Excuse me while I hose myself down after reading that one... DAMN that was HOT!!
This book was the hottest thing I've read since the Market Garden books and I'm rounding up to 5 stars because it happened to touch upon many of my personal kinks. 5 stars for excellent erotica. Smoking stuff over here, Lana McGregor!! Bravo for a FAB debut book.
This book is all about the sex. Don't expect an epic romance or much action outside the bedroom. However, the sex here is so well done. If you are into virgins and dominance with a side of sweetness (I AM!!) than you will love this book. It reminded me of a steamier version of Anne Tenino's books, which is a huge complement coming from me because I am a Tenino fan-girl. It is low angst and high heat (did I mention that?!?!) and worth staying up until 2:30 am to finish.
I will most certainly be reading more by this author in the future. Thank you for creating a very... distracting novella.

Seriously hot for a couple of college students using each other as guinea pigs while exploring their new found BDSM tendencies. All the verbal discussion was quite refreshing and made this an unusually erotic read.
Highly recommended for M/M romance lovers who like the BDSM (specifically D/s) kink between college age men. Usually younger men isn't my thing, but this story really did it for me.

I'd had this book on my TBR list forever, and the blurb still sounded like I *might* like it, so I took a chance.
But alas, even mild dom/sub, spanking, collar/leash play just isn't my thing. At all.
The writing and plot were fine, but for me, reading those steamy parts was like someone rubbing my pinky toe and saying, "That's SO HOT, right???"
When it REALLY wasn't. For me.

I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a cheater.
When we were given the “assignment” to read BDSM for this week, I wanted to RUN far and fast in the other direction. I think, honestly, that “Fifty Shades of Grey” traumatized me. (Why is he not allowing her to pee before sex? And when is it ever ok to make someone cry by hurting them?) I just hated it. I thought Christian Grey was abusive. That’s how anti I was…(am…to be frank).
The only BDSM book I’ve ever been able to appreciate is "Rough Canvas" by Joey W. Hill. This one…THIS ONE…I could see and feel and experience the trust and love and dedication in the D/s relationship. But as much as I loved it, I wrote it off as an anomaly and still shied from BDSM.
So, here’s why I’m a cheater. I picked the shortest, fluffiest BDSM-tagged book I could find, with high ratings from all my friends. 30,000 words…I can do this.
I liked this book. It definitely IS sweet. And the relationship between shy, geeky, out Adam and closeted-jock Josh is right in my wheelhouse of favorite story arcs and I thought the two of them together were ADORABLE. And honestly, the sex was HOT. The premise of internet BDSM gay porn being the catalyst for a sexual-relationship-turned-boyfriends was super clever as well. And I enjoyed it a lot.
But 2 things kept me from loving it:
1 – I am notoriously squigged out by “dirty talk”. I just can’t take it seriously. I laugh or I cringe…every time. It’s kind of my…thing…to be anti “yeah baby, just like that. You’re a dirty boy. You like it don’t you?”. (I’m laughing as I type…neverthemind I’m sitting at my desk at work…) And there was page after page of the dirty talk. Nope. Not for me.
2 – Quite frankly, I just don’t think I can be a BDSM convert. This book is definitely BDSM-lite and it wasn’t awful…some spanking, a collar/leash, kneeling…totally vanilla when it comes to kink. BUT…I just don’t get it. In my mind while I’m reading it, I can’t wrap my understanding around the WHY’s of someone wanting to submit or to dominate. It’s just not ingrained in my head. And so, it serves as a distraction for me when I read it. It makes me question the characters and not fully embrace them. And it hinders my enjoyment.
I’m hoping that through some of the guest posts and reviews through BDSM week, I’ll be able to better understand. But, I just don’t think I’m a “kink” kinda girl. I tried…with an open’ish mind…but, yeah…still not for me.
All in all, this is an entertaining read. It was sweet and cute...just not 100% my thang.

This is my first experience with Shannon Gunn and I gotta be honest, he entertained the fuck out of me. The dude is committed. At one point, he was so into the scene he was almost yelling! But what quite literally had me cackling was his voice for Josh.
It's fucking Cartman!!!!!
Imagine, if you will, Cartman saying this...

I swear to all the deities that I literally cannot remember a time when I have not just laughed but actually cackled. I mean, head thrown back, clapping... shit, I even rewound it a couple times because I laughing so hard that I missed some of the lines. I lie. I rewound it because I wanted to hear it again.
This, my friends, is the poster child for so bad it's good.

