But when a flirtatious new doctor chooses Heather to spend his down time with, he reminds her of the man she regrettably gave up so many years before. Each interaction breathes new life into her and she gives in to the doctor’s seductions, threatening her fifteen year marriage.
Her co-workers Victoria and Catherine, are stunned by her actions, but when they see the positive transformation in Heather, and question their own crumbling marriages, they wonder if she has the right idea.
Can cheating on their husbands bring the three of them happiness? Or will they be destroyed by the consequences?
Cheating to Survive (Fix It or Get Out #1) Reviews

The story line is fierce and intimate. The details are raw and accurate. I was amazed at the style in which this author chose to use in the plots of this book. If you want hot, goodness this is the book for your eyes to feast on. I love that it gets into your mind and has you really thinking, even after you finish it. I would love to own this as a physical/print copy for my home library and also to share. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a taste for passion and truth.

SURVIVAL - What a Girl Needs!
I absolutely ADORED this book! Such a great entertaining read and quite different from the normal stereotypical romance novel.
I could totally identify with each of the characters and I love how the author made sure their lives and situations were down to earth and above all...believable. Within the pages of this book, you'll feel as if you're right there in the story; you'll experience every emotion and the story does not disappoint!
If you're looking for a book that has relatable, real life scenarios that will draw you in and leave you thinking that this could be someone you know, then this is the book for you. I felt as if these could be my girlfriends and I swear that I was right there having coffee with them, loving every minute of it.
Can't WAIT for the next book...Ms. Ardigo, you write it and I'll read it. Thanks for such an enjoyable experience! -
The author does a great job of drawing you in from the first few pages. I was unable to put this book down.
It was so well written, you could feel the emotions of each character as if you were there with them. Would highly recommend this book. -
I was given an advance copy of this book to review by the author, prior to publication.
This book is very much a realistic life story. It revolves around three women who all work in the same hospital. Each one of them is unhappy with their life and their husband.
Heather, who married the wrong man. A lawyer who won't support her or spend time with his children. She embarks on an affair with a hot new doctor at her workplace, looking to fulfil what is missing in her life.
Victoria, married young to the man she went to prom with. Her children are now grown with their own lives and the spark has gone out of her marriage. Her husband pays more attention the to TV than to her. After Heather admits her affair to Victoria, the latter is intrigued. Can she find what is missing in her life through cheating too? Then she meets a man at a lecture she is giving and temptation calls.
Catherine, married to a man who is no longer interested in her. Her kids disrespect her and she pretty much hates herself and finds it impossible to stand up for herself. When she hears of Heather and Vitoria's passionate affairs, she is disgusted, but jealous. Can't she find the happiness they have found? She also soon embarks on a wild affair.
The book is filled with rich characters and is very realistic. I could picture every one of them in my head clearly. You are drawn into their world and their worries and fears. I won't say how things turn out for each woman, as that would spoil the book. It is certainly not what each one expects when they first begin their journey into cheating to survive.
I would highly recommend this book. It is a great debut novel by this author. I look forward to reading more of her work. -
This is an excellent read – perfect debut novel!
Cheating to Survive -by
Christine Ardigo is a story that has a realistic plot with well-developed characters that draw you into the story from the beginning. All three women, Heather, Victoria and Catherine are unhappy in their lives. They have a vile boss and non-supportive husbands. Their marriages are miserable and intimacy free. You come to care for these women and want them to find happiness.
To escape the reality of her depressing life, Heather embarks on an affair with a hot doctor at the hospital where the women work. Her sudden happiness makes the other two women jealous until they realize they can achieve the same happiness through having an affair also. Victoria meets the program leader at a cancer research center and Catherine catches the eye of one of the doctors at the hospital.
You feel for the women as their home lives remain on a roller coaster ride. They come to a point where they realize they must ‘fix it or get out’. I won’t say what happens, but you’ll feel good about how each woman’s situation ends.
This is a great debut novel for
Christine Ardigo. I look forward to her next novel. -
Three exceptional women are married to three exceptionally bad husbands. All three husbands deserve to be kicked out on their butts, but Christine Ardigo gives us a wonderful alternate scenario--each woman begins an affair, with total justification if ever there were any, and each finds new things to appreciate about herself amid sexual and emotional awakenings. The character development was excellent, and the changes that occurred in each woman's life were honest and realistic. All wasn't perfect in any of the extra-marital relationships, and I loved the author's integrity in keeping it real. "Fix It or Get Out" was the impetus behind their actions, and each woman found her actions leading her to where she should be. Christine Ardigo is an excellent writer who knows how to keep a reader turning the pages. Definitely looking forward to reading Book 2!

