of the same and it's very much the same, given that this is little more than a rehash of the author's earlier offering, 'The Boy in the Red Dress', albeit with a different outcome.
Mr Frank's works are all pretty similar to a large degree and many of the regulars are here: the concerned, caring mother the stuffy, bigoted father and the selfish, manipulative sister chief among them.
Furthermore, I spotted only one character name that hasn't been used in previous books, causing me to wonder if the author isn't thumbing his nose at his readership with this book.
Either way, it's just as well that these characters are cardboard cutouts, given the frequency with which they're recycled and clearly, this author has never worked in the field of education, unless it was many years ago any teacher who not only tolerated but also participated in the use of abusive terminology towards a pupil wouldn't last very long in the job.
As usual, Mr Frank leaves us with a bleak ending and also as usual clearly can't be bothered to depict the aftermath,
I cannot NOT recommend this book strongly enough, Ending
What an awful ending, life has enough sad endings, fiction could give us happy endings
That's the last Russell Frank book I shall read Starting off say the ending is messed up and wrong, it instantly changed my opinion on this author/story.
I enjoyed everything all the way up
to the ending, self discovery was well done and even though the sister helped for the wrong reasons, she was still a great sister.
The ending is probably one of the worst things I have ever read, I will never ready anything from this author again, One star for the rest of the story that I enjoyed a lot, but the ending ruined it all and I can never suggest this story or author to anyone.