Josh and Adam have been roommates for some time and never took the time to get to know each other. Oh, how they missed out! Once they did get to know each other they discovered they both enjoyed gay porn of the BDSM variety. (what a coinkydink, ME TOO!) They decided to experiment on their kink together.
This was so good. They’re both very inexperienced so they had to really rely on each other and have open communication. And they did. They so did! Well, when it came to what they wanted in bed, of course. Outside of bed? Not so much talking. But, back to the bedroom... there were no misunderstandings, no awkward moments, no questions because they talked about everything they wanted to do. The what, the how and the when. There was a lot of sex. But as these cute virgin boys continued with their exploration the sex scenes changed and there was some definite variety. I really enjoyed their lite experiments and the progression of the BDSM, it was fun and sexy as hells.
There was a little bit of plot with the “relationship” part of the story driven by the fact that Adam is out while Josh was not. Otherwise, this was an angst free, hot read.

Seemingly opposite roommates, Josh and Adam, decide to explore their kinks, wants and needs together. Sharing and opening new worlds and pleasures in each other with domination and submission. From pictures online to using what is around their room to trips to the sex store. I adored the questions, concern, slow steps and progression these two took in their exploration. Actually this story might have been a first for me—one where both characters were learning about their darker desires together. Usually there is one in the know leading the trembling newbie into the world of BDSM. But here both Adam and Josh are exploring the new emotions and power of humiliation, pain, and submission. They didn’t dive in with “Sir’s, clubs, or labels either. They just talked and experimented with their needs by sharing and trusting each other.
And boy-OH-boy did they spark, spank, and cry out with need and desire! The chemistry caught on the page here made me blush. Fueled by nerves and heat. The tension burned and crackled! That tiny, HOT dorm room was p-p-pulsing with sex! Adam and Josh could go from awkward to hot or sweet to intense in a blink of an eye. They fumbled and worked their way through what turned them on with words, touches, blushes, and grins. Adam slowly discovering his desire and power to go down on his knees for Josh—to please, trust, and give himself so completely to him clicked right into place with Josh’s need to protect, prepare, and keep Adam safe, hot, and horny. Very hot and dirty together! Believe me…Ms.McGregor is not afraid to get sticky with her down and dirty boys!

I adore Lana McGregor's sexy style. :D But she also possesses a fun, light sarcastic hold on her pages and banter. Supplying us with laughs and smiles while slowly building the relationship in the dorm room and out. The dorm room setting, by the way, felt so real to me at times. Adam and Josh did not hook up in a dark, leather filled club—it was their college dorm room. A room filled with empty Cheetos bags, laundry, and porn. It grounded the feel of the scenes in reality. Just two young, inexperienced men trying to find and understand their desires. To maybe find someone to share those fantasies and secrets with.
But my favorite part of this story and my biggest surprise was the sweetness. This story held such adorableness. A new layer to Josh and Adam’s relationship began outside of their sex games by sharing time together over meals and movies. As they got to know each other more and more, the confidence and comfort grew and changed. Yes, I “aw”-ed. :) But can Adam and Josh make it work outside of their dorm room games? Will they dare to ask for more? Want for more. Come knock on the dorm room door to find out!

This was not hardcore by any means and the fact that Josh and Adam were both virgins made this work for me.

3.75 STARS-- Lana McGregor's debut novella "His Roommate's Pleasure" is a steamy little nugget featuring two college roommates figuring themselves and their kinks out. Adam, geeky philosophy major stumbles on his supposed straight-jock roommate's gay BDSM themed porn on his laptop when borrowing his PC for a moment. Adam is shocked but intrigued because though he's out of the closet, he's never had any sort of sexual experience.
Josh, the closeted jock, is more than happy to help Adam and himself out in that department. Both roommates never spoke to each other than in passing so this shared interest in Josh's porn stash was a interesting building block. The story is a number of scenes between the two and also a development of a friendship between two people who on paper are opposites.
What I liked? The kink! It was fun reading about novices trying out collars and paddles. Or leashes and safewords. And the rimming scene...I enjoyed. Both men figuring out their likes and dislikes in the bedroom, it was cute. Plus the two roommates not declaring their love once they had their first sexual experience, it was appreciated. And the wait for actual penetration - not until the last 10% (made feel like a lecher but oh well) was exciting.
What I sort of liked? The wait for a kiss. I didn't know how much I took kissing for granted when it was denied until 72% in this story. But their first kiss and the rest that followed were great. And I also was not as in like with Josh until the kiss. He never reciprocated any of the oral pleasures Adam was always down to perform. I thought the story was going to go in the direction of Josh just using Adam for sex and staying comfortably in the closet.
But...
I was pleasantly surprised.
The eroticism in just handjobs and the lust of these virgin men, it was nice. And it has a happy enough ending. I did not expect the stance that Josh took. :) (I would have enjoyed some perspective from Josh's POV) I definitely will read more from this author. I suggest for readers wanting a hot yet light short story with light BDSM tones, give this book a try.