Christine Ardigo's first book is fabulous. I will be watching for all of her books. You will be lost in this book the second you hit page 1.
In Cheating to Survive, Christine masterfully intertwines the lives and loves of three co-workers/sometimes friends as they each struggle and try to master the trials of marriage. This story is true to life and while you may not agree with some of the actions with the characters, that is exactly what true life is all about. -
Cheating to Survive was a fabulous read with a well paced plot and fantastic characters. The characters were all strong women taking their lives into their hands, making mistakes along the way - as we all tend to do. I love how each of them grew and developed throughout the story, their friendship changing along the way.
I can't wait to read more of Christine's books. In fact I have her second book Every Five Years on my Kindle now! -
Wonderful debut novel! I can totally relate to these women and their dreams. I loved it!

It’s an interesting book because I was wondering to whom I should recommend it? Women who are thinking about getting married (to re-examine their guy), women, who are happily married so they can see what they are missing (thank-God), or husbands, who feel they should do something to improve their marriage.
Throughout the book we are following Heather, Catherine, and Victoria, and their families. I suffered the most with Heather, because her mother-in-law could star in a movie without a script. I felt, that when insecure Heather married Lance she did not realize that this woman would make her the reason for everything that is and could possibly be wrong his her son’s/Heather’s husband’s life. To be honest I could not understand why she did not think about cheating any earlier.
I did not really connect with Catherine, but that’s a personal problem. I was never a ‘perfect mom’ like she is, nor did I attempt. That’s probably why the story of her affair is really interesting (sorry, no spoilers)
Probably of all stories, Victoria’s story is the most common; she and her husband have been married so long, that they have drifted apart.
What makes this book exceptional is that the author writes fabulous dialogues.
“…
“Sorry I lost my job. Throw it in my face why don’t you? Don’t you even care about me?” He threw his head into his hands.
[We feel for Ed and wonder about Victoria.]
Victoria’s heart oozed. The sorrow in his eyes sparked memories of her father. “I’m sorry, I’m being inconsiderate. Let me start dinner and then we can talk while we eat.”
“I don’t want to talk to you, I just want food.”
…”
[Now we realize what the problem is. Plus, we feel that this kind of reaction must have happened too often already.]
It is these excellent dialogues that made this book better and different than similar books I have read. The author demonstrates her talent to tie us, the readers, to the story. We want to know how the three friends can move on.
Summing up, I’d recommend this book to all three groups as mentioned at the beginning of my review; probably most of all – to husbands.

