in stored for you,. I was kind of disappointed in Emerald as a character, She just seemed to whiny and and "poor me" all the time,

Emerald is the last gem to find her mate, But there is another man who is determined to have Emerald as his, With a stalker on her heels who will do anything to get to her, she also has to deal with her intrusive sisters and their mates.
She doesn't begrudge them for having families and mates, She's more envious because she's sure nobody will want a school teacher who can't even pay her bills, besides she only seems to attract those who show their affection with their fists.


Jul Whitney is starting his company as a sole owner instead of a partnership, So naturally he doesn't have time to go with his mother to visit her old friend Annabelle Erickson, But one shooting has brought his mom back to town and begging him to come with her to recuperate,

When Emerald and Jul finally come together Jul will have his work cut out for him, He has to show that a man can show his affection for his woman without her fists and that just because he has money doesn't mean he expects her to stop doing what she loves.


I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Once again the amazing Kathi S, Barton has done it. I could not put it down, From the moment that I picked it up till I read the very last word, this book has me in its grasp.
The characters are totally amazing and the story will keep you interested and you will not be able to put it down.


This has to be on your TBR list, Liked this one emerald was less of a giant Bth than the other gems lol Emerald is the youngest of the Gems she has watched her five older sisters find their mates and be happy.
Emerald has the worst luck with men and one in particular who doesn't take no for an answer and has hit her.
She knows that she will never be as happy as her sisters and find her mate,

Jul is taking his wine business from a partnership to sole ownership he gets shot and because of his Mom's friendship with the Gems grandmother he is taken to the Gems house.
When he meets Emerald he knows he has to be with her he doesn't know why he knows this he just does Emerald knows he is her mate but with her life the way it is she knows she can't be with him.


Will Jul and Emerald get the life they deserve and be happy This is a must read I'm sorry to see this series end.
Congrats Kathi S Barton on a great read and an awesome series, 'Emerald' is the sixth and last book in Kathi S, Barton's "Rare Gems" series. I always seem to forget how heartwarming one of Ms, Barton's series is and then immediately remember as the lump forms in my throat and my eyes well up, Emerald is the baby of the family, All her sisters are happily mated and married to extremely

successful and wealthy men, Unfortunately, Emerald doesn't have that and at the rate, things are going, she can't see it happening any time soon, if at all.
She seems to have a knack for attracting me who prefer to inflict pain on a woman rather than cherish one, The latest is a man named Nolan whom she's never even dated but the man has already beat a friend of hers with a baseball bat because he had the nerve to be out in public having a drink with, what Nolan proclaimed, was his wife.
Emerald lives in the city so shifting to heal or even defend herself is almost impossible for fear of being seen, To add to that, she's a teacher and filing in at a disadvantaged district for the summer so the additional worry of keeping not only her friends and family safe is weighing on her but all the children at the school.
Jul is the son of Celeste, Annabelle's old friend, After umpteen years, Celeste has decided to go visit Annabelle and catch up, Jul winds up being shot by a mugger when leaving his business and eventually winds up staying with Annabelle and the gems with his mom while he recuperates.
Emotions are high with all the drama, uncertainty, insecurity, and horror that's presented but the chemistry of new fated mates prevail in the midst of everything.
This was the perfect ending for a great series, Not only did the last gem find her mate but another couple got their happily ever after as well,

Em amp Jul are the couple in this book amp this IS the last book in this series.
This book also had me crying as one of the characters that had been in this series from the beginning died but she died from old age amp was not harmed in any way.


Em has an evil stalker who has on occasion beaten her up in public making her not able to turn wolf amp kill him.
Jul was shot in an almost robbery amp his mom who was visiting Annabelle rushed to his side when she found out that he had been shot Annabelle went with her to the hospital.
Jul amp Em meet one weekend when she came home amp from there their mating was immediate,

Jul like all the other mates to the Gems was very rich amp also like the others not snobby about it either.
Em was trying to make ends meet as she didn't want to take any money from her family, even if they would give it to her amp they would too.


There are some deaths in this book ampof them is a child,of Em's students amp she kind of blames herself for not doing more Sloan took care of his killers there are lots of sex scenes, good vs bad plot amp some kids.
This last book was very excellent amp I love so far all of the series that I've read by this author amp highly recommend that you read her books.