Who knew, a story with a lot of sex -- and one with D/s tone, in fact -- could be more satisfying that the last one I read (which was a lot tamer, sex wise). If based on the blurb alone, I will not give this book a second glance ... not with these words "leashes, paddles and domination" or "darkest fantasies of domination and submission". This was why Iblamewas grateful for friends reviews. I found this story highly enjoyable.
The story was on the right amount of HOT and SEXY ... with sprinkle of adorableness. Maybe because it starred two young men, who were both just discovering the art of D/s (no, I'm not calling it BDSM). They were awkward together, blushed together, playful together, and definitely getting all kinky together.
There was tenderness because they were both on the equal ground, even if Josh was the one wanting to be in control and Adam was the one submitting. It's not about pain or humiliation or punishment -- it's all about pleasure.
I LOVED their sexy times, which meant in every chapter (*fans self*) and it all made me shivery and tingly, right down to my toes. The writing was smooth and engaging, even if a couple of times lack of names made me a bit confused (it was only "he" and "he").
There was a cliché plot of Josh being a jock, thus not out to his friends, and one of his friends stated the homophobic slurs, but it never went angst. It was resolved quickly because Josh wanted to be with Adam. Full stop.
So yes, thank you friends ... I owe you this one. And after also being satisfied with

Adam’s computer breaks down so he has no other choice but to borrow his roommate Josh’s laptop. But what he finds on his computer is not what he expected of the jock. Gay porn, lots and lots of gay porn. Gay BDSM porn to be exact!
Adam finds himself mesmerized and when Josh catches him looking at the pictures he knows he cannot hide from Josh how those pictures made him feel.
Adam let out a breath, long and a little shaky. It was like there was suddenly a key to the locked door inside his head, and he’d only just discovered there was a door in the first place, let alone that he needed to look for a key.
These guys are all for the experimenting. It was great! But there were a lot of sweet, tender moments as well. The perfect combination for me.
PS. I wouldn’t recommend the audio. The narrator made Josh sound like a 80 year old nasty little pervert. I stopped with the audio and started reading. -

I was absolutely forced to immediately test read something on my new Kindle reader. This cute 84 pages shortie became a good choice.
Adam happen to see something on the screen and realizes that he and his roommate Josh has something in common, something they both want to try. Trying and testing they do, which leads to so much more.“You're so great,” Josh said, in between kisses. “I didn't know how tell you how great you were.”
“How great I am,” he corrected with a grin.’

This was a cute story about young love and new exciting discoveries. Perhaps not overwhelmingly good but absolutely worth reading in the NA genre with nice, hot, young inexperienced gay guys. Nice and tenderly told and I smiled - how wonderful to be young and find what you seek.

The only time I accidentally tripped and fell into someone's porn folder, it was my dad's and that incident proved once again that some situations that you have experienced unfortunately can never be unexperienced.
Anyway, this story is pretty simplistic, both in terms of the writing style and the plot. It adds to the feeling that you're witnessing the real thing develop, as opposed to a stylized, glamorized version of reality. I enjoyed the awkward explorations of these boys. The repetition, sweet rather than hot scenes, lacking vocabulary and plain and simple plot fit this particular story like a glove, but I'm not really sure if this was intentional or simply the best the author has to offer. 3.5 stars. -

Just lately I have gone right off MM fiction. I started to feel jaded, like I was disrespecting my own team. All this feminization and MPreg. Not that I don't like wearing frilly knickers myself, cause I do.

This is a delightful tale… HOT as FUCK! …and yes, it’s full of intense and extremely erotic sex and… oh my, those scenes were an absolute pleasure to read. It could be classed as a PWP, but I love my smut, mix it with BDSM and I’m one ecstatically happy lady! There is enough of a story to keep you engrossed, but it’s more about the emotional connection between the sweet, shy and very awkward geek Adam and our a closeted jock… Josh. I loved them, so damn sexy and adorable!
What sets this book apart from others of the same ilk, is that, Josh and Adam are sexually inexperienced, exploring a side/kink to their nature they have just discovered. This is BDSM at the fledgling stage, where neither of them has a clue of the wheres or whyfors and together they learn their inner most sexual desires, setting the boundaries and pushing the limits on a D/s voyage of discovery. We see what starts out as something full of uncertainty and almost clinical, grow through friendship, they begin to trust each other through their openness and honesty, communication being the key here although initially it’s only behind doors, but it’s not long before that Indifference turns to affection and the passion and intimacy is enough to keep that cold shower running!
Hot and very sexy read… highly recommended!

