fun read. A quick read. Very muck in the style of Stephanie Plum or Kinky Friedman though not nearly as offensive as a Kinky book!, The book could have used a proofreading editor to help catch those poorly written sentences and few typos, however, There were several times that I had to reread a sentence after asking myself, "What is he trying to say" All the characters are fun and likable, which is important for me in a series if I am going to continue reading in the next book.
And I now read the first of three books in thispart trilogy! This book is fun, Bolton's characters come alive as you read, The plot has many twists that kept me entertained and intrigued, Once I started, I didn't want to put it down, I can't wait to start the next book in the series and see how the characters develop, This is the second book in this mystery series, I will have to go back and read book one, Let me start off by saying, if you are easily offended, DO NOT read this book! Personally, I thought it was fantastic! B, B. Rivers is a larger than life former rodeo cowboy turned PI turned stay at home dad, When a friend's brother is murdered in prison after giving B, B. some information about what's really going on behind bars, B, B. alerts the FBI and brings down the wrath of a gang of mercenaries on himself and his family, You have to read the book to find out what happens, but let me tell you, I LOVE B, B. 's mom! Married with a baby girl, Austin rodeo cowboy turned private eye, B, B. Rivers opens an office on Sixth Street, Between tracking tomcats and staking out Mom's garden, he lands a money job, Car salesman, Poodie Slack's brother, incarcerated for rolling back speedometers, is petrified, Breaking into the slammer posing as Father B, B. , he discovers somebody sure as hell wants him off the case, The Hippie Hollow gang returns Max, Auntie Loo, Patricia, T, Rex and Angel Chai in the hilarious, action packed sequel, I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway,
B. B. Rivers is a former rodeo cowboy turned PI, newly married and with a baby on the way, he accepts a case that takes him to a prison and to one very frightened inmate.
Someone apparently does not want B, B on the case and will do whatever to get him off the case, Including murder.
This is the second in a series, I had not read the first, but I think the author did a sufficient job of setting the scene so that not being aware of things that happened in first book were made clear to me in this one.
I was pretty much able to figure it out based on the story line, so ok for anyone to pick this one up without having read the first.
I'm giving thisstars, On the positive note, I did laugh out loud several times in the book, I felt sometimes like B, B was a male Stephanie Plum it had that feel to it a bit, On the other hand, some of the book felt like the author was trying a bit too hard to create a character that broke the mold.
I liked it ok not the best I've ever read, but certainly not the worst,
No doubt about it, if I didnt read so much Id probably write a hell of
a lot books, Dont even know how many books Ive writtenB, B. Rivers mystery action adventure novels, I was hoping for a trilogy but somehow ended up with, with one on the way, Thisth one is to be titled The Incredible Shrinking Ego Murder on the Edge and takes place not only in Austin, Texas as usual but also in the jungles of Guatemala.
Ive got another series for all ages I call Family Fiction featuring Harley, a retired meter reader who cant stop walking and picks up litter around his town.
He lives in the woods with his pet raccoon, There are three books in this series, No doubt about it, if I didn't read so much I'd probably write a hell of a lot books, Don't even know how many books I've writtenB, B.
