Grasp Jungle Justice By Somi Ekhasomhi Classified In Brochure
a world where an accusation of theft is enough for a person to be lynched brutally, all it takes is an old tire, some fuel, a box of matches, and an eager crowd.
On a busy day in the streets, a young girl who has recently been transported from her uneventful life in a poor village, to live a life of forced servitude in Lagos, witnesses the vicious lynching of an innocent young man, as well as the brutal and questionable justice that soon follows.
This was a wonderful short story, It's about a man who is wrongfully accused of being a thief and is murdered, I enjoyed the story because it felt like a short snippet of Oshoke's life, but it had a profound impact on her, Ekhasomhi has a beautiful writing style that doesn't waste words, I felt like I could see many of the images in this story, no matter how horrifying they were, The innocence of ayearold girl telling such a horrific story that she just couldn't look away from was powerful,
Readers who can stomach graphic and horrific scenes of death and fans of literature by international authors would probably enjoy this short story.
