Secure A Dead And Stormy Night (Nevermore Bookshop Mysteries, #1) Developed By Steffanie Holmes Edition

on A Dead and Stormy Night (Nevermore Bookshop Mysteries, #1)

I Felt like I was reading a really bad fan fiction "Join a brooding antihero, a master criminal, a cheeky raven, and a heroine with a big heart and an even bigger book collection in this brand new steamy reverse harem paranormal mystery series by USA Today bestselling author Steffanie Holmes.
"

I unfortunately missed that sentence when I read the description, This book was not funny, it was not witty, and it was not original, The book made high school level literary references and then wildly congratulated itself, I didn't understand why anyone would like the protagonist, and I didn't understand why the men were attracted to her, I now hate the word gorgeous,

I suppose this book is readable in like an airplane book kind of way, I've read worse. I suppose it's good if you're completely unimaginative but still want to think about what it would be like if the douchebags from some of the books you read in high school came to life and fell in love with you.
I suppose it could have been worse and the book could have been about a high school girl stuck in the bookshop with Harry Potter, Edward from Twilight, and the tiger from Life of Pi.
.

Imagine your fav bookboyfriend coming to life Thats what happens in this book, This is a reverse harem story where the heroine Mina recently lost her dream job and now she is back in her town where she gets a job in a cursed book store and there she meets heathcliff, a raven, and Morrie.
But they are not just normal people, the raven is Poes raven who can shift into a human, Heathcliff from wuthering heights and James Moriarty, They all found themselves out of the book into the real world one day and they dont know how they got there, Just when Mina was starting a new life, she becomes the main suspect of her best friends murder but Mina along with the guys finds out who the real culprit is.

Soo. . i didnt think i ll be hooked to this book till the end and devour each page, So much suspense romance hilarious scenes, Oh god, i enjoyed reading this book so much, I was in full detective mode and tried to solve the case along the characters, it felt like i was watching a romcom/ crime movie or smtg, The way Mina and her guys solved the murder i was like DUDE YOU GUYS ARE SMART, . There were some funny scenes which made me laugh and then it was serious because Mina was suffering from smtg and she just wanted a normal life where she had her dream job but then she gets involved in the murder case and alsohot fictional characters.
I like Heathcliffs character, he was grumpy and he was her boss cuz he owned the bookstore, The way he behaved with his customers was so funny, Then there is Morrie who is ofc the smart one, he was flirty and confident, Then there is the raven aka Qouth who is a bird but can transform into a human, He is kinda broken cuz he thinks he is useless and has no purpose but he is a great artist and Mina helps him acknowledge his talent,

Overall i really loved this book but the chemistry between them was lacking a bit, maybe cuz they are like fictional characters whom we already have read about in other books but also i liked their bonding.
They helped Mina and didnt let her suffer, The whole killer thing was cool and fun to read, i legit suspected everyone and it was easy to guess who the killer is but also it was amazing to see how they solved the case.

After being diagnosed with a deteriorating eye condition and losing her dream job, Mina runs back to her quaint English village to reevaluate her life, When she finds out her childhood haven, Nevermore Bookshop, is hiring she applies for the job, However, things are weird at Nevermore, it's being run by Heathcliff, James Moriarty and Poe's Raven,

Mina's life becomes very complicated by the three hot men in her life she's lusting over, When her exbest friend is murdered in the bookshop and Mina becomes the chief suspect, she'll need all the help she can get from Heath, Morrie and Quoth in order to stay out of jail.

This was such a fun book, I loved Mina and her quirky personality, Also her thoughts about the guys made me laugh so much, The girl has no thought filter and I loved it, The romance was really good and hot as heck, Cannot wait to see what's going to happen between Mina and her dark bois,

To be honest, I had guessed the murderer pretty early on, The reasons were a little convoluted, but I was more invested in Mina's life story than the actual murder mystery here, Plus there's the whole phenomenon of the shop bringing literally characters to lifeI want answers, Kindle Unlimited.

This was a cute premise, I love the idea of fictional characters coming to life, I love the mystery of the bookstore, and the tension of Mina losing her eyesight, The sexual chemistry between thecharacters is a little weird for me though, What a fantastic story! Favorite characters coming out of books Count me in, I would love my book boyfriends coming to life, Sigh, thats the dream. On top of that getting an incredible job in a bookstore, I mean what can go wrong! Thats a dream come true,

Mina the fmc just lost her dream job and is forced to move back home, The only job shes found is working at the Nevermore bookstore, which she practically grew up in, Heathcliff is the owner, hes grumpy, broody, and overall lacking in people skills, yet his personality fits him, and of course hes easy to look at, James Moriarty is one of the flat mates, Hes a master criminal whos too good looking for his own good, Last but not least, is Quoth, hes quiet, gorgeous and well, hes Poes raven, Its a murder mystery Minas ex bff gets murdered and Mina is the main suspect, They all must work together to solve the murder and prove her innocence, Theres a bit of steamy goodness, but their chemistry could use a bit of work, Overall though its funny, quirky, engaging, intriguing, and mysterious, I really enjoyed this start to the series and their crazy antics, Im looking forward to seeing what adventure awaits these guys next! Pleasant read but not enough oompf to really excite me to continue reading, Best Twist Ever

Holmes is one amazing writer!! I fell in love from page with our down on her luck MC that is hoping to score a job at Nevermore bookstore.
After one wonky interview she scored the job which will change her life forever as the story unfolds, I was totally riveted as it all played and I loved the idea for the male characters, With so much fun stuff in this one I cannot wait for book two!! A total must read!! I loved it so I give it/stars, This was so good! The characters are fantastic, I love that it takes place in an old bookshop that has been cursed to cause book characters to come to life, Freaking awesome!

