Evan and Matt are one of my favorite couples.
I love the way they love and support one another, They each have a different parenting style, Evan is all about talking things out and Matt is more of giving themand steering them in the right direction,
In BookBlessed I was wee bit disappointed, This story had the gang of Jim/Griffin, Bennett/Daisy and Shane/Helena spending Labor Day weekend in the Hampton estate of Bennett and Daisy.
It was more about Jim/Griffin's relationship and we barely got to see Evan/Matt, It was confusing at times because you getdifferent POV's and I had to reread some parts to figure out who was talking.
I think Cherish is a,and Blessed was more of astar read for me, I will finish up with Truth amp Tenderness a little later on,
I loved catching up with Matt and Evan and Jim and Griffin in these two shorts, In Cherished we get caught up with the Cerelli family dynamics at an incredibly uncomfortable holiday dinner, while Blessed brought the two main couples back together and did a bit of set up for the next book, which I am incredibly excited for.
Out of the two novellas, I enjoyed Blessed more, although neither of the stories quite lived up to the wonderful three novels preceding them IMO.
Miranda's bitchy crap in Cherished just annoyed me far too much and all the baby stuff in Blessed is so not my thing I'll never understand why people get the warm and fuzzies at the thought of procreating and whatnot, I'm definitely not wired that way.
I liked having Jim and Griffin back on the page and interacting with Matt and Evan, though, and a lot of story threads that will presumably be brought to their conclusion in the sixth book were set up.
REVIEW FOR "Blessed"
I think this was perfect, I decided to not reread the entire series, so this installment was a fantastic refresher, I forgot most of the details from the previous books, especially sitelinkLove amp Loyalty, but the author made an effort to bring back a lot of things that happened then.
I think this was a perfect interlude, We know the author switched publishers so maybe that was the reason for making this, and it is welcome to me,
I like Jim amp Griffin and the rest of the characters, But Evan amp Matt, is just, . . I can't even! THEY ARE SO FREAKING ADORABLE AND PROBABLY ONE OF THOSE ESTABLISHED M/M COUPLES I LOVE TO READ.
Their relationship is at a stage that a lot of couples will envy, They are settled, but still very much in love!, . . and in lust.
Overall I enjoyed everything about this and I gotta note that I think I saw improvement on Ms, Michael's reading so congratulations!
Off to Book!
STARS! I really adore Matt and Evan and it's always fun to catch up with them.
I've also always really liked Jim but Griffin just hasn't ever connected with me and I could care less about Daisy and Bennett so just astar read for me.
Me lt DISAPPOINTED
My rating is only for Blessed, I've read Cherished a long time ago, and I really enjoyed it, Sadly, that can't be said of the new novella, . . Blessed annoyed me so much, I don't even get the point of it being published, . . it was such a sapfest! Everyone is happyhappy, accomplished, marrying and breeding and earning money and living nice and being content, . . it was a hundred pages of all tell rather than show, with POVs jumping from one hero to another, and with a tiny contrived drama in Jim amp Griffin's relationship.
Yawn. .
Why do I keep reading this series when I know I won't be happy with it Answer I keep waiting for something.
I'm guessing it's police officer soon to be captain Evan Cerelliwho I have problems with, I still feel like he doesn't deserve former cop turned security consultant and a househusband Matthew Matt Matty Haight, I just feel like Matt should have more, I had already read Cherish, so I skipped it in this one, And I also skimmed through Jim Shea and his boyfriend Griffin Drake, because I'm not interested in their story.
Only Matt. Overall, I just have one more book in the series, then I'm d o n e, Which I'm happy about.

