are so cute when they are flirting, the author has achieved realism in the way they dance around each other in the attempt to discover if the feelings are mutual.

Then comes the action, there is plenty of it in this novella, My heart skipped a beat when an unexpected turn of events leaves Gloria in danger, Charlie is a good old fashioned night in shining armour,

If youre looking for a flowery narrative, dont pick up this book, The author cuts right to the chase in this fast paced novella, It was refreshing to read something punchy, funny, and realistic, I really enjoyed every minute of it, Im looking forward to reading more of The Fireworks Novellas,

Electrify Me is a quick read told from both Gloria and Charlie's POV's,
Gloria telling us the story of her past New Year's catastrophes while wishing for just one New Year's with a decent man,
Charlie had no idea volunteering to work New Year's eve would pay off in more ways than time an a half,
Charlie and Gloria's short lived courship leads to an eventful night that ends in bed waking with thoughts that this isn't just a one nighter.

A quick read that keeps you hooked until the last page, This book was reviewed on nabookreviews, blogspot. com. sitelink blogspot. com/ Short, yes, but oh my God!

This book was amazing! Is it a short read Yes but it was amazingly written and ohmyGod hot!

I was intrepid about buying it, I mean.
forpages left me pretty much predetermined to drop it a star just for being over priced, I can't. The read was just that good, Gloria and Charlie were two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together and I really want another story some years down the line after this one to check in with them and see how they're doing.

As a person who lives in Seattle the author has her geographical details spot on! Which just made this even more of a fun read.

I can't wait to read more by her and will commence looking for more now!,
