Enjoy The Scariest Tail (A Wonder Cats Mystery, #4) Crafted By Harper Lin Contained In Copy
Scariest Tail is the fourth book in Harper Lin's paranormal mystery series, This is the second book in the series that I have read even though I generally do not read this genre, I found this story to be on the darker witchcraft side than the prior work, It is almost Halloween in Wonder Falls when Mr, Roy appears to commit suicide, After listening to the details from Jake and Blake, Cath, Bea, and Aunt Astrid think something strange is happening, As they research they find a history of suicides in Wonder Falls around Halloween, Investigation, spells, intrique, romance, blackeyed children, rescues are involved with the witches, cats and police makes this a spellbinding read that I could not put down.
I highly recommend this to those who enjoy paranormal mysteries,
Great addition to the series
This series just keeps getting better and better, Although the book does end on a somewhat cliff hanger, you do feel like you received an ending to the story, Anxiously awaiting the next book, A new kind of demon is running around Wonderfalls and its driving people to suicide, how rude! Daring to take on the aspect of something that should be innocent children.
And worse yet, having the audacity to go after Jake! Well our Greenstone witches will not have it! No sir, They may have to hide what they are to keep themselves safe, but they doesn't mean they won't use it to keep others safe.
It is kind of a witch's purpose after all, And my personal favorite thing is a little heart to heart cat mom moment with Cath and Treacle, I got this book because I'm a member of the author's review crew, Thanks once again for providing me with the book!
I have to say that this is my favourite of the series so far.
The Scariest Tail was, to me, definitely the scariest book, The protagonists are being pulled deeper into the magical world and their opponents are growing stronger and stronger, This book also provides just enough amount of romantic tension, but does not indulge in any cliché way, since Cath is anything but a cliché character.
Overall I liked it very much, The book can be read as a standalone, although I recommend checking out the rest of the series, if only for the sake of reading these excellent little books.
I was given this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, I really enjoyed this book, This book revolves around an urban legend involving black eyed kids, A couple of these kids try to enter one of the houses and gets the Greenstones and their cats investigating this legend, It definitely has a lot of twists and turns in it, Can't wait to read the next book in this series, This book is theth book in the series but could be read as a stand alone book, Huh This isn't really a mystery it's more along the lines of, 'we know
there are paranormal bad guys about, and how are we going to do battle with them'.
Also, needs moar cat!!!! This installment is more about the progression of various interpersonal plot lines, Jake is becoming more comfortable with with inlaws, while someone else discovers that the women aren't quite what they seem and reacts much as Jake first did.
The story sort of just ends the final showdown with the 'blackeyed kids' will apparently happen offstage, If there is nothing more to the tale the women do the ritual and it's boringly successful I don't think we necessarily need a description, but I wish the author had wrapped it up in this book.
I'm betting that Blake's new dog is a fullsize poodle : Each story in this series is better then the last, The story quickly drew me in and kept me reading, This story deals with an urban legend, at least that is what the detectives want to believe, This particular story was more dark and eerie than previous installments of the series, It involves blackeyed children and a murder,
The Greenstones and their cats must work quickly to keep the evil darkness from permeating through the layers of the universe, There is a twist at the end that was completely unexpected and has me on the seat of my chair waiting for the next installment of the series.
While the story can be read as a standalone, I do recommend reading them in order, There are subtle nuances that occur in previous books that will allow you to enjoy the story more fully, I'm looking forward to what happens next!
