" in my country a female is beaten for interfering in the business of men"
That line was said by an Arabic person ...
As an arab You can not imagin how disgusted I am by that line ....and I thought authors were more educated and open minded ..guess there is always that ignorant a** who does not know what they are talking about ..*sigh*
And the sad thing is I actually liked the story and the charachters .and I did not mind that the bad guys were Arabs we are not saints so it was ok until I read that line ..
Please people words can hurt as much as actions ..so be careful what you say or...write ..!! -
This novel has blown me away..
It has become one of my FAVOURITE reads of this year and I am so ridiculously excited about this series!
AND THE FIRST BOOK IS FREE TO DOWNLOAD! -

MAY 2015: Apparently I need to just...reread all my favorite books from this year.....*sigh*
I haven't really stopped thinking about this book since I finished it the first time around back in January. It starts out kind of slow, there really isn't anything special about it....but then you read on, and you start to piece together what Sara is all about.
This book is a lovely mix of vampire, werewolf, troll and faerie stories, along with some other creatures. You would think, that it would be just a mess with so many supernatural creatures, but it really does work here.
I said it before, and I will repeat that it is beautifully written. I love it as much as I did the first time around, maybe even more...Sara wasn't as much of a pain as I originally thought. I love all the characters here, Lynch definitely did it right when she introduced us to each of them. Also, you can't beat Nikolas Danshov. He is my top fictional boyfriend. I love him! He is the best.
I recommend this to everyone, really...its so good! definitely one of the top favorite books [series...] I've ever read.
------------
JAN 2015I hate finishing such amazing books. this one was beautifully written. there were times I wasn't so fond of the main character...but she's pretty bad ass all in all. I am looking forward to getting my hands on the next one! -
This book is currently free on Amazon (12/04/2021)! 😁

4.5 stars
Wow! I did not expect to like this book so much, especially since it was a free kindle on Amazon. It's certainly not your typical YA story, it has twists and turns that leave you full of doubt and suspicion.
This book is a fun, action-packed adventure full of vampires, demons, fae, werewolves, trolls, and other mystical creatures. The world-building is simple but well done, there is a lot of action, but it is well written too and not too rushed. The characters are also great, I really liked them all and I liked the way they interacted together.
Meet Sara Grey, an ordinary teenager... well not so ordinary since she can heal animals and mythical creatures. Everything is fine until she is attacked by a vampire and discovers that she is not as human as she thought she was. She changes a lot through the book, and her character development is very well done.
“If I ever got this stupid over a guy I hoped someone would slap some sense into me.”
I liked the fact that there is no romance in this book, even though Nikolas is obviously handsome and we know Sara finds him attractive. There might also be hints that he finds her beautiful, but the story is not focused on teenage romance and I liked it. It allowed the author to focus more on world-building and the introduction of the plot. There is no insta-love, it's even more of a hate/love relationship and I'm excited to see how it will develop in the next book.“Compassion and kindness are powers unto themselves if wielded correctly.”

This was a YA fantasy story about a girl who could heal.
Sara was an okay character, but she did seem to put herself at risk a lot. I got that she cared for both people and animals when they were suffering, but she could have been more careful, especially when it came to meeting strangers, and she seemed to spill her secrets to more and more people as the book went on.
The storyline in this was about Sara learning that she wasn’t fully human, and learning that people were searching for her because of it. Why the news about her not being human was a surprise though, I don’t know. It’s not like normal humans go around healing animals with their bare hands. I felt like the story took a long while to get going though, and it never fully held my attention.
The ending to this was okay, although it was obvious that the story would continue in the next book.

