This is, unfortunately, a terrible, terrible book. Wangerin is brilliant and rightly famous for his fiction and nonfiction. But this one was a mistake--these poems are trite, dull, and often even silly. But no need to dwell on it at length.
And now, on to something more positive... -
Although better known as a fiction author, Wangerin's poetry is vibrant.
