Unlock The Secrets Of Masters Of The Living Energy: The Mystical World Of The Q'ero Of Peru Originated By Joan Parisi Wilcox Accessible Through Physical Edition
you are serious about studying and practicing Shamanism read this, then read it again, JOAN WILCOX WAS ONE OF MERILYN TUNNESHENDE'S EDITORS AT HAMPTON HOUSE, SHE ALSO CALLED MERILYN AND ASKED FOR AN INTERVIEW AND FOR FORGIVENESS, THIS OCCURRED WHILST SHE WAS WORKING ON HER OWN DICTIONARY OF NATIVE AMERICAN SPIRITUAL TERMINOLOGY, . . AND SUBSEQUENTLY, ON HER OWN ENDORSEMENT CREDIT, SHE HELPED MERILYN SOMEWHAT BUT SHE WAS STRUGGLING DOING EVENTS CALLED "SONG OF MYSELF", . . AND APPEARING AT PLACES LIKE THE "DREAM MAKER" THAT ALSO SPONSORED ALMINE, SO BOTTOM LINE JOAN WAS MORE INTERESTED IN RUSHING TO BRING UP THE REAR WITH PEOPLE LIKE NUNEZ DEL PRADO, MERILYN AND JOAN WERE KINDRED SPIRITS, SO, IF PEOPLE LIKE MICHAEL HARNER HAD GOTTEN BEHIND THEM AT THE RIGHT TIME, . . THE WORLD WOULD BE IN A VERY DIFFERENT STATE OF AFFAIRS, THIS BOOK IS A GOOD INTRODUCTION, I've been studying the Andean arts for the lastmonths amp was looking for supplementary and/or additional research notes on the Q'ero to augment my studies.
This book was the only one to appear on a Google search,
Boy, am I glad I ordered it! Joan Wilcox's detailed, methodical account of her Q'ero studies, along with the appropriate Quechua terms, truly rounded out experience with learning the Medicine Wheel, along with the Q'ero paqos concepts amp beliefs.
I loved her personal stories amp experiences, as well as the practical exercises in the book,
A great introduction and/or reference guide to those wishing to get a deeper understanding of Andean mysticism amp culture.
For students of shamanism or energy medicine, this book is a must, An absolutely incredible resource with both a scholarly and spiritual perspective which is incredibly difficult to find in this area.
Heavy focus on actual conversations with Q'ero paqos shamans and their stories and perspectives albeit translated twice, from Quechua to Spanish to English.
The categorization and flow of the topics makes it far easier to read than I anticipated, and once I dove into it I found it difficult to put down.
While there are some practices the reader can utilize at the end, as mentioned the focus of the book is on the perspective of Q'ero paqos that the author was able to interview and their spiritual, religious, and cosmological beliefs.
This book is quite simply one of the best books on Shamanism I have ever seen,
The Qero lineage is quite unique in its sophisticated understandings of the energy universe, and how to create a deep lived connection to it, via Ayni, or reciprocal relationship and other methods.
Its no simple rehashing of drum trance techniques/soul retrieval/power animal/underworld journeys, . . that you find in most works on the subject,
Also it does not 'newageify' Shamanism, These are direct teachings, from the Qero shaman, in their own words, and where Joan is speaking herself, she has done her utmost to ensure that she has accurately represented their grand Tradition.
Priceless book. This is a great book, much more scholar than I thought, Even though the author of the book is a practitioner of healing and ceremony, this book is filled with interviews to elders of the Q'ero in Cusco, Peru.
It is a book that studies cosmology and practice, and that also includes experiences of mystical and supernatural nature.
At first I thought that it was this work was going to be a collection of dreamlike scenarios or channelings, things
that make for a very spiritual work, but instead this book is very grounded and explains how the Q'ero peoples see the universe and make sense of it.
Excellent source of information, knowledge, and very valuable historical references to religious intrusion and dogma, as well as government and state abuses.
With that said, this is not a political or philosophical book, just an anthropological/spiritual book, An intimate glimpse into the world of ancient Peruvian spiritual practice and cosmology
Reveals the mysteries of the world of living energy kawsay pacha through intensive indepth interviews with six Qero mystics
Explores the energetics, spirits, tools, and practices of Andean mysticismthe real story behind the fictionalized accounts in The Celestine Prophecy
Known as the “keepers of the ancient knowledge,” the Qero Indians of Peru are the most respected mystics of the southcentral Andes.
InJoan Parisi Wilcox traveled to the Andes and was able to record the mysteries of kawsay pacha, the multidimensional world of living energy, through more thanhours of intensive interviews with six Qero paqos, masters of the ancient spiritual traditions of Peru.
The Qero are known for having preserved the Inca spiritual tradition more purely than any other indigenous population in the Andes.
The indepth interviews presented in this book recount the direct words of these masters so readers can discover for themselves the mind and heart space of these people.
Four new chapters of this revised edition focus on the work of the mesa, the Andean form of a spiritual medicine bundle, and its use as a conduit for the healing energies of nature.
The mesa is called the “hearts fire” because it represents the finest energythe energy of compassionthat a paqo cultivates while walking the sacred path.
Wilcox provides instructions on how to make, activate, and work with a mesa, as well as other practical exercises showing how we can use the power of the Andean spiritual tradition in our own lives.