5 Golden brilliant stars!!!
WOW. Such brilliance, much entertaining, so good, very well written. OMG. WOW. Excite. Vampires, werewolves, witches, demons, angles....we've all read them before. But in this book, it's like I'm reading about them for the first time. It's a new concept with also introducing a few mystical creatures too, which was very refreshing and highly interesting. The characters were well developed, the plot was intricate but very good, and the writing was excellent. I was very surprised on how much I enjoyed this book....it reminded so much of the Vampire Academy and the Fae series by Karen Marie Moning. I recommend it to all who want a new and refreshed look to the world of vampires and werewovles, your faith in them, restored.
Till then, waiting for the sequel!!! -
Oh my... this book.... had too much of everything...
Stupidity, plot-holes, mystical creatures, alleged plot-twists, people, more stupidity, mood swings, but hey! at least no kissing!
...
... okay, that's not positive.
But let's start with the good things first: the Mohiri. I won't forestall what those are, but the idea - even though how they came to being isn't logical for me - was pretty good.
All the mythical creature overload, sylphs (air elementals), trolls, vampires (actually demons), werewolfs, demon-hunters (actually demons, too), male witches (that was awesome). The only overload I though was pretty cool.
The writing is good, it was an easy read, though my eyes still hurt from rolling. But we're still with the good things, right? Right.
Sadly, there isn't much for me. I liked the friendships, even though the final explanation ruined it a little.... honestly the final explanation about why and how and what the BIG CAPITAL F is Sara ruined pretty much everything. It annoys me so much, I cannot even write a structured review.
I liked that there wasn't really romance and the boy, who obviously fancied Sarah and whom she liked to, had nothing to do with the whole story, which was nice. And he respected her wishes, which was nice. What wasn't nice that even this got ruined through the final revelation about Sara.
Sara pretty much ruined everything about this story. I don't mind a naïve character, but I expect character development from the MAIN female character. But there was close to NONE. Which is why I cannot recommend this book to anyone.
Yes, the need of helping others is not a bad thing and a really good character trait as long as you THINK before you act. It doesn't help if you want to protect and help people, when you but them in MORE danger through your actions.
Let me not start about the plotholes....
I won't talk about the twilight chemistry, or the true blood faerie land...
Sorry, but I cannot cheer for a female character that does everything wrong and is still the hero. Plus her being
This character ruined the book for me.
No, I won't continue the series. 1.5 rounded to 2, because I definitely wasn't part of the target market. -
This has to be one of my fave reads of 2014.
A diverse range of mythical/magical creatures? Check.
A kickass heroine (Sara) who's not afraid to face danger head-on? Check.
A hot vampire hunter (Nikolas) with a Russian accent? Check, check, CHECK.
I'm off to buy the next book now - I'm looking forward to reading more about Sara, her adventures and (of course) Nikolas ;) -
DNFing this at 14%
It's strangely a case of it's not you, it's me, this time, because there's nothing wrong with the book, I just don't like it because it's too YAish and I think my tolerance for YA writing, characters and stories in general has reached its limits with this one.
Again, not the book's (or the aurhor's, for what matters) fault; I probably would have loved it if I read it when it came out, years ago, and at least I got it for free on amazon.
That cover tho😩✨ -
This book was like a drug for my inner nerd. I love all things paranormal and I had several cracked out moments reading this. Trolls. Goblins. Vampires. Demons. Werewolves. Then she went to Fae and my brain went into overload! I heart Faeries!
Then let's move onto Nickolas. I wanted to jump into the book and dry hump his leg. IN. EVERY. SCENE. whew. Fans self! Fierce. Loyal. Protective. And enough testosterone to melt the panties right off of you!
That is all for now. Must read book 2 immediately. No time to write a review that actually makes sense. -
Sara to odważna, uparta i pełna empatii nastolatka. Polubiłam ją i resztę bohaterów, zwłaszcza trolla Remy'ego.
“Sometimes I thought of us as a pair of damaged bookends. We both had our flaws but we belonged together even if there was always something between us, keeping us apart.”
Book-related quotes always buy me over. So there’s that.
The cover is…uhm not my cup of tea. I like to imagine the characters myself, and the half faces ruined that for me, and now they’re stuck in my head!
Sarah lives with her uncle and heals animals, imps and other magical beings called ‘The People’. One night she goes to a party and meets a vampire. Everything goes wrong from there. Stay tuned!
Sarah is a special snowflake, A VERY SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE, as it will turn out. And she acts like it. I mean, yeah, she’s kind and compassionate and heals animals, tries to help everyone (and gets in a mess, because that’s what happens when you don’t think before you act) while being a good friend and a human being, which is great. BUT, like I said, she’s a special snowflake; every boy/werewolf/vampire/mohiri is attracted to her, every girl hates her and is insanely jealous of her. She likes classic rock music and knows who Janis Joplin is, while the other girls squeak and squeal and love Backstreetboys… She’s also, obviously, a tom boy and totally not aware of the boys’ attention. I’m sorry but this is getting old, this hatred and aversion from ‘girly’ traits. The explanation in the end as to WHY all the boys like her and all the girls hate her, doesn’t completely absolve this trait, since like I mentioned, in her eyes, the other girls only think about hot boys (while Sarah is of course, totally oblivious of them and of her affect on them) and act nasty towards her because of it.
I did like the fact that even though she has a Mohiri (half-demon vampire hunters) bad-ass bodyguards, two werewolf friends and a best friend in the form of a troll, she can stand for herself, and doesn’t (well…usefully that is) need saving. You go, snowflake!
The writing was nice and flawing, and the plot was ok, that is, except for the plot holes… For example; her healing doesn’t work on humans so she can’t heal her wheel-chaired uncle. BUT, there is a potent spoilery thingy that can cure even cancer and Alzheimer’s and prolong life. WHY in the name of all the faeries didn’t Sarah try it on her uncle?! Second major plot hole was in the end, when Sarah got in trouble (again…) and the bad-ass mohiri bodyguard (that I definitely don’t have a crush on) gets to the right place at the right time, even though no one except Sarah and her troll friend knew about that place. How very convenient…
All in all it was a nice read and I’ll continue to the second book in the hopes that it will get better and will have more Nikolas screen time :P -
Read #2
Buddy read with, Louise! I link her review once it's up.
This book is great! It's obviously not as good as the rest of them (because let's face it, the others are AH-MAZING) because it's primarily set-up of the supernatural world. There is plenty of action, but it's only the beginning.
I needed some romance (which is why I'm also rereading book two; I need some Nikolas deliciousness) but I really respect and appreciate the fact that there isn't any romance in this book.
I like this move by Karen because and the lack of romantic interaction in the entirety of the first book solidifies the relationship as one not based on an immediate attraction!
So I reread this book in French because I'm studying French and would really like to improve.
It was hard.
And it was the first full-length novel I've read in French. I started reading it back in October and didn't finish it until the end of January because a) I had the most insane semester ever and b) it was hard.
There were a LOT of words I did not know and I couldn't exactly go and look them all up because I would have been an old woman by the time I finished.
I realized that the less I focused on each individual word, the more I understood due to increased flow. With any text, you can't just read the words; you have to take a step back and look at the big picture. Often, because this was in a different language, I forgot to take a step back because I panicked.
But I did take a step back and found that I was reading faster and understanding more. I was definitely a rough journey, but I'm excited to do it again! I learned so many new and useful vocabulary words that I can apply and I'm so happy!!
To any of you studying a foreign language: I recommend finding a book that you have already read and adored in the language you're studying. It's an incredibly useful step in the process!

