Well written and a fairly entertaining read (not that I was expecting an exciting plot). After about four chapters, I got fed up with looking in the back for the definitions. I wish the definitions were footnotes instead of end notes I think I would be willing to read

Bought this for my son as a SAT Prep. It is supposed to build vocabulary through context. My wife enjoyed it. My son has not yet picked it up. His older sister read it an received a perfect score on the SAT. The book may have helped, but I don't expect it to have the same

My daughter had to read this for summer reading going into 10th grade. After reading other reviews, I was expecting her to hate this book, but fortunately this was not the case. She enjoyed the book, although the bolded words were a little distracting.
