She'd accepted the lifeline Jason Cole offered

Actually, Samantha had little choice when her own summer plans fell through. Jason's sister needed a music teacher-cum-chaperone and Sam needed a job.

But, in spite of its travel opportunities, Samantha wasn't enthusiastic about the position--it meant constant contact with the obnoxious womanizing Jason.

"I like my women willing, Ms. Peabody. And there are plenty who are," he'd told her. And he certainly wasn't her type at all. So why worry? Unless perhaps he wasn't quite the shallow playboy she imagined.

The trick with reading and enjoying HP's is not to take them seriously. So here we have a 24-year old heroine who is basically a nursemaid to her selfish father and her supposed boyfriend. You see both of them are artists and basically require taking care of, a role the heroine was basically reared for. But when daddy and bf dump her for the summer she is forced to take the job with the hero and his sis. We have his 15-year old sis have an inappropriate flirtation with a 20-year old guy which the hero is not fazed about. The hero's life is basically a party going from volleyball tournament to tournament and "supposedly" running their sportswear company. Despite all of this and hero's late night phone calls with a model who he always goes running to we are supposed to believe hero is heads over for the heroine. Of course after not willing to face what snakes her father and bf are heroine suddenly at the end has a turn-around, the hero deems to tell her he is helping the model with her drug problem and HEA. Honestly, I did end up enjoying this despite my snarkiness.
