The American Country Inn and Bed Breakfast Cookbook, Volume I: More Than 1,700 Crowd-Pleasing Recipes from 500 American Inns Reviews

I am a breakfast addict...I could eat "breakfast" all hours of the days and it probably does end up being my most favorite meal of the day. So, I like to try out breakfast oriented recipes out and this is probably my best "breakfast" cookbook on my cookbook shelves. I have not enjoyed every single recipe I have tried in this book, but it has been more based on my taste preferences than the recipes themselves. And hey, nothing wrong with trying new things and seeing what works for you and what doesn't, so I still think this is a good cookbook.

Honey Apple Crisp
Oh My! This is dangerously delicious. Jim and I want more, but I’d become ill from the sugar overload. Jim had 3 bowls. This will be my go to recipe from now on. This was very easy to make. I baked it in a cast iron skillet
The American Country Inn and Bed & Breakfast Cookbook: More Than 1,800 Crowd-Pleasing Recipes from 600 Inns (American Country Inn & Bed & Breakfast Cookbook)
I used Granny Smith apples
Maine recipes, I chose the Blueberry Nut Muffins. They are blueberry good, and even better hot with butter. I pulled these out at the 30 minute mark and believe they would be perfect at 25 minutes. I changed the baking time to 25 minutes on my recipe, as they would have burnt at the 40 minute mark. I added more blueberries than called for. (1 1/2 cups) (I'm giving it a 4 due to time being incorrect on the first recipe I tried)
Next, I'm making the Dutch Apple Roll from Maryland.
Right now I'm picking out recipes of items I already have in my pantry/refrigerator.
I love finding Bed & Breakfast cookbooks because they are recipes which are created over and over again. I have found several recipe in this book I look forward to making. I'll update and share each one as I create.
These are not muffins I'll make again as I'm still looking for a more moist blueberry muffin but I am enjoying this book
After making the Dutch Apple Rolls, I updated the stars to a 5! These are delicious. I made two logs from this, and froze one of them. A few days later, I pulled out one of the frozen logs and they are very easy to slice. You can make these as thick as you like. I like slice and bake directly from the freezer. These are delicious. I like them just like they are and Jim likes to add ice cream to his dish.
I recommend this recipe and will make this again.
I really like this book and have so many recipes marked to make -
Some of the recipes are a little dated now. (Let's be kind and call them "retro.") Still, if you're looking for a good variety of fairly simple breakfast and brunch recipes, there's plenty here and that are quite good. I can't speak for the dinner items as I've not made any of those, but this book has my go-to recipes for quick breads, muffins and breakfast potluck dishes.

Some clunkers and some oddities, but a go-to for random baking or if you're looking for something a little out and interesting.
-
Generally not simple recipes. However covers a wide range of ingredients and styles so there is something in this book for everyone.
-
A classic that I use frequently, especially for baked goods!
-
My all time go-to book for recipes throughout the last 20 years. Excellent because they are true and tried recipes.

one of my favorite cookbooks

This is my most favorite cookbook. I've used it so much the cover has come off.