Blessed offered me the opportunity to meet up once again with one of my all time favorite m/m couples and it was so nice to see how life is going on for Matt and Evan.
They are an established couple for many years now, but due to the many kids and other couples around them, their life never gets boring.
While Cherish focused on the Carelli family and lets us be part of a terrible family diner, Blessed is free of any real drama between Evan, Matt and the kids.
The book is bringing Matt and Evan back together with Jim and Griffin, the couple from the second book in the series.
The book is covering quite a few important moments in the lives of both couples and it gave an interesting overview I however had the feeling that it moved a little too fast sometimes.
I would have loved to get a few more details in some episodes, Blessed is setting the stage for the last book in the series and while Im dreading to read it solely due to the fact that it

is the last story featuring Matt and Evan, Im also very curious.
I guess I cant keep myself from reading it for long! Cherished was, Blessed was. I have never been able to connect to Griffin amp Jim, I know Matt works security and there will be a nexxus between the two families, I just don't care about Jim and Grif,
Matt and Evan just make me smile, It was nice to see them thinking about marriage, I applaud Evan for dealing with his mother in law the way he does, I love this relationship and I look forward to them continuing to grow together, stars

Moving on a few years after the last book Matt and Evan are an established couple whose lives revolve around the children, their home and their work.
Matt is doing well with his private security company and Evan is due an important promotion, The twins are still living at home but Miranda and Katie are happily ensconced in their college lives,
When Evan discovers his eldest daughter Miranda has been talking about marriage when he hasnt even met the man involved things take a stressful turn just before Thanksgiving.
When Evan confronts her about her relationship and plans he is left hurt by her harsh words,
Miranda has not got over losing her mother and is resentful of Matt being in her fathers life feeling she has been pushed to one side.
When she brings her boyfriend and his parents home for Thanksgiving without any information about her family life things are tense before there is a full out explosion.
Matt and Evan are strong together and no matter what games or excuses Miranda made for her poor behaviour they didnt let it go without making her take responsibility for her actions yet they were still sympathetic to the reasons behind her behaviour.
In the end although it was the holidays from hell Matt and Evan pulled together and you could sense how much they cared for each other and how much their relationship had grown.
Not all problems were resolved in the end but they were at least being acknowledged and worked on,

This is almost like a wrap up of a lot of situations from the previous books and a catch up with some of the earlier characters.
To me it was slightly confusing and I felt like I was given information overload as it flipped from situation to situation.
If you want to find out what nearly all the characters from the previous books have been up to or what they are planning in the future then this is the book for you.
The main thing I took away from Blessed that is that Matt and Evan are still very much in love even with all the ups and downs that life presents them.
I think I am right in saying there is a final book due in this series soon and Blessed has paved the way for that perfectly.
My View Narration:
JP Handler is not my favourite narrator but he did a decent job in both these stories.
This is two shorts packaged together in one book
I enjoyed Cherish the Thanksgiving with Miranda's bf and his parents.
Blessed was just OK, We see the couple Evan and Matt on a holiday weekend trip with their friends, I just don't care about Jim and Griffin storyline, I have to admit I stopped reading this almost a year ago, because I felt that Matt and Evan's story had reached true blissful domestic harmony and anything following that would probably be sap.
Well, thanks to Jim and Griffin I wasn't totally wrong, lol, I don't really care about them, but Matt and Evan once again proved that they're my favorite vanilla couple of all time.
Their struggles, their family, their jobs, their sex, everything rings true and has my heart melt!
Cherished was actually a standalone book before it was rereleased as 'Cherished amp Blessed'.
So the second part of the book 'Blessed'! was new for me, It deals with the christening of Bennett and Daisy's baby daughter, Matt, Evan, Jim, Griffin, Shane and Helena are invited and spend a few days at Daisy and Bennett's beach house which is a romantic setting for lots of sex and for Jim and Griffin to reach an important decision.
The book once again emphasized what I love most about this series, Manly cop characters wanting to settle down to raise kids, It totally pushes my buttons, Therefore, Matt and Evan get the full five even though they did drown in sap in some scenes, .

In BookCherish, we get to see the Cerilli family gather for Thanksgiving dinner, What could go wrong
Evan's oldest daughter, Miranda, is being a real bitch, Not only did she neglect to tell her father she has a new boyfriend, Kent, she "forgot" to tell Kent and his family about Evan and Matt.
So when Kent and his parents arrive for Thanksgiving, emotions run high, Of course you get to see Evan try to control his temper, and Matt is trying to handle everything with a smile.
"This family should come with a warning label:
