: I loved this book! I think it's super unique amp fun because it's interactive! It gives a bunch of dinosaur facts that I think the kids would really like! The pictures are also super amazing amp detailed! Real dinosaur facts along with the thrill if the chase.

I love Nibbles the Book Monster and this sequel of sorts is just as amazing, I laughed so much at the humor within the pages and enjoyed all of the dinosaur illustrations, actions, and facts, This book is just as much for adults as it is for children and I'd recommend it forth grade on up for understanding wise and for more of the humor to be appreciated.

We love Nibbles, We have a stuffed Nibbles and have read the first one so many times and it is one of my husbands favorite picture bookshe says it is so unique.
I am probably majorly biased when it comes to this review because OF COURSE we loved this one also, What is so interesting about this new book is that it takes the concept of Nibbles a book eating monster and takes him on a timetraveling adventure to the age of the dinosaurs using his eating/transporting powers.
It is funny and educational, Just as the first one combined Nibbless antics with fairy tales, this one combined Nibbles with dinosaurs education! Not as good as the first one but I did learn some facts about dinosaurs that I dont know before.

I just adored the first Nibbles book and was hoping that there would be more Nibbles.
There are still so many more books for Nibbles to nibble on, Imagine my delight when I saw there would be a new Nibble book featuring one of my all time favourite subjects: Dinosaurs!

This time Nibbles is eating a dinosaur guide, so follow the hunt to find Nibbles as he eats his way through dinosaurs noooo, dad!.
You can imagine the dinosaurs aren't amused by this little critter that is nibbling his way through their lives, friends, family, and trees,

I loved the little footprints that were scattered throughout the pages, plus I had so much fun finding Nibbles, Then there are flaps you can open up for even more adventures and fun hidden secrets,

And be prepared to laugh your butt off, there are lots of funny jokes and even some terrible ones :P, and also there are nibble holes in the previous page highlight a dinosaur and something he says quite often hilarious.


I just adored how the last page and the blurb of the book connect together plus those poor dinosaurs, I did notice the hole of course, but had no idea that it connected the flying Nibbles to those pages,

The art is still fabulous, Nibbles is an adorable monster though very naughty, Plus I love how the dinosaurs were drawn,

Nibbles is a bookivore monster who has nibbled his way through several books but finds this dinosaur guide especially delicious, My kids laughed out loud at every page so did my husband and we all left knowing more about dinosaur poop than I think any of us thought possible.


This is a great pick for all the dinosaur enthusiastsyears old Listening to my daughterlaugh hysterically as she "reads" this book to herself makes me so happy.
This book is also makes a great read aloud, Preschoolers love to exclaim "oh, nibbles" as they fall over laughing, Some of you may already be aware of Nibbles, He is a little monster that likes to nibble everything, Nibble nibbles socks, Nibble nibbles clocks, but the thing that Nibble likes to nibble most is books! Therefore, putting him in a book is not the safest place as he will try and eat his way out.
Whilst the first book saw the tyke getting into trouble

in fairy tales, this time it is nonfiction that has whetted his appetite and in particular a book all about dinosaurs.


Nibbles has escaped once more, but instead of devouring Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks, he is munching his way through the Jurassic era.
Although he himself is a monster, Nibbles is only small so when the dinosaurs find out that he is causing trouble they decide to chase him from their book.
Can Nibbles escape the Land of the Dinosaurs before being stomped on

They are few books that broke theth wall better than the original Nibbles.
Here was a character that could hop in and out of famous stories by eating his way around, This meant that the layout of the book was a triumph glorious hardback with mini books contained within, There is hours of fun just to be had peering through the various holes in the book that Nibbles made, More of the same would have been great, but with The Dinosaur Guide it is a case of more of the similar, showing that changing something small can make a big difference.


The fact that this is nonfiction, rather than fiction means that the book feels quite different, It made a kind of twisted sense that Nibbles would eat fairy tales and disrupting well known stories means that you know what trouble he is causing as his antics alter the original narrative.
By consuming nonfiction, this structure is missing, Instead you have a creature venturing forth through a typical encyclopaedia style fact book, When he gets in the way of a dinosaur they pop out of their frames and chase him, It does work, but the fun of disrupting traditional folk tales is far greater than just a chase book filled with angry dinosaurs,

Despite the subject matter not being as keen as the first title, the structure of the book is still a tour de force.
This is a wonderful Ahardback full of flaps that can he looked under, More often than not you will find a big hole behind it that Nibbles has created, In terms of interaction, the fun is still wonderful, You can also learn a little if you read around the holes as there are some genuine Dino facts on offer,

The issue with this title is that the narrative structure is missing by the decision to use nonfiction, In its stead Emma Yarlett has increased the cheek factor, The first book had a little mild naughtiness, but Dinosaur Guide has brought out the crassness, There is more than one reference to dinosaur poo in this book, The original did not need to resort to this humour, I cannot help feeling that one or two more childrens story based outings would have been nice before tackling dinosaurs, What you have is a very well put together book that lacks the satisfaction of the first, Many children will still enjoy this outing, but it is just not up to muster, Original review on thebookbag. co. uk