Read #1>
I should have written a review for this a long time ago.
Now, what I remember is very limited.
I just remember that it was pretty darn awesome!
Honestly, I was confused as to why everyone crushed on Sara at some point or another. I had the passing thought that it was a lame attempt by the author to create a likable/perfect protagonist.
But then we discovered that it was because she is part fey and I was like:
That makes waaaaayyyy more sense!
And that's my lame review. I'm sorry! -
My casting:
This book wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either.. Can't really make up my mind.. However, it was reeeallly long... and it felt like it took forever to read -.-' The story was good, but since it felt like it was taking forever to finish, I had mixed feeling about the book. Mixed feelings means hard to rate.
Rate: 3/3.5 stars. -
finally a series I can't wait to continue reading...

-
I’m right in the middle with this book. Some parts I loved and thoroughly enjoyed while some just made me cringe. It really was a mixed bag! I thought the concept and the ideas were really interesting but the execution was a bit lacking. It also could have been a hell of a lot shorter and I probably would have enjoyed it WAY more if it had been cut down a bit.
-
I loved this book. It was adventurous and the plot is great. There are so many creatures in this book. It's confusing and entertaining at the same time but the latter part was more prominent because I enjoyed it. There isn't any romance in this book, I hope it changes in the next book because I absolutely love Nicholas and Sara together. One thing I didn't like is, it's a very lengthy book. I felt the author could have shortened it.
-
I enjoyed that. :) :) Adding book 2 to my TBR now!

