Acquire Strength For Today Interpreted By John F. MacArthur Jr. Contained In Version
great devotional by John MacArthur! He provides a wonderful analysis on many passages of Scripture that communicate at length on the subject of Christian character, the significance of Christ's llife, death and resurrection, and how we can profit from the trials we face throughout life.
"How blessed is the man whose strength is in You, "
Psalm:, NASB
What a wonderful opportunity you have as a Christian in this modern age to open up the Bible and, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, glean its rich truths for yourself.
Your vitality as a Christian depends on doing just that, For only through consistent Bible study and prayer do you gain the spiritual strength to navigate
each day with wisdom, grace, and integrity,
Offering significantly more than the typical thematic or topical anecdotes of some other devotionals, the indepth Bible exposition of this daily study gives you a firmer grasp on many of the great passages of Scripturepassages that speak at length of Christian character, the meaning behind Christ's death and resurrection, and how we benefit from life's trials.
After a year in God's Word with this book as your companion, you will find that both your walk with Christ and your faith have grown strongerall because you committed yourself to a daily, indepth study of the Scriptures, and to learning more about the God who is your Strength.
One of the best devotionals you can get, I highly recommend it. This is mynd favorite, as his devotional, Drawing Near, is the very best I've ever read, If I had the money, I'd buy these two books for everyone I know, They're that good. He helps you have a much better understanding of core Christian beliefs, how to apply them to your life, and in the process come into a much closer relationship with the Lord.
I love how every month is dedicated to a specific topic to keep the reader well focused! Instead of selecting a random verse MacArthur as he typically does goes deep into explaining all of the nuances, practical applications and the importance of the chosen verse.
This daily devotional is also available online at Gty, org. This book as truly been a blessing for me as it served not so much as a devotional, but a “mini” Bible study for me most days.
There were days that I would take a whole week of reading through and answering the study questions, praying through the Scripture and then listening to the sermon that went along with those days! A person can definitely read as a morning/afternoon/evening “devotional” read but also can definitely be read as study guide along with daily Bible study.
