Snag Falling From The Sky Scripted By Joannes Rhino Setyanto Accessible In Publication
touch . good concept . engaging conversation . unpredictable ending! I am an absolute Scifi addict, I love these kind of books, and this was no exception, It has a little romance in it also which was surprising, The uniqueness of this writer brought the story to life with explosive scenery, I have read other books by Joannes Rhino and he is very versatile, This is a complicated novel with a flare for the dramatic and with its overall spin on adventure, I wasn't disappointed, It held a great back drop with a descriptive style and flow that complimented all the characters, An interesting concept of sci fi without being the typical runofthemill scenario, Over all, a great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Falling from the Sky does not read like a scifi, rather a story, love story if you like between Adji and Lisa, very much rooted in the planet earth.
However, there is always a desire in the characters Adji and Antonio mainly to seek, and to find more about the universe, the planet, the black hole and the outer space generally.
Nonetheless, the story turns quite dramatically from a shooting incidence and police investigations to alien visitation,
A few stylistic problems emerged in Chapteras the writers, Joannes Rhino and Joannes Setyanto begin three consecutive paragraphs with the word 'she', 'she' and again 'she'.
This could have been replaced with another word starting each paragraph with a different word, Apart from this, it is a wellwritten book with a passion for the unknown, I received this book free for my honest review,
This book tells the story of Adji, Lisa and how a cast of characters becomes centered around the Blue Cookies Cafe, It starts off innocently enough with a UFO sighting and then jumps ahead in timeyears to the cafe where Lisa works, Adji is secretly in love with her and is regular at the cafe, One evening he mysteriously saves her life after a gun accidentally goes off and this incident starts a snowball effect, The police and a group of UFO researchers descend on the small cafe trying to unravel the mystery of Lisa's survival and how Adji is connected to her.
Overall, I enjoyed this book, I was looking forward to what happens next and was secretly hoping for a happy ending for Adji and Lisa, The pace of the story moved well and I was intrigued to see where the author would go with this, I really liked the descriptions of the aliens and the collective consciousness, I've read UFO/alien books in the past and this seemed like a fresh perspective,
My feelings about the book started changing the longer I read it, I believe this is a translation into English and it really shows, The writing comes across as very stiff and wooden, The dialogue between the characters is unnatural sounding
and some of the characters were downright rude to each other for no real reason.
The lack of storytelling skill began to show especially as I got closer to the end, The ending is so abrupt that when I got there, I thought "that was it" I don't feel like it wrapped up well and I was left feeling like something was missing.
It also made me question what was the point of the whole story because I couldn't quite find it, I thought this book is just gonna be one hell of complicated scifi stuff, But it turns out onlyscifi with lots of romance stuff, However, I like this book, It gives me pleasure reading it, After reading 'The Unseen Face', I wanted to read more of this author's work, Science fiction isn't my normal genre, but I am so glad I stepped out of my norm, and read this book, It holds the same tone and poetry that I have come to expect from Rhino,
Falling from the Sky is a science fiction novel with the heart of a true romance, I fell in love with Adji and Lisa and their Romeo and Juliet style romancethe classic love story of pure love against the odds of the universe.
Rhino certainly did his research and wove this story seamlessly, The complicated topic of the paranormal was written in a way that made sense, he made it logical and easy to understand,
I highly recommend, it was a satisfying and entertaining read,
I guess not many author can write UFO stuff the way the author write, When I first found it at Amazon, I thought it's gonna be complicated reading, And it turned out that this book is very easy to understand but still full of detail information about UFO, Falling from the sky is a science fiction story a little different from most, The alien living among us who doesn't know hes an alien and doesn't know the powers that he has is intriguing, but it goes beyond just an alien on Earth story.
Theres the coming of age of Adji, the full circle for Antonio, fate and the meaning of life, death and time, and unfulfilled love.
An enjoyable and easy read, The pace was good and kept me interested throughout, Only a little too much detail at times and a number of typos kept it from being better Like many others said, this book is a nice mix of scifi and romance, without being too technical.
The pacing is good, the characterization is pretty deep, and the scifi research is great, Johannes Rhino is a very talented author who has the ability to blend genres, and get away with it, Not an easy thing to do, I have enjoyed his previous work and looked forward to reviewing Falling from the Sky, His books are professional because of the amount of research he carries out with each subject he tackles, This time he introduces us to the UFO phenomena and gives us pause for reflection, The story for Falling from the Sky deviates from the usual scifi invasions by aliens and galactic battles, thank goodness,
It has a good strong mystery, enough of a romance to qualify its raison detre, and the paranormal, which I find intriguing.
I do not like to give away the plot and feel the reader should discover the characters, Enough has been written about both, This is a wonderful book to curl up in a corner and explore,
Falling from the Sky is somewhere between science fiction and romance, carving a path that winds its way through the difficulties of young relationships and through concepts of fate and destiny.
I found the story interesting in how it blended various genres together, and perhaps most of all in the level of research that the author, Joannes Rhino, put into UFO phenomena.
The story itself takes place in Indonesia, although I wouldn't say that it feels distinctly Indonesian in style or nature many features of the tale in Falling from the Sky would not be out of place if transplanted to another location or country.
In a way, I found that a little disappointing, and I think the book might have been slightly stronger had it more deeply given a sense of modern Indonesia.
That aside, however, the tale that winds its way through these pages is one of alienation, both literal and metaphorical the protagonist, Adji, is a quiet loner even as a human before he discovers his true nature.
The romantic plot that follows is one that I suspect many of us are familiar with, but it's complicated by the science fiction element from Adji's past that comes to fruition during the passage of the story.
Don't expect hard science when it comes to aliens and the paranormal in Falling from the Sky but you may be impressed by how firmly rooted in modern UFOlogy it is, as I was.
Rhino litters his scenes with references to names and theories about UFOs and, curious, I decided to check whether these were all just inventions but as it turns out, the author has drawn deeply on UFO mythology to weave a solid backdrop for the aliens of his story.
It's one of the strongest elements of Falling from the Sky and helped bring greater life and depth to the unfolding exploration of events by the AlphaOmega characters in particular I found myself wishing they'd been introduced earlier in the book, as they provided an interesting angle into the plot.
Falling from the Sky does have its flaws, although there's nothing dealbreaking some of the characterisation could do with work, and it would benefit from further editing.
However, I enjoyed reading this book and it provides an interesting contrast against the other, far darker works of Joannes Rhino, I just read this book by now, Someone I met handed over this to me, I never like scifi stuff, But this one is different, It's more romance story of an humanhybrid alien with human being, I loved reading it. I give thumb up to the author,
