Read Online Death, And The Girl He Loves (Darklight, #3) Presented By Darynda Jones Formatted As Audio Books
ending!!! I loved it, Darynda! Please consider writing about the characters as they mature in a "new adult" series.
I am not ready to let them go,Stars for Death and the Girl He Loves: Darklight Series, Bookaudiobook by Darynda Jones read by Lorelei King.
This series is so much fun, I love the characters and the narration is superb, I really enjoyed this book series! At first I wasnt sure about it because the concept was really similar to another series I just read because really, who could ever be better than Dank, but after reading a few chapters I was onto it! The main reason I loved the series so much is because of the characters.
It is the first book to make me laugh out loud in a crowded room in a long time.
The kind of laugh that has everyone looking over at you like you are mental, “Crap on a cracker and “for the love of gravy” will probably stick with me forever.
The end had me a little confused, but all is well, I hope her other books are just as comical and fun loving! You can't have an entire trilogy centered around a girl with mystical powers who is prophecied to save the world, and then end it by having her go back in time and rewrite history so the whole trilogy never happened.
OUT. GET OUT. Seriously That was the way they ended it All this buildup and then, . . that To say I was disappointed would be an understatement, I feel like the author wrote herself into a corner and couldn't figure out how to get out so she just made some sht up at theth hour.
I hope this doesn't mean that the Grave series will have a crappy ending.
If it has an ending that is, I rate this book./stars. Darynda Jones has become one of my favorite authors, I really like her Charlie Davidson's adult series, and so I have followed her young adult series as well.
I have enjoyed reading the first two books of this series, Since this is the last book of the series, I have expected a big bang finale.
The characters who have grown on me in the first two books are missing in the first half of this book.
I have gotten antsy since the theme has changed, I have missed the craziness of Glitch, Brooke, Cameron, and of course Jared, New characters are introduced. I am fine how the author tweaked the story, but I have expected more scenes of Lorelei and Jared since this series is really about them.
Also, Jared's character is not brought out to the fullest, He is an Angel of Death for Godsake, I have expected a lot of asskicking scenes of him, as in helping Lorelei battle the apocalypse.
On positive note, I have enjoyed reading it, It has even made me cry, TITLE: death and the girl he loves

REVIEW
“stars!
Lorelei is the last prophet, and according to her ancestors she will stop the war that would end all wars.
So you see she has humanity resting in her shoulders, No Pressure. She decides to leave her hometown to go to a boarding school, Bedford Fields, She thinks that by running away she can keep those she loves save, Boy was she wrong. Bedford Fields is not all it seems to be, Good thing she has all these superpowers and people on her side,
Then one day she sees the end of the world, All these people dying. Thats not all that happens that day though, Lorelei also gets a mysterious note from some sociopath that says I know what you are.
The sociopath basically wants what is inside her, the demon, So you can guess that she is super freaked out,
She figures out who wanted her death and that gets taken care of, She knows that she needs to go back home, Thank God because by this point I was starting to miss everyone in the crew, Although, she made some allies in Bedford Fields like Crystal and Kenya, Kenya turns out to be a member of the Order and goes back home with her.
Crystal sadly does not.
Lorelei figures out how bad things really are back in Riley Switch, Her and the crew get working to figure out who Dyson is, Mac her grandfather shows up to help, She discovers with the persistence of Brooke a new superpower that without her knowing, yet, will help in the guest to stop the war.
She figures out who Dyson is with the help of a journal and then the day everything changes finally arrives.
Let me tell you it will be intense, Darynda does something that will blow your mind, I did not see it coming at all, I have to admit at first I was so lost it was hilarious, I totally didn't know what the heck was going on but I caught up pretty fast.
Oh oh you also discover something that you would have never guessed about the demon, MalakTuke.
You will love it though,
I have to say I loved every word of this book, I loved how the book had me guessing what was going to happen next all the way through.
