Find Discover The Gift: Its Why Were Here Published By Demian Lichtenstein Distributed As Interactive EBook
two and a half, Nothing eyeopening here except the premise, perhaps, that we all have something totally unique and our own to offer the world while we're here this very short time on the planet.
It's up to us to figure out what our gift is and give it freely, That's why we're here. I would have given the book maybe three but too much of it was just filler quotes a few of them really inspiring ones by various motivational speakers.
Whatever the Dalai Lama says seems to hit the nail on the head and he really sums it up best when he says things like: "The future, good or bad, entirely depends upon present action.
" Everything you think and do matters, Now that's something you can take away from this book that really will make a difference, This is an earnest attempt to enlighten readers about metaphysical theories that can enrich life, Several brief quotes from people known in enlightenment circles added weight to the longer sections contributed by a brother and sister who overcame a painful past to move forward together in discovering their own gifts.
I appreciate people using their talents to help others, This felt very, very similar to The Secret, As in, if you replaced "gift" with "secret", it would have been almost the same thing, Despite the de ja vu feeling, there are still moments of wisdom to be had here, The authors' life stories were inspiring reminders of how to view adversity as growing opportunities, Of all the speakers, the Dalai Lama was the most insightful and he didn't appear in "the Secret" like so many of the others who made a repeat appearance.
If you do choose to listen to this audiobook, definitely wait for the moments with him, Discover the Gift also included meditation practices which I believe could be helpful to someone who wants more introspection in their life but may not know quite where to start.
I didn't know what to make of the moments of "insert chakra color here shining lotus sparkles" that Shajen used to introduce each section.
Those bits felt out of place to me, but the rest was fairly solid, new age/new thinking teachings, Good! Reread!! The book doesn't add anything significant, It's filled with quotations and comments of spiritual leaders in a way which is annoying, Honestly, I do liked the eight steps for discovering the Gift: Receptivity, Intention, Activation, Infinite Feedback, Vibration, Adversity and Transformation, Creating a Conscious and Compassionate World, and Love.
. Each step has some excercises for personal growth, . Interesting and useful content. The delivery was underwhelming. I could have thought I was picking up The Secret, or any number of books using this type of law of attraction template, and it felt like the narratives were cyclical and repetitive.
I found myself wanting to scan through the text rather than engage and consume the story, This book probably speaks to someone else not so much to me, I liked the beginning of this book for its exploration of family dynamics and background, I loved the advice and wisdom given, got the encouragement to slow down and remember the truth, This book was moving, touching and inspiring, A very good story and great book! I found this a difficult read, Skipped through it as it did not hold my attention, I am still wondering what our "gift" is, Does not have anything you wouldn't probably know as an Indian, the country which has a history of yoga and spirituality.
The book seems to have an audience in the western world specifically, Prático e simples.
. vamos experimentar : Repetitive, unstructured, random stories and audio quotes, It's alright to listen to, but lacks a clear goal,
Would not recommend. I love this book. I have put the exercizes into practice and I have actually found my Gifts, Some I had always had but never really considered them a Gift because they have always been there, I actually taught a small workshop about this book and it was wonderful to have so many people love what the book had to offer and many of them are buying this book.
