A call to redeem the field of energy healing for the Kingdom of God and a blueprint for how to go about it. We live in a time of remarkable discovery. The world of quantum physics is revealing that the sub-atomic, "energetic" level of creation relates directly to our health both physically and emotionally. Rapid and effective healing treatments of many kinds have arisen out of this discovery but they have been developed from a New Age worldview. Subsequently, these advances have been considered off limits for the Christian community. But the Splankna Therapy Institute is changing that. In this groundbreaking book Sarah J. Thiessen teaches us how to think redemptively in our current healing culture. Grounded in scripture, she walks the reader through the two main arguments against the Christian's use of energy healing techniques: New Age and witchcraft. She leaves the reader with new clarity and empowerment. The energetic level of creation belongs to God. It's time He got the credit for it.

Splankna: The Redemption of Energy Healing for the Kingdom of God Reviews

Great book. Intriguing from the beginning and especially the section on witchcraft. Splankna is a redemptive healing therapy that should be investigated by Christians. This book is based on Jesus Christ as our healer. Very good read.

Fascinating book. The author combines science and a solid biblical perspective toward healing. I love the redemption theme throughout the book.

For those conservative Christians who may have heard of Splankna, and are worried about the New Age factor, this book addresses those concerns head on, as the author herself explains her own journey through these exact concerns.

An uplifting, engaging book, that not not only intrigued me for its scientific purposes, but also encouraged me on a biblical, spiritual level as well.

4.5 rounded up. Fascinating book with a thorough and easily understood breakdown of the neuro-emotional psychology of Splankna. The author covered not just the how, why, and what of Splankna, but she also gave great arguments in defense of it for people of faith who have honest hesitations about energy psychologies. She discusses her in-depth research of Reiki, Wicca, and New Age spirituality, and what she believes separates Splankna from these practices.

There were a few random opinions I didn’t agree with, but they didn’t have anything to do with Splankna, and didn’t impact the test of the book.

I do see a possible danger in the practice of Splankna, in how it could be used in a spiritually abusive way to blame any physical or mental health problems on unaddressed or unconfessed sin, or spiritual warfare.

Other than these two issues, I really enjoyed the book and learned a lot. I’m interested in continuing to learn more about Splankna.

Interesting information on energy healing from a Christian perspective. Thiessen devotes a majority of the book to the theology backing this form of therapy, arguing that it is fundamentally different from New Age and witchcraft, although it might appear to have similar methods. She claims this form of therapy has been incredibly effective for healing mental and physical traumas—in some cases healing issues in one session, whereas counseling can take years. Definitely thought-provoking.

I love her perspective of redemption with the art of energy healing.

  • Kim Osterholzer

A wonderful explanation of one of my favorite tools!

  • Allie Slocum

    Very interesting.

  • Katrina Laude

Thiessen does an excellent job of explaining what Splankna and energy therapy is/are and in distinguishing it from New Age practices. I can't wait to see it in person!

  • Sherry

While there is some bit of good information that can be found within, ultimately, there are many holes in much of the author’s logic and conclusions.

  • Patricia Dietz

I've been getting these treatments for a few months and am stunned by the deep full effectiveness of them. God has given us an amazing tool for spiritual and physical wellness. My husband and I are going to a 3-day Splankna seminar this weekend and I read this book in preparation for it. It's the most spiritually eye opening thing I've read apart from Scripture in 30 years. Quantum physics on a practical level.

i wish there was a bit more science and info on the quantum physics as to why it works. it spent a lot of time talking about how conclusion is the difference between splankna and “new age beliefs” but that same logic could be applied to a lot of the things that the book calls “wrong” so in that sense it is a bit ironic and contradictory. i enjoyed the different perspective on energy healing

excellent book a total believer, she healed my daughter of a Conversion disorder. She personally worked with her for 12 hours!

Fantastic book. Sarah does a great job of explaining the theological and theoretical grounding for Splankna. Anyone who has something negative to say about her or her therapy model clearly hasn't read the book. (Or read it with such a strong filter that they totally missed everything she was saying)
