This study concluded that the Lincoln Highway's significance is reflected in three of these four criteria.
It is an outstanding example of a particular type of resource it possesses exceptional value or quality in illus frating or interpreting the natural or cultural themes of our nation's heritage and it offers superlative opportunities for public enjoyment or for scientific study.
However, because a variety of road and roadside resources contribute to the significance of the Lincoln Highway, it would be important for a wide cross section of those resources to be present throughout the corridor, nationally, at a density that would approximate the highways appearance during its period of significance in order for the entire highway to retain integrity.
Unfortunately, there are large stretches of this corridor that retain only one or two features to remind today's travelers of the history of the road.
