    This is a deluxe hardback publication that's filled with black and white photos all of which depict erotica. This collection of photos is from the period 1839 to 1939. The images are of both men and women (although mostly women). There's nothing pornographic or hardcore about these photos although they might once have been considered risqué. There's plenty of nudity, with much attention given to bare bottoms and uncovered breasts. When we see genitalia, it's mostly covered by public hair This is, than anything else, an example of the history of nude photography. We get to see both: (1) how the quality of photos developed over time; and (2) how the style and fashion of erotica evolved over a century. As such, if you're a student of photography or are interested in the history of erotica then I highly recommend this book.It's a high quality publication, and it's obvious that care and attention has been given to the production of this book. And at under £15, this is a bargain.
