WHEN ONE NIGHT ISN'T ENOUGH is by Harlequin M&B Medical author Wendy S Marcus.

Nurse Ali Forshay hates bad boy Doctor Jared Padget but finds herself drawn to him. The chemistry sizzles between them. After an explosive night together, Ali ends up getting pregnant. She discovers later he is married though on the verge of getting a divorce. But he was reluctant to marry again. And Ali wanted marriage or nothing!

I loved it! This story is liberally spiced with humor, pathos and heartfelt emotion. You just can't help but root for these two, Ali and Jared to get to their happy ending. I didn't want the story to end just then. But who wants a good romance to end?

WHEN ONE NIGHT ISN'T ENOUGH is a well woven tale with real characters and witty dialogue. It was written with warmth, tenderness and sensitivity and is a sweet and sensual romance story amid the medical drama. It is a fast paced, sexy, romantic tale with characters who catches your attention and your heart. The characters come alive on the page and the reader is personally involved in their happiness and craves the resolution as deeply as they do.

Emotions are palpable and heart-wrenching. I highly recommend WHEN ONE NIGHT ISN'T ENOUGH to all lovers of romance regardless of, if they enjoy Medical Romances.

Wendy S Marcus was a new to me author but I shall definitely be on a lookout for all her titles as I eagerly await her next book!

This is a score sheet review and I am putting down here the score sheet review summary.

I found this novel quite by chance up on Goodreads. Look beyond the totally bogus cover and you discover a story well worth delving into. Though medical romances aren’t my favorite type of romances to read, I make time for them occasionally and this is one time I am very glad that I made the exception to read one. I loved When One Night Isn’t Enough, the story has two likable characters, granted I loved the hero more and sometimes wanted to hit the heroine on the head for her innate stubbornness.

Dr. Jared Padget is such a dreamy, charming and sexy hero. Those killer dimples together with his totally drool-inducing body clad in scrubs and more so out of it, and the way he is such a total sweetheart when it comes to Allison was the reason I loved him so wholeheartedly. Beneath the charming exterior that he presents to the rest of the world lies such a tortured mess that I felt like bawling my eyes out for him. No female who had entered his life had shown him a reason to trust them with his heart, but nevertheless with Allison the fact that he was willing to let go and try just made him an all around fantastic hero for me.

Though Allison proved to be a bit too stubborn a time or two during the story, she too served to be someone you can relate to. Her past is not an easy one to escape from either and that is why she has enough reasons to judge Jared as her past has taught her to. So in the end, because Allison came through for Jared I forgave her and came to love her a little as well.

I expected a light-hearted, fluffy read with a little bit of medical procedures tossed into the story when I picked this up, but in the end I was surprised and not unpleasantly I might add, because the story delivers so much more than that. It is light-hearted at moments but deep inside the story deals with a lot of emotional baggage, and a tissue or two might come in handy while you are at it!

Recommended for fans of category romances, ones where hunky doctors and cute nurses get down and dirty with a lot of emotional angst thrown into mix!

"This is the author's debut Medical Romance and it was very well done. Brava! An enjoyable romance filled with emergency room medical drama, just the way I like it. There was a warmth, tenderness, sensitivity in this lovely sensual read. An emotional read. The characters were strong and driven, very realistic along with the conflict." When One Night Isn't Enough was my first medical romance and it was a fabulous read. It was the perfect length for curling up on a weekend. Ali and Jared were a great match and Wendy S. Marcus did a wonderful job of bringing their conflict center stage. Ali wants to settle down and Jared doesn't and they both had good reasons for wanting those things. It was fun riding along as they tried to figure out if they could compromise.

An all around great read and I highly recommend it.

I really loved this debut book by Wendy S Marcus. The characters were strong, the conflict was real, and the writing was professional. Marcus has a great voice filled with wit that comes out in the story. I was never a big fan of medical romance but this story hooked me! Looking forward to other books by this author.

2.5* This had its moments, the reformed bad girl and current day saint h and the footloose but totally screwed up H worked pretty well.

Well what can I say about a hot and steamy erotically charged medical romance that was author, Wendy Marcus', first work? It was simply "smashing" as the British would say, whereby in Great Britain is the destination that this engaging new novel was recently first published. Allison Forshay is a confident and independent ER nurse working at Madrin Memorial Hospital where she meets handsome exciting Dr. Jared Padget. The two are instantly attracted to each other, but Ali sees in Jared those same non-committal love-em'-and-leave-em' traits that she associates with her mostly-absent father. She, however, feels herself falling for the gorgeous doctor, and doesn't know how to stop it from happening. Unfortunately, an unexpected life-changing circumstance occurs, which will tie the couple together forever. Within the 185 pgs of the novel, the author illustrates friendships and family ties that are lovingly supportive amongst the characters while also capturing emotions that are witty and compassionately enthralling. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series, which features another nurse, Victoria, who also works at the fictional Madrin Memorial Hospital. A highly entertaining novel not to be missed by an impressive first-time author!

I enjoyed reading this debut novel by Wendy Marcus. The characters Ali and Jared were real, exciting and had a real crackling chemistry from page 1. I will look forward to Wendy's next book to be published later on in the year.

WoW! This was different--in a good way! Love the more realistic heroine with her backstory. Also enjoyed the more real-to-life dialogue b/t the heroine and hero. Wendy Marcus goes on my auto-buy list.

An engaging and emotional read. I was occasionally baffled by the heroine's changeable feelings, but this was well matched by the hero's own transformation. Love that the "medical" aspects were detailed but not clinically so (pun not intended). Overall an enjoyable, investing story!

It's been quite a while since I've read a Medical Romance from M&B, mostly because so many of them take place outside the US and I had trouble identifying with the characters, their lingo, and their situations.

However, I snatched up Wendy Marcus's book after reading an excerpt and I'm so glad I did. The story line was much grittier than I usually see with series romance. The heroine has a past she'd like to forget, a past that I don't usually find in category books. So a big WAY TO GO to both M&B for taking a chance on a heroine with a less than pristine past and to the author for having the guts to go there.

An interesting read that I think would keep more readers glued to the page. I can recommend this book without reservation.

“When One Night Isn't Enough” was Wendy’s debut novel and WOW was I impressed. This book sucked me in from the first page. The author did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. I loved Allison with her stubborn quirky personality and Jared who was just dreamy. The chemistry between these two characters sizzled off the pages. I loved the witty dialogue and narration of this story. The author did a great job giving this book a modern feel; the heroine was not some shy virgin like in so many harlequin books we are used to reading.
I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book shouldn't have been as good as it was. The whole thing was totally cliche. A nurse and a doctor, a pregnancy after a one night stand. People who have been hurt from their past relationships. Been there, done that, bought the book. But somehow this author made the old standbys fun and exciting again. There was great tension, great writing. She even made me cry a couple of times, and I read funny lines out loud to my sister.
    Great read.

    Cute read!!

Storia d'amore scontata, ma scritta bene e scorrevole. Alla fine è pure scesa una lacrima (ma io non faccio testo, piango anche con i cartoni animati).