So Mina starts working there for the grouchy shop owner Heathcliff yep, from Withering Heights, Also living with him in the upstairs rooms is James Moriarty yes, from Sherlock Holmes and a Raven from the poem by Edgar Allan Poe, Then there is a murder, right there in the bookstore, and its Minas exbest friend, Well, now Mina is suspect number one, and the guys help her solve the murder, This is a reverse harem too, What Yes, Im freaking delighted, And, its a slowly unfolding RH, More realistic.

This is such a fun book, and its the first in a series, The murder is solved in this one, but Im sure there will be another in book twowhich I ordered and should arrive tomorrow, YAY!!

So if you enjoy RH Romance, paranormal, suspenseful mystery and books, well you are gonna love this one!! Highly recommended!! Downloaded this on impulse and WOW was it a good idea! There's great banter between the characters, and the author manages to bring her men Moriarty, Heathcliff, and the raven from 'Nevermore' to life without me wanting to cringe.
Love this series! It was funny and engaging,

This was such a novel premise pardon the pun that even moments where I wasnt enjoying the story so much yes, Im looking at you Minas mum still didnt put me off this story.
Having the character struggling to deal with certain issues beyond her control was a nice touch as having a MC who skates through a story easily, or problem free, is boring.
However add in Moriarty, Heathcliff and Poe, and youve got yourself an interesting hook,

The murder of the exBFF was pretty run of the mill, yet the author added in some extra goodness to spice it up, Just wish that any romance had of developed gradually over time, not thrust upon us, Its almost as annoying as instalove in books,

Still, Grimalkin was adorable, and the uncovering the mystery of Nevermore has tempted me into picking up book,

DNF. This seems to be becoming a theme for me lately,

I found Mina obnoxious and whiny, the guys were blahalthough the author told us all about their personalities and how we should feel about them, we are not really shownand the "murder mystery" was eye rolling at best.

This was so good!
I absolutely adore the concept and the overreaching plot of the story,
So freaking cool.
I went in, hoping for a spicy cozy mystery, and thats exactly what I got, With a pinch of the paranormal to make it even better,

The mystery part of the book was woven into every bit of it, helping along the relationships as it went,
It wasnt a hard mystery to solve, I did figure it out Very early on, but Im not disappointed by that, honestly, It was still really entertaining watching them work to solve it,

And the men!
Fuck are they hot,
Theyre all familiar, from famous and much loved classics, but they are still their own unique characters who offer new adventures,
Im looking forward to getting to know them all better and seeing how the relationships evolve throughout the series,

Im just really looking forward to seeing what the hell happens next,
This was fun, and I loved the banter and the teasing that came with the grumpy characters,

Im so glad I decided to pick this up, Thank you TikTok for yet another winner, Fun idea but meh. I decided to pick off where I left it and decided that while it isn't a dreamboat of a book it is still a cozy read and decidedly a fun mystery novel.

A story set in heaven a gigantic secondhand bookstore with infamous Heathcliff, criminal mastermind Moriarty and a sweet gorgeous mess named Quoth
Yes please.

Mina is going blind and has her fashion dream taken away from her, Forced to go back to her boring hometown, she lands a job in the only place she ever felt at home: the Nevermore Bookshop,
But the Nevermore Bookshop isn't just the second biggest secondhand bookstore in the country, it's a magical and mysterious place where famous fictional characters might or might not come alive.

First book in the series, A dead and stormy night is a delicious cocktail of literature, mystery, hotness and grumpiness, The dynamics between this improbable group is absolutely delightful, the sexual tension through the roof, the multiple influences from famous books delectable and the humor sassy, It's a little bit of Agatha Christie, of Conan Doyle, of Allan Poe, of Jane Austen, of Emily Bronte, and it's a real pleasure to read,

For:
The RH fanatics
All the bookworm in the world
Little detective bees

Is Heathcliff as a contemporary grumpy love interest panty melting
Fuck yes.
Cozy mystery meets fantasy story,

A fashion designer is losing her eyesight so goes home to rural England and gets a job at used Bookstore, Characters from famous books have been brought to life and are running store, A murder happens and Mina is prime suspect, so they all have to figure out who did it,

It was a predictable mystery, but the idea of a slowly developing disability is interesting, And that characters are coming out of books is unique, So below average plot, but above average premise, Completely fun and enjoyable and exactly what I needed right now, A clever heroine, with some actual challenges, a whole bunch of quirky literary references, a bookshop setting, a little bit of spice and nontraditional relationships not tons in this first one, but I hear the series adds more of this as it continues.
There are Poe and Wuthering Heights and Sherlock Holmes allusions galore, and I'm here for it, I want to read them all, Get it here:

This was a really interesting story and one I thought was pretty unique, The mystery kept me intrigued while still having an easy vibe that made it an easy book to put down when I needed to and still had me wanting to come back to it.