Um - WOW, that was steamy hot. Also, so surprisingly sweet and romantic. Pretty impressive actually, the author was able to dish out some seriously deliciously filthy stuff and still keep the characters sincere and loving.
Adam and Josh had been roommates and nothing more than passing acquaintances until Adam accidentally fell into Josh's porn folder on his laptop. Adam is shy, bookish and out, Josh is athletic, popular and in the closet. Once Adam discovers Josh's gay porn stash the adventures begin. And do they EVER.
They end up being a perfect match sexually and their arrangement and explorations was refreshingly honest. Josh asked Adam how wearing a collar and a leash was going to make him feel and Adam responded with "Dirty. Ashamed. Really fucking good." See? Sweet and dirty!
Adam continually referenced how safe he felt with Josh and his reactions to Josh made me believe he never would have been so open with anyone else.
When these boys do get together, you know, for reals, it's like Adam said at one point, "It was like the beginning of something more."
Highly recommended and hard to believe this is the author's first book. I'll definitely look for more upcoming books, this was just too fun not to want more! -

I absolutely fell in love with Josh and Adam. I'm so glad I took a chance on this one. While it is the sex scenes between the two that make up the majority of the book, they are possibly the sweetest, dirty sex scenes I've read in a while.
The two college roommates, seemingly opposite and barely having interacted over the few months they have lived together, accidentally discover a shared kink and start experimenting. Josh, the jock, wants to dominate and the virginal Adam is more than happy to submit. What made this book work is the fun and openness between the two and their conversations surrounding what they want. At first they only interact in their room, but soon Adam starts thinking that maybe they could be friends outside of the arrangement even though the crowd Josh hangs with is the same group that tormented him in high school (and this is the basic plot of the story).
I could easily read a continuing story about Adam and Josh. They had so much chemistry and were fun to read. I'm hoping to see more from Lana McGregor in the future. -
An interesting combination of sweetness and hotness as two inexperienced college roommates discover they are perfectly balanced in their desires.
Adam discovers some images on Josh's computer: images of kneeling, collars and spanking. He is hugely turned on and embarrassed at being caught but unable to get the images out of his mind.
"Did you, uh, like them?" Josh switched the TV off. "The pictures?"
He carefully refrained from pointing out he'd had his hand in his pants when Josh had walked in. "Yeah, I liked them."

"Kind of especially because they were all gay."
There is a real sense of anticipation and nervousness as Josh and Adam start to explore their D/s relationship. On one hand they are both tentative but they both know what they want and there is a real honesty to the relationship.
It is sweet to see their emotional connection develop at the same time as they get more adventurous in their exploration. "He and Josh were walking close enough that his hand could brush Josh's without much effort. He didn't, but he could."
This was a relatively short story but the journey was engaging from Josh and Adam's initial explorations into BDSM to their realisation they wanted more than a 'business arrangement'.

Natalie that there's something very fresh about this story. Josh and Adam are a great couple, the developing power exchange between them is kind of awesome, and the sex is both adorbs and hot.
Really, it's a PWP short. There's a decided lack of tension in the story. This makes it a good read for people who don't like a lot of angst, cheating, betrayal, soul-searching, orhomophobicasshole charcters.

I went into this book with pretty low expectations. I thought it might be a fun little smut story. Nothing bad, but nothing terribly engaging. Something fluffy, and light for me to read stretched out in the lawn chair. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, for a short, pretty smutty story, it had some real depth, and interest.
I really liked the characters. I found them to be well developed, and engaging. The main character in particular had a clear voice, and I found I was able to understand him in a very short period of time. I really liked his roommate very much, and loved that he wasn’t just the stereotypical jock.
What really made this story work for me was the sex. I liked how both characters were able to explore their sexual desires together in a respectful manner. They were starting on a fairly even footing, and it wasn’t about one roommate initiating the other, but about them both coming to discover what they both enjoyed together. I liked the research they both did, both together, and on their own, and I liked how this research was integrated subtly into the story. Both characters were very careful to keep the lines of communication open, and that they made sure to talk about everything they did before hand, and made sure to keep checking in with each other as things progressed to make sure they both were comfortable with what was going on. It was kinky, and I found myself able to enjoy it without feeling guilty because the consent was so clear, and I never once got the feeling one partner was pressuring the other into something he didn’t want.
Overall a really well done, and sexy story. I look forward to reading more by this author. -

Probably one of the most adorable entry level kinky stories I've read. A definitely delicious helping of sugar kink as two college roommates slowly, but boldly explore their sexuality finding out things that surprise both of them along the way. This isn't just a slap and tickle; the boys discover some more decadent ideas inspired by some porn--and with a little team effort they come to satisfactory agreements.
A little bit of spanking, a bit more humiliation and a whole lot of D/s. Overall, freshman year has yielded a great deal for Josh and Adam. -
This is some really great erotica. There's a freshness to the writing that completely took me by surprise. The story is almost all sex (not a bad thing), but the author manages to capture a sense of wonder and discovery. I also love that Josh and Adam have a lack of shame about their kinks. Fun, sexy, and sweet.
