I'm just angry I chose this book to be myth read of this year, What a waste.
So far, all the books Ward and Keeland wrote together were winners to me, . . until this book. It wasn't even enjoyable. It was boring from pagetill the end and I didn't like the characters, I hate it when the hero and heroine first meet and the hero is downright unprofessional, The minute Simon who's a doctor and Bridget met Simon was her doctor, Simon was unprofessional and flirtatious and that simply does not sit with me.
Bridget was average and just meh,
Also, we get a reveal around the end of the book which pissed me to no ends because I hate this specific kind of reveal.
I won't state it obviously because it's a spoiler,
Oh well. Overall a good read. Would I read it again Likely not,
The Good:
Hero is great, even tho he's too much of a smart ass to begin with.
Nothing but sexual innuendos on the brain, I've never liked those kinds of smart asses, not in real life and I certainly don't like seeing them in my "escape life.
" But the Hero grows and shows how great he is, but that's also sort of an issue, see below,
The Mixed,
There is actual story, I was sort of imagining this to be sex every other page, but there's actually not a whole lot of drawn out sex which is also a problem, since it disappoints my expectations.
While there's plent instances of sexual activity, the descriptions themselves aren't all that, . . igniting. I've read a LOT better sex scenes in other books,
The heroine, while likeable and relatable, didn't really have to grow with the Hero much, It was all him bending over backwards for her, not the other way around, She's just being her, that's all, The only thing she did differently, is go a little wilder in sex with him, So I didn't think it was an equal relationship in that sense,
Then there are the stuff that's like why did you put it in there Just to show how great the Hero is Like the obnoxious parents.
The not so great dead husband, These things didn't do anything but serve to make the Hero even more heroic, I think those pages could have been better spent developing the heroine some more,
And like I said in my notes I felt like the Brit accent, the way he spoke, wasn't terribly believable.
If one or both the authors are British, then OK, my bad, But having lived in London, I just somehow don't buy it,
So,.to.stars. I rounded up. .“OMG. LOVE. ” Stars.
The dream team is back, you guys, with another hit novel thatll own you from the first to the last word.
This story had me hooked, Completely. Im honestly so impressed with Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, These authors are two of the most incredible writers around, If youre looking for a quality read, a wellwritten novel with heart and heat, these two are guaranteed to deliver, Whether theyre writing books separately or together, it doesnt matter, theyre masters of their craft, always telling a story thatll win you over.
To say Im impressed is an understatement, To say Im a fan would be putting it lightly, Im completely consumed by their books, which feel like pure bookish magic to me,
Bridget Valentine is a widower, a single mom, and a nurse, Her top priority in life is her son, and it shows in everything that she does, Bridget is a dedicated mom and one of those characters you will immediately fall in love with, Sweet and funny, authentic and totally relatable, there wasnt a single thing about this girl that I didnt love,
Simon Hogue is in his last year of medical residency, Originally from the UK, hes living in the US with plans to return home after finishing school, Simon is a charmer. From the second you meet him, youre completely smitten with his smooth talking, dirty mouth, But even though Simon is one heck
of a playboy, behind that exterior is a soft hearted man thats downright dreamy.
Simon and Bridgets meet cute is absolutely hilarious, HILARIOUS. I laughed out loud. And that funny continued throughout the book, The smile on my face, the tingling in my belly, the excitement that hit me whenever these two were in the same place was the absolute BEST.
They had chemistry you could feel and it was intoxicating,
Dear Bridget, I Want You was delicious, A slow building romance thatll have you holding your breath, swooning and wanting, Fate intervenes in Simon and Bridgets life, forcing them together after their initial meeting, in the most fantastic way, Not only do they end up working at the very same hospital, but Simon becomes Bridgets roommate! From there a friendship is formed as fun, flirty, witty banter ensues thatll have you blushing and dying over just how cute these two are.
Simon and Bridget are truly the best,
From the beginning to the end, I loved this book, I felt like everything flowed perfectly, And as usual, Vi and Penelope slayed it with twist that I did NOT see coming! I seriously did not see that coming.
At all. Ever. Not at anytime, hahahaha! It was unreal, Overall, I cant say enough good things, Im still trying to recover from the swoon that overcame me as I read this standalone romance, It was cute, funny, sexy, heartfelt, everything that makes for a perfect book, I absolutely recommend it and I cant wait for you to meet this adorable couple, .
