Dive Into An A To Z Walk In The Park (Animal Alphabet Book) Originated By R.M. Smith Formatted As Brochure
was fortunate enough to win a copy of An A to Z Walk In the Park from Goodreads, An A to Z Walk In the Park is a delightful book for children, with amazing artwork, The animals chosen are cute and cover the alphabet from Alligator to Zebu, and the author's descriptions are clever and fun,
I will be sharing this book with my greatnephew, I'm sure he will enjoy the pictures, Am anxious to get this book in the mail, I won it on the Goodreads giveaway, I love childrens books because of the illustrations so can't wait to see the way the alphabet is presented,
Received the book last week, Cute enough. Could be tongue twister to read, Thought the illustrations would be better, I have someone in mind to pass it on to whom I think will enjoy it, I won this book on a goodreads contest, I just received it, and read it to my three year old, He lost interest really quickly, The language in the book is a little awkward, It almost feels like the author went through the dictionary to find as many animals as he could for each letter, no matter how obscure.
The illustrations are pretty good, This book is more than just an alphabet book, It's poetic and fun to read which is more than can be said for most alphabet books, The pictures in the book are full of color and detail and give young minds plenty of things to investigate and keep their interest.
I love the use of advanced vocab words in this book kids have got to learn what "affable" "guise" and "genial" mean at some point, why keep those out of children's books And the animals that the author comes up with are great and educational with accurate illustrations which is very important.
A wonderful book, all around! As a grandmother and former teacher, I found this a delightful picture book! You are led into an animal park by mysterious footprints to find pages chockfull of animals, who are realistically drawn for easy identification.
Some are very familiar so little ones can call out their names others are new and challenging for older children who might want to do further research.
Can YOU identify the Javelina the Kinkajou the Zorilla The text is spare but fun to read, as it is full of alliteration: "Lucky to lure in the king of the jungle, the letter "Ll" lucks out with a Lion, a Llama, and a lounging Leopard.
" My grandson and I love it! An A to Z Walk in the Park by R, M. Smith is a fun book that packs a lot of information intopages, As a librarian who works in a system that supports the Every Child Ready to Read literacy program, I found Smith's book to be very useful in fostering all six of the preliteracy skills that children need to master in order to learn to read: Print Awareness, Letter Knowledge, Print Motivation, Vocabulary, Narrative Skills, and Phonological Awaress.
The use of upper and lowercase letters and the alliteration that often read like tonguetwisters help with Letter Knowledge and Phonological Awareness.
The labeling of the different animals, especially the rare animals, which will be new to many children help with Vocabulary and Narrative Skills as parents engage their children in dialogue about the different animals.
The use of different colored text to highlight the animal names helps with Print Awareness and the engaging graphics help with Print Motivation by bringing the text to life.
In addition, a quick trip to the website sitelinkwww, atozwalk. com yielded a treasure trove of activities that can be used to reinforce the six skills with animal fun facts, coloring sheets, and word searches.
My only complaint is that it is a paperback, which is great for home use, but makes for a short life in a public library.
Overall, it is well worth the! Take a journey upon a path that winds into a park full of wild and not so wild creatures from A to Z.
This picture book is designed to help children learn their ABC's while identifying much of the animal kingdomthere are overanimals to explore.
In addition to learning the alphabet, An A to Z Walk In the Park was created with the idea of how great it would be to read and connect many animals with their names easily in one book! There is even an index! read a book This book looked like it would be more fun than it really was.
The vocabulary is way too obscure for the type of readers who would be likely to pick up an alphabet book the pictures are not the nicest and my personal pet peeve the paper smells really bad.
