Viridian Gate Online: Darkling Siege: The Viridian Gate Archives, Book 7 Audible Audio Edition: James Hunter, Armen Taylor, Shadow Alley Press Inc: Books Reviews

Such an amazing range of experiences as we go through this final episode of magic, monsters, friends, and foes. Love, hate, friendship, honor, duty, betrayal. Many things are not as they seem.
Some of the monsters are now friends!!!
Some of our friends become monsters, or worse.
    And the cliffhanger ??? WOW!!!

Where to start? I LOVE this story, plain and simple. It’s a truly captivating, original tale that takes you on a gigantic emotional roller coaster. I haven’t read any of the side stories. Just the main 7 (so far) books. There are only 2 draw backs I can think of. 1.) J. Hunter repeatedly uses the same words and terminology to describe actions and events throughout all the of the books. To the point that I almost had it memorized. (Like when he describes Jack using Umbra Bog/Bolt, conjuring Devil, or calling on a night cyclone and so on). Not a major turn off, and I get that after 7 books describing the same things in different ways is not easy but a little variation would be nice. I found my self skipping over the repetitive parts. 2) When will it end? To me, the best part about starting a story is getting to the ENDING. Darkling Siege would have been an Epic ending to an Epic book series. I don’t even see how another entire book could even be written when so little story remains. What else is there left to do? I found myself disappointed at the end of the last chapter not because I finished the book, but because there was no ending, even though the finish line was in sight. I was excited for the end. Not because I was tired of the story, but because it’s the best part! Conflict, then resolution. Beginning, then the end. A story with no end is like life without death. It loses all of its meaning. I will always remember the VGO series as one of the best books I’ve ever read, but I am ready for this story to end so I can get off of the roller coaster and get back in line to begin reading and enjoying the story all over again. If there isn’t an 8th and FINAL book, it would be a tragedy. Mostly because who ends a story like that, but if it keeps going I personally am going to settle for my own ending and jump ship. Either way J. Hunter, thank you for an incredible story.

This is the first time that I have read this author's work, it won't be the last. I can usually tell within the first few chapters whether I will like, or finish, a novel or not. I knew before I finished the first chapter that I would thoroughly enjoy this story. Excellent stuff.

At this point there isnt a whole lot I can say in regards to how good this series is without repeating myself. I'm going to read the last book soon. I will have to move on from this series.
    However
I wont leave it behind. It will stick with me. Always.
    It's at that level.

The speed has really amped up and the action is almost nonstop. It feels like the next book may be the last, but I hope not!

I'm ready to see what's beyond that door. How about you? If you've read the Viridian Gates series and have not read this book, then what's stopping you? Crack it open and submerge yourself into the world of Eldgard. New reader? Trust me and give this series a chance. You will not regret it. The stories keep getting better a long the way. After reading this book, James Hunter has to have a whole lot of adventures and books to follow up this phenomenal tale.

Well, James Hunter, I'm hooked and ready for many books to continue onwards with. Think you have another 7 or in the chamber?

    WORTH THE WAIT!!

Is it me or has it been years or seconds since the last VGO book?

And now it's done and I'm bereft again. Twiddling my thumbs for a new hit of the sparkling fun stuff that is Eldgard on ice!

But before I go back to my den and waiting for book 8.
Grand opera, fierce clashes, furious frenzy and magic and mayhem.
Cutters here, swearing and cursing, abby and amara show their strength again and Osmark of course is a legend. We all know that.

A tour de force that brings every creature, race, species and role to the biggest and baddest confrontation.

And yes these worlds, words and characters pluck at heart strings as well as bow strings.

Which is why we love, fear and dislike James Hunter with equal measure. He's as mean to your hero or heroine as he's kind. Swine!

And now it's open warfare. And there are malware blades everywhere!!!!
LCAHB LEAGUE are watching you James!
(Signed , the Leave Cutter Alone He's British)

My only complaint.where's the next one?!!?! please!