I received a copy of this manuscript from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Harper Lin knows her craft, This Wonder Cats Mystery is set in October, Until now, Lin has focused more on the romance side of her paranormal mystery series, Not so here. In October, horror comes to Wonder Falls, As readers know, the Greenstone Witches are benevolent, Bea is a healer, Aunt Astrid a seer, and Cath who tells us her story, can speak and understand animals, The three stand steadfast against any evil that might come their way, Evil brings it on. We have demonic children who feed on fear, haunted houses, and most terrifying, a Cluthu like monster,
It begins with a suicide, a normal man with a lot to live for hangs himself, Jake senses enough is wrong that he asks his wife our witches for advice, Blake is his usual skeptical self, The witches consult their familiars, each cat agrees something is off, darkness is coming, Using their witchy ways , the ladies decide to cautiously investigate, Two of the triad vote for caution, Cath as usual thinks for herself, She decides a hands on investigation is needed,
This leads her to an amusing scene with Blake as they both were staking out the same house, Readers will smile. Finally Cath realizes there might be a spark of romance brewing, He is not so uptight after all, But evil has the edge, in a nail biting conclusion Cath and Blake are trapped in
a secluded mansion with both their souls and their lives hanging in the balance.
This is the perfect October read for our own scary times,
Recommended for readers of paranormal fiction and lovers of horror, Not for young YA readers, Oh my gosh this was scary! Ok I am a chicken and the level of fear I tolerate is super low, but this gave me the creeps!
Blackeyed creepy kids are not that cosy! But this gave maybe a few thrills I hadnt realised were maybe missing from the previous books.
The story felt haunting and the stakes were quite high, The house scenes were welldone to be super eerie and the ending!
Bookin the Wonder Cat series is perhaps the best story thus far, Not sure why I say that except it seemed to flow effortlessly, and the witch element was realistic well as realistic as a witch can be! Cath and the cats continue to talk through their minds, but in this book it seemed like they were more helpful than before.
I also was impressed with how all the witch business coordinated with running the restaurant and fitting in with friends, In previous books it felt like life stopped so the three women could take care of witch business, This time they kept everything going smoothly, I have to say there was a lot of exciting parts of this book and a twist I didn't expect,
Be sure and read the books in order to get to know the characters and their lives, It will make this story more meaningful, The Scariest Tail from The Wonder Cats mysteries series yet! From USA TODAY Bestselling Author Harper Lin:
Strange things are happening in Wonder Falls before Halloween.
Jake and Blake investigate a death that involves blackeyed kids, The detectives want to believe its an urban legend until a couple of these creepy children try to enter the homes of Jake and Min, terrifying them both.
Cath, Bea, and Aunt Astrid trace the source of these demon kids to a secluded mansion in town, where cruel creatures and mysterious events are festering.
The Scariest Tail is theth novel in a cozy paranormal mystery series featuring modernday witches and their magic cats.
This is a continuation of a series I started some time ago, I enjoyed it, so decided to get a couple more, The Greenstone women are modernday witches who run a coffee shop: Aunt Astrid, her daughter Bea who is married to policeman Jake, and her niece Cath, who is the narrator of the tales.
Each woman has a cat, and as Cath's gift is to talk to animals, the cats often feature in the story, In this story, Jake and his partner Blake are investigating a death that involves the sighting of scary blackeyed children, who apparently feed on fear.
They think it's an urban legend, until some of the children try to enter their homes, The women trace the demon kids to a local mansion where they try to clean things up,
This was a good story, a little creepier than I remember the earlier ones being, but it definitely holds your attention! Definitely the scariest book.

I got addicted to this series so sad when I read the last book!!! Leave the lights on
I just loved this book and I know that may sound lame but if a book scares you so you want to leave the lights on or only read in the daylight the author is doing something right.
We get jaded by horror stories we read but this was something new, I don't know how I will wait for the next installment, I'm watching Harper. John Roy has committed suicide and his wife said that two black eyed children came into the house to use the phone the night before his death.
Astrid, Bea, and Cath know something is wrong and begin to research what it is and what to do to stop it, They realize someone has called a very powerful demon who feeds off fear, Can they stop it
I was held enthralled by this tale, Evil is upon Wonder Falls and it is up to our heroines to sort it out, Cath is also getting closer to acknowledging her feelings for Blake, I loved watching the women and their cats fight back the evil, I enjoyed that Cath was not as well behaved as she should have and suffered the consequences for it, I am po'd at Blake, I'd like to smack him upside the head,
