on The Lords Secret (The Regency Renegades, #2, Beauty and Titles)

Aaron amp Shauna reconnect after a six year absence, Aaron has a health problem and Shauna has a secret, But they find the flame of love still burns brightly, They have a story to tell that is filled with a mystery to solve, Lots of suspense and excitement will keep one enthralled, Regency romances are a favorite and this one is a gem, I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, Five. This is an engrossing, dramatic and suspenseful story, The storyline is exciting and entertaining, the main group of characters are all interesting, Aaron is a nice guy and very charming, but he's also too rigid, Shauna is a strong survivor who who doesn't expect anything from life except hardship, Though the two of them are madly in love, and have been for years, they won't marry because they both think that he needs a noble wife.
But circumstances can change thinking, and so can an unknown child, Friendship

I really enjoyed this read, Not only was I returning back to characters that I was introduced to in "The Earl's New Identity".

It was so fun to also follow along with the reenactment planning, I have always loved reenactments and want to act in them someday, so it was fun to feel like a part of the action.
I was surprised to see how the two conflicts

Something I love most about this author's writing is the close friendships that the characters have.
It makes me enjoy the read and also look forward to more books about them,

I was surprised at times that this book seemed to focus half the time on the relationship problems of Lola and Wesley.
I am use to reading books where main characters in one book become minor characters in the next, but I think this is the first time I have seen them still stay in the forefront and experience conflict amongst themselves.
It is definitely a new element for me and I haven't decided how much I like it.
If the author continues to do that with future books, then I think it is definitely a unique and defining element.
There is truth in relationships continuing to have problems far after the assumed "happily ever after" so it is an element of realism.
Loved this multifaceted story!

Though I would appreciate more depth to the characters, I did really enjoy the storyline.
There just seems to be so much room to develop Aaron's background and his shipmates, instead of just stating facts about their pasts.
But I get that these are meant to be good quick reads and they do deliver there.
I enjoyed this historical romance about a group of friends and lovers who meet again during a military reenactment.
Aaron and Shauna were involved before in a passionate love affair but it was ended due to their differences when he inherited a title.
He never knew about the child that was a result of that affair until he sees a little girl that looks like him and his sister in a crowd.

I really liked Aaron, He tries so hard to do what is right but sometimes it leads him to wrong choices.
He really wants to take care of his little girl, Shauna is harder to connect to for me, She tends to make judgements and be a little too jealous of others when they have done nothing wrong to her.
It seemed like she would have told him about their daughter if only to make sure she had the resources she needed.
She was very quick to not want her daughter to desire nice things,

I enjoyed the fact that there were several relationships that comprised the story, It showed that love is a great foundation but does not solve all your problems and that communication is so important.
I liked that the female characters were not looking for heros and expected to have to be strong.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, During a landbased naval enactment Lord Aaron sees his long lost love after being separated for six years because of her lack of rank.
The story wrongly calls Shauna a peasant a peasant is a lowly paid worker of the land.
Can they this time have a happy ending,
The story was fair enough though we really didn't learn that much about their characters, The Lords Secret is a suspenseful Regency romance, where the group of naval officers and friends once more come together to solve a mystery.
The men are more like brothers than friends and the women in their lives are intelligent, if a bit unconventional.
However, I was a little disappointed as the plot was not as developed as it could have been and the language was modern with American English, phrases and slang.
Even though Shauna and Aaron had been in love for a number of years, I got the feeling that they were more friends than lovers and I felt that the romance could have been more expressive.
Gwendolyn was the star of the show and I did enjoy her character, I do believe that this writer has talent, however she does need to do a bit more research into the Regency era.
The book is clean and can be read by any age group, I did not want to put this one down, Enjoyed the mystery. The hero's health problem also added to the story, The description of the war camp reenactment was really interesting, I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, Got this book from the author for an honest review Very good read, gives you some scares but Aaron gets some surprises his health is still not good I am so glad for Shauna she deserves some good in her life Wesley is very good at solving the mysteries going on he and Lola have some big spats in this one.
Can't wait for the next one, Read in two days couldn't put it down, Aaron and Shauna have loved each other for years, but decided they could not marry because he was heir to his fathers title and she was a merchants daughter and a teacher.
Six years later, they meet quite by chance and Aaron
Gather The Lords Secret (The Regency Renegades, #2, Beauty And Titles) Prepared By Jasmine Ashford File
learns that Shauna has kept a secret from him, his daughter.
While there will still be problems, Aaron and Shauna would like nothing better than to find a way for them to be together as a family.
The Lords Secret is a wonderful second chance story, We meet again all the characters from the first installment of this series, Wesley and Lola are still trying to work out their relationship, Annabelle and Harold seem closer to their wedding, and Matheson and Corrigan are there to help where needed and just as likeable as before.
Of course the path to renewed love is not easy, On the way there is a recruitment maneuver that is plagued by a traitorous plot to blow it up, the mystery of who is behind such a plot, a kidnapping and an exciting rescue.
And last, but certainly not least, the wedding that Annabelle has been planning takes place, but with a few changes.
The second installment in Jasmine Ashfords Regency Renegades has a page turning plot and well developed strong characters.
This series already has a little bit of everything adventure, mystery, humor, and romance, and it appears it just keep getting better.
Read and enjoy. .
