what Jesus died for If He chose the way of the cross, where would He hesitate leading us Is it possible that to follow Jesus is to choose the barbarian way Jesus never made a pristine call to a proper or safe religion.
Jesus beckons His followers to a path that is far from the easy road, It is a path filled with adventure, uncertainty, and unlimited possibilitiesthe only path that can fulfill the deepest longings and desires of your heart, This is the barbarian way: to give your heart to the only One who can make you fully alive, To love Him with simplicity and intensity, To unleash the untamed faith within, To be consumed by the presence of a passionate and compassionate God, To go where He sends you, no matter the cost, very good read. Made me buy another of his books, Amazing read, thought provoking and challenging, everyone should read this book, Enjoyed this book. An easy read with a challenging message, He chooses anecdotes often relating to family experiences, These are often amusing but are relevant and help get his point across, He challenges much of our religious practice and encourages us to go and do things rather than hide in our comfortable churches, Thanks I can imagine some people closing this book and turning away, It's about the tenets of hard realism that underlie Christianity, Not a comfortable social club, but a challenge to follow the truth wherever that may lead you, The book is starkly clear about the consequences of sticking by truth in the face of evil, and the fact that there is no way round this not even for Christ, and not for us.
Truly scary stuff but unfortunately that's the reality,
