A Soul to Keep: Duskwalker Brides: Book One Reviews

The universe created is very unique and the plot so amazing. While reading I could empathize with both main characters. Wish the book was longer! Will wait for the next book :(

Not so much to think about the plot, but you can see that the author thought about the lore’s world. It’s a good story to pass time. First time reading monster spice… and it wasn’t bad at all. What I can see, it could have a sequel, and I’m looking forward

It’s a refreshing story! Never expected to find a skull attractive, but it grew on me as I read the story.

A wonderful, refreshing, inspiring book. Left me hungry for so I instantly picked up the next two in the series. Super excited for deer boy!!

I have read reviews and seen tiktok recommendations too, so I knew the monster was super sweet, but I wasn't expecting the world to be that terrifying of a place. The world building was great, just enough and the rest was shown through action. Let me tell you this dystopia is like hell, no wonder is filled with demons ( and not the fun kind either). She was struck by tragedy at an young age and was marked as a harbinger of demons as a consequence. Her life following that event is bad. He is a sweet, kind but very lonely monster that can also be vicious and terrifying too.Their connection builds slowly but surely, and they find solace and a ton of spicy fun times with each other. The story is a bit too long for my liking, but is different than other monster stories out there. I couldn't stop myself from feeling sorry for Orpheus, but at least things work out.

💙 “I have desired you from the first moment you smiled at me, my little doe.”~~~Reia’s life hasn’t been easy. After her family was killed by demons and she was the only survivor of the attack, Reia’s been labeled as cursed and a harbinger of bad omens. Despite her life in solitude and being treated as an outcast, she’s such a compassionate and kind woman. Even , Reia’s so feisty, courageous and quite stubborn. And I loved that she was not easily scared and never hesitated to stand up for herself. I really liked her!And then we have Orpheus! The huge Duskwalker is deadly, vicious and fearsome the Apex Predator of the Veil. But beneath his monstrous appearance, hides one phenomenal male honest, considerate, patient, gentle and fiercely protective. My heart broke for all the years he’s spent alone and how he just wanted someone to love and accept him. He might be inhuman but I absolutely adored every single thing about this wonderful and sweet Mavka!I loved everything that happened between Reia and Orpheus! Reia is offered up as Orpheus’s new sacrifice. I loved how both had certain expectations for the other and both were proven wrong. I loved that Reia managed to surprise Orpheus right from the start, showing him time and time again that she’s not like his other offerings. And I adored Orpheus for going to such lengths to make sure she’s comfortable and protected, even from himself. And he shows her kindness and support than any human she’s ever known. What started as a monster and an offering, soon became something so much and watching their relationship grow was an absolute delight. And the time they spent together, the the need for one another was flaring inside. Oh, those bath moments were so, so hot. And talk about tension! Even though Reia's determined to find a way to obtain her freedom, I loved how she managed to see past Orpheus’s monstrous facade and started falling for him. So, when they couldn’t keep their hands off each other any, the passionate moments they shared were off the charts hot and I couldn’t get enough! Orpheus and Reia were so right for each other and after everything both went through, they than deserved to find love and acceptance together. In addition, the storyline was fantastic! I loved this world filled with Duskwalkers, Demons, Demonslayers, magical creatures and humans. And the Veil was intriguing with its dark and misty forests and hidden cities. With everything happening and the unexpected turns of events, I was glued to the pages till the very end.Overall, the story is a wonderful start of the series! It’s filled with danger, adventure, suspense, twists, action, violence, drama, magic, blazing hot passion and magnificent characters.I loved it!

I absolutely adored this book and everything about it and the characters. I initially read it on KU and then bought myself a kindle copy and a physical copy for my bookshelf.Orpheus is adorable with his determination to provide Reia with anything she could possibly need. His loneliness and fear that he will lose Reia, as he has lost so many before, is heartbreaking. His need to keep her safe and happy overcame even his most basic hunter instincts. I loved how he eventually felt secure about Reia and her feelings for him.Reia was a joy to get to know. Despite having a horrible life before Orpheus she remained pragmatic and future focussed. I found it amusing that she didn't want to admit to her feelings for Orpheus and kept talking herself out of leaving by making very lame excuses.I liked that their feelings developed at a realistic pace and wasn't instantaneous. It really allowed me as a reader to connect to the characters and become invested in the outcome of their relationship. This was my first book by the author and I have proceeded to buy her previous books and I have pre ordered the next in this series. I enjoyed the writing style and found the story to be well developed. I am looking forward to future Duskwalker Brides books.
