Despite the title, this book unfortunately does not cover the traditional torch firing method the way that most beginners/improvers know it to be i.e. using just a torch and a trivet on a brick or tripod. Instead it’s main focus is a method known as “immersion”. It is not so much a follow up to the previous book, as it is covering an individual topic: “How to torch fire beads and flowers using the immersion method”. If that is the topic you want to learn about, then you’ll find this book useful. You will need to buy extra tools to learn the immersion method (bead pulling station, mandrels, bracket, clamp, etc).

I have done both courses on Craftsy from Barbara Lewis and her books are a great reference to the techniques she demonstrates in the lessons. Her books are stand alone resources to learn and follow the technique of torch fired enamels, but also complement the lessons she teaches and are perfectly used in unison.Highly Recommended _ She is a wonderful instructor