I loved the ending as well as how everything turned out, I loved the twists and turns that Darynda threw at me, The only thing that I really didn't like was how there was not a lot of action between Lorelei and Jared, but all the other action going on compensated for that.
Plus they are finally together and turns out they have been together FOREVER, You will have to read to know what Im talking about,
Quote
“True heroes are never heroes for the recognition.
They do what they are supposed to do, play the hand theyve been dealt, And true heroes don't seek out heroism, Its thrust upon them. ”
What can I say that I haven't said before about this book I kept hoping it would improve but instead it got worse.
I still found Lorelei extremely annoying and not at all worthy of what she's supposed to be.
I was disappointed in the story and the ending was lame and anticlimatic, After all that build up to the end of the world and then bam, boring.
I'll still read the author's other series because I've heard better things about it but this one was blah.
The series started off ok, and usually with character development it gets better, usually but not so in this case, The characters got more annoying and just never stopped,
Oh well, you can't win them all, Like the characters The plot The story The author The series
DO NOT READ THIS.
It contains the worst deus ex machina I have ever encountered in any book I've ever read and I have no idea why it's gotten such reviews.
It's a copout, poorly written and poorly executed, I'm shocked this is Ms, Jones' work. Hopefully after a little time I can block it out,
Vastly disappointing and just terrible, No. I thought that was a satisfying end to a fun series, I can understand how the war might seem anticlimactic, but Lorelei was prophesied to stop the great war before it happened so it makes sense.
I enjoyed my time with this one, I don't think it's one I'll particularly care about in the future or recommend to others, but it was some fun, mindless entertainment.
Death, and the Girl He Loves
Darklight, Book
I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series
The Characters:
Lorelei McAlister:
Jared, Brooklyn, Kenya, Cameron, Grandma, Grandpa, Mac, a bunch more people
The Story:
This title is a misnomer.
This book has very little to do with Jared the angel of death and focuses almost solely on Lorelei.
In this final installment the war is finally here, The time has come to fight, With the aid of some new help Lorelei found while in hiding at boarding school she finds out if she can defeat the takeover of the earth.
The resolution was a bit crazy but ultimately creative on Ms Jones part, I am sad to see our time in Riley Switch come to an end, This has been a whirlwind of a series and I am very happy about how everything worked out.

Death and the Girl He Loves was a nice conclusion to the DARKLIGHT trilogy.
Was it my favorite of the series No, Was it interesting, compelling, and worth recommending, Absolutely!
This installment was quite a bit more somber and serious than the previous two.
Since the moment Lorelei found out about her heritage, she has known that she was the key to stopping a war, however, she never knew how, or when, and nobody could or would tell her.
As the end draws near, Lorelei's stress ratchets ever higher, and her self doubt skyrockets, Add to that the fact that she's literally foreseen the deaths of everyone she loves and is convinced that she just CAN'T stop what's to come, and she's kind of a mess.
As she and the rest of the gang try to come up with ways to literally stop the apocalypse and change fate, she systematically works through these complex layers and attempts to find her center.
While I enjoyed all of that, found the seriousness
necessary, and loved the journey and growth of the characters, I missed the snark and wit.
There just weren't as many one liners, snippy comebacks, silly escapades and practical jokes as there were in the previousbooks, and while my brain understood the necessity for the solemnity, my heart longed for the level of Darynda Jones snark and with that I've come to crave.
I will say this, where the book 'grew up' and swapped fun for seriousness in my opinion, it didn't turn into a stodgy old biddy shut in at home.
The level of action was as great, if not better, than the previousbooks, In addition, the suspense and surprise in this installment were amazing, The plot twist was very unexpected for me, and at first, I was honestly really confused.
Then, as it was all laid out and explained, I thought it was kinda brilliant! :
All in all, Death and the Girl He Loves was an engaging read that I would recommend.
I do recommend reading the entire series in order, however, as there is just way too much history for the book to stand well on its own.
