Reminiscent of Heinlein, who favored these kinds of tall-tales of individuals building space. What Levine does here, though, that’s slightly different, is the construction of a legend, how it starts and then snowballs, but he does it like the movie Memento, backwards. It’s actually very effectively done, from a written point of view, although I didn’t necessarily buy into the legend itself.
