throughly enjoyed this story, I found it an easy read as it caught me up from the very beginning, The plot was very good, I understood where Ace was coming from and enjoyed her journey getting there, I highly recommend this series to any of you who love magic, Gargoyles, kick ass females, lots of good sexy times, laughs and exciting story lines, Don't miss this. Seeing as how Gargoyles was my favorite cartoon besides Sailor Moon, of course I can understand why I was so drawn to this series, Ive had a crush on Goliath since I was around ten and I guess my infatuation with all things wings is intact, Good storyline and loved the characters although for a detective Ace seemed to miss a lot of the obvious, I really liked this particular set of books, When I finished, I was a little sad to see it end because the authors do a good job of creating a "family" atmosphere between Ace, her guys, and her friends.
It is a reverse harem and the story wraps up by the end of theth book, As someone who has read a lot of reverse harem books lately, this series kept my attention and I kept wanting to read throughout the day to see what happens with the guys.
I recommend it. I loved the premise of the tough as nails lady cop inheriting an estate from her estranged aunt only to accidentally wake upyr old gargoyles and find out she's actually a witch.
It helped that the gargoyles were super smexy winged men with bulging biceps and hearts of gold of course,
When vampires target Ace and she has to come to terms with her magic and defeat the bad guys, it was kinda great, The boys help out, saving the day once, but Ace usually manages things pretty well on her own,
But then the next book is another episodic style story, where the gang has to solve something unrelated to the central questions of the book, We hardly skim the major plot drivers until theth book when, all of a sudden, everything gets resolved really quick, Another re iewer mentioned that it felt like the authors got tired of writing and just rushed to publish That soulds about right, For petes sake, they changed one of the characters names completely in book, . The bad guy seemed awfully forced anddimensional, driven by greed for power, nothing,
Finally, the romance cuz its really what we're here for, amiright It was instalove, Like Ace is feeling a little turned on so she's like, " hey we're all adults, Why not' Which is cool and a mature enough choice, except that the tension plummeted right with Ace's celebacy, Plus, Jac takes a lot of screen time compared to the others, I don't recall a single thing Gil did or said distinctive from his twin eg he might as well have not been there, and Hasan seemed to exist merely as a guy to do Ace's dirty work, In other words, the guys just weren't hashed out so well, except Jac maybe,
All in all, it was a decent series, I don't regret finiahing it but its good thats on K, Unlimited. . I feel like the authors lost an opportunity and cut too many corners while writing and editing this, Things like getting knocked out and handcuffed in a basement were literally the authors' go to deus ex machina, Seriously, it must have happened ar leasttimes, It got really annoying. Could have been worse I suppose Worth the money, Loved the story line,loved the setting n characters are amazzzzzing! It's a fast paced story, I hope to read like this!!! Thank you for this series!!!! I wish I could get this book in Spanish for my mother, It's such a sexy, romantic, exciting, rush to read, Fast paced, and keeps you at rhe edge of the seat, You get good vs evil by a sexy female cop and some very sexy helpers, Interesting series concept non magic believer Ace is a detective, receive old house from unknown aunt and suddenly her beliefs are shot to heck! First, her gargoyle statues come to life as gorgeous men yum! Then she finds out vampires, witches and ghosts are real! The firstbooks were great but I felt a little let down on the conclusion.
There was enough info and closure for me it seemed a little rushed, but still an entertaining read I chosebecause I read through all four books in the series in record time.
I am an avid reader of this and similar genres reading four or five books a week while working full time, This was a fresh take on the magic world and I was hooked from page one, Ace is a strong, multifaceted lead who brings you into her life and makes you want to stay, I thoroughly enjoyed the books and was sad to see the final chapter end, The ending leaves a perfect opening for a continuation series!! Hint hint, A very different type of series of books but oh so good, The story line is captivating , the characters draw you in, the action is exciting believe me you wont be able to put this series of books down, This author is now added to my best list Thoroughly enjoyed the series, couldn't put it down even reading before going to work Hope follow, Loved Ace and the guys adventures, Great light read. I enjoyed the characters. There was plenty of action, The romance had plenty of heat too,
I liked the fact that Ace wasn't some all powerful being, She did get hurt, she did make mistakes, Her resilience was really appealing, Didn't know what to expect but this steamy romance story wasn't it,
A brilliantly thought out story with plenty of unexpected twists, Thoroughly enjoyed reading all four books in three days,
Would recommend it for anyone who enjoys science fiction and fantasy stories and steamy romance stories, I enjoyed this series. It had drama, romance and for paranormal lovers a whole lot of weird, The idea of multi partner romances may be unusual for some but seriously who wouldnt want to be worshipped by than one devastatingly handsome hero,