5+++++
What an amazing book!!
It was really a pleasure and an intriguing reading experience. From the moment I opened the book until the end, I was so fascinated by every word and sentence written by these author.
The writing was wonderful: a fascinating plot full of mystery, humor, lots of action and breathtaking scenes. The author understands so well the nature of human beings, the nature of animals.
The references to “Buffy” made me happy. You can see that the author read a lot of books in these genre, but she brings something of her own, no doubt excellent writing ability.
I loved the characters. Loved Sara and god, How much I loved Nikolas. Sweet baby demon he was hot!!!!!!! The romance was so so good with an existing moments, at times small moments and small gestures that i loved so much. My heart danced with palpitations!!!
I loved Sara’s friends. The relationships written so well.
Excellent YA urban fantasy book! Highly recommended for those of you who loved Cassandra Clare’s, Stephanie Meyer’s and Jennifer Armentrout’s books.
Can’t wait to pick up the next one. -
I recently discovered Karen Lynch and her amazing debut novel Relentless. I read almost constantly in the YA Paranormal/fantasy genre and it is so difficult finding something different, enticing and very well written. But here it is.
From the first pages with Remy (I LOVE HIM) I was sucked in. I really liked Sara, I loved the relationship she has with her 'brothers' and the romance aspect felt perfect. Not insta-love, but the bones of what feels like could be an epic love-story. And the way all the supernatural creatures merged together seamlessly was very well done. The creatures aren't new but the story feels original.
The story wraps up nicely, leaving just enough intrigue that I'll be waiting to read the next chapter for sure. -
Is it any wonder that I've reread this series numerous times?
I loveeee these characters so much
Update:
How many times could I possibly reread this series you ask?
We will never know. We will never truly know. -
3.5 out of 5 Stars...I think...
If I'm being honest, I'm not sure how this book found its way into my hands. Not only physically (for real I have no recollection of purchasing this), but also what lured me into starting this yesterday afternoon.
And Lord was I ill prepared for what I signed up for. First of all, I had no clue this was book 1 in a 6-deep series...so far...?... Second, I wasn't expecting how chock-full of creatures this book was going to be. Seriously you name it and it was in there: Vampires, werewolves, fae, elementals, vampire hunters, gobels, trolls, hybrids, offensive stereotyped villains, etc.
And ALL in 280 pages!!!
I want to read more since I suspect book 1 was basically foundation for the journey ahead, but I'm also fearful of what might be around the bend if so much made its way into book 1!
If I'm being totally honest a MAJOR factor in my decision to read book 2 is to get me some more Nikolai.
What IS it with fictional characters named Nikolai?!?!?
Full RTC once I've sorted my thoughts. Has anyone else read this? I need to discuss asap! -
Okay, first of I'm an honest reviewer and if the book is bad, I'll say so. Now lemme proceed.
This book is a 4.98 stars book
The book begins a bit too slowly for my liking, and the beginning of the book definitely did not capture my attention. The actual story started when a bit later when the mc was introduced, and from then I could not put the book down.
The development of the plot is beautiful, every twist and turn leaves you breathless, and I was honestly clawing my heart out in the sudden twist of plot, and that my people is the beauty of this book.
Now coming to the character development
Sara Grey: I personally liked the character because she wasn't stupid and she understood what was going on around her, and in utter honesty she didn't need anyone to protect her because she didn't want anyone to risk their life for hers. Her character potrays a strong and independent female lead whom I admire.
Nikolas Danshov: In honesty is it just me or Nikolas totally resembles Derek Hale from Teen Wolf? His utter intelligence and his rage are my most favorite bits of him. He is worth drooling over, although there is not much of a review of him in this book, I'm telling you, the next book you'll literally rip your heart out.
That being said HOW IS THIS BOOK NAHT FAMOUS LIKE SERIOUSLY? DO YOU GUYS KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET MY HANDS ON SUCH GOOD BOOKS? LIKE WHY DON'T PEOPLE READ BOOKS THAT ARE ACTUALLY SO FUCKEN GOOD LIKE WHAT! AND I'M TOTALLY PISSED BY THE FACT THAT IF NOT FOR MY FRIEND I WOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN MY HANDS ON THIS BOOK phew a fangirl moment up there but seriously. This book is dope.
READ THIS BOOK no matter what because trust me its got a 5 star from me, a person who normally keeps away from supernatural stuff but this book.............. phew seriously. -
**
After a couple of introductory chapters, I felt like I was reading Shadowhunters saga. The similarities between the background of the protagonist, Sara, and Clary Fairchild are not few, then we have Nikolas, belonging to a secret lineage of warriors who fight evil, and his friend - a warrior himself - who usually pulls with the arch to take down enemies: let's add various vampires and werewolves and you will understand why I started to turn up my nose after a few chapters. But instead of abandoning the reading branded it as a copycat, I continued it and I must say that, at the end, I also have liked it, it is true that the points of contact with the Clare's saga are not few, but there are also many differences and a plot that - in the end - goes on its own and does not at all follow what happens at Jace & Co. -
4.5/5 ⭐️❤️❤️❤️
A, wow!
„Nieugięta” to powieść pełna wampirów, wilkołaków, trolli, demonów i innych owianych legendą stworzeń. Znajdziemy w niej zarówno humor, jak i wartką akcję, świetną fabułę i naprawdę dobrze wykreowanych bohaterów. Pokochałam ich już od pierwszych przeczytanych słów! (Remy!❤️)
To naprawdę ogromny plus!
Potrafi uzdrawiać zwierzęta i mityczne stworzenia. Trzyma swoje zdolności w tajemnicy, aż do pewnego pechowego wieczoru.
Czytajcie "Nieugiętą" <3 -
As i al anxiously holding the third book in the series in my hand, i won't really write much of a review... as you can guess.
This was an interesting story. There were trolls, vampires, werewolves, and many more creatures, including hot, Mohiri males.
I loved the action, the adventure, the fighting, and basically everything. It is really good, indeed.
