reasonably good and enjoyable read on a winter's afternoon or evening, Wreckers are at work on the Cornish coast, luring unsuspecting ships struggling in stormy seas onto hidden rocks close to the shore and not far from the fishing village of Pengarth.
When the ship is finally wrecked, the cargo is then quickly looted, But who is behind this looting and who is their leader I first read The Wreckers of Pengarth back in the earlys when I was about ten years old.
It was given as a school prize and reading it again brought back many happy childhood memories, Tolerable enough, but there's nothing to make it stand out above so many similar books, It's rather like a Famous Five adventure but less entertaining, Predictable. Easy to read and easy to forget, A mystery set in Cornwall, the heroes being two brothers
who save the crew of a ship which has been wrecked in a valiant and daring exercise in will and diligence.
They must discover who is behind the wrecking the placing of lights to guide ships onto the rocks that they might then be looted.