I must confess that I am surprised about this book and how it is told and the style in the book. It was not what I had expected and it took me by surprise but I must say that it made the book more memorable and the style fit the story very well, surprisingly well even. The book is very well written and the language is very well used to make the plot and twist in the book outstanding. The language helps to drive the story line and the story line is very realistic so it is easy to get drawn in to the book and get hooked. I read all 3 books in a day and that is not common for me to do but I couldnt get enough when I got into the book and into the story.
This book also challenged me and my viewings because I hate cheating and finds no excuse what so ever for it, but when I read this book I could put myself in the womens perspective and I sort of understood why they did it and what drove them to the point of doing what they did. I was so surprised who I could do this and still have my thoughts about cheating and well that hasnt changed but this gave me another perspective of things and what drives people into doing what they do.
Even if this book may sound heavy and dark it is not only that, it is romantic, it is funny and yes I laughed too. So the way the author can write a story that is kind of heavy and isnt the most easy subject and still make the book so awesome is something special and really good. I enjoyed the book a lot and I hope that I one day will have enough money over to buy this one and the rest as paperback because they are so good even if they challenge your views and perspective of life and makes you see things in different lights.
If you havent read this book yet, you have missed something because I felt like I had missed something when I was finished with it. Like Why hadnt I read this before? So this book is a really really good book and a must read book. -
Faced with discontent in your marriage, what would you do? Ms. Ardigo takes on this truly difficult question. We meet three dynamically different women, each floundering about in the deep end of their marriage and wondering what will save them.
Each make the choice to explore a relationship outside their marriage, to find emotional or physical fulfillment. Heather is married to someone who places their individual achievements far above the needs and wants of his family. Victoria is married to her high school sweetheart and though she tries to stay connected, there is no doubt that they have matured into very different people over the past thirty years. Catherine's marriage problems stem from her past and her inability to cope with normal intimacy.
Ms. Ardigo takes us on a journey where we explore the inner workings of these women's minds and hearts and the value they place on family and love. In the end each woman comes to their own conclusions about how the future unfolds, and it is the honesty within their circle of friendship that helps them rescue themselves.
A truly well-crafted and emotionally conceived book that encourages us not to judge but to try to understand. -
Perfect life? Maybe not...
This is a story about three women who supposedly have perfect marriages. To the outsiders, they seem happy. However, things are not as they seem. Heather is the main character, and she is definitely interesting. She is fun, witty, and loves her children. Heather will do whatever it takes to keep her daughters happy. However, stuck in a miserable marriage, she can't help but think of the choices she has made in the past. Eventually, the three women are thrown into situations where they have to make some tough decisions.
The characters are well developed, and it's a story that makes you think. I questioned the choices that Heather was making at times, along with her two friends. But I suppose if you're stuck in a desperate situation, you end up doing desperate things. The ending was so great that I read the second book right afterwards. -
If you like Joanna Trollope, you’ll love Cheating To Survive
I won this book in a contest! Heather, Victoria and Catherine all work at the same hospital. On the surface, they have great partners, good careers and magazine perfect lives. In truth, they suffer from hideous bosses and appalling partners. When Heather begins an office flirtation, all the women start questioning their choices - with some interesting results! This is beautifully written, and has a solid plot and characters. I found it a tad depressing in places because it’s very real - people do make the most appalling choices in their life partners. However, it’s a great story and HEA. Recommended. -
Cheating to Survive (Fix it Or Get Out) is a well-written book about three women struggling with failing marriages and low self-esteem. As a woman I cringed as I recognized what many women go through at work and on the home front when there is no love or respect left. However, the three realize their lives have to change, and their longing for love and to be seen again lead them into affairs that lead to revelations and inevitable changes in their lives. The characters are well-drawn and it was easy to sympathize with their struggles. The writing flowed well and was easy to read. I did question one thing; why they put up with their vile boss for so long without confrontation?

Cheating to Survive was a new type of read for me. It wasn't what I'd expected. This is not your traditional romance story, but delivers an amazing read of another part of life many of us will encounter one way or another.
This is a story that will shock you, make you laugh and make you want to follow the ladies through until the end. A great read and one you will enjoy.
The characters could be you or me, any of us really and to follow their story brought about an awareness which many of us forget unless we're in that space in time. -
As a man, i was apprehensive about receiving this book and providing a fair review. I thought this can't be all that good. I am happy to say I was wrong. The author threaded a tremendous plot with characters so vivid that they came off the pages. Very impressed and highly recommend this novel and author. -
"Cheating to Survive" weaves the story of three co-workers and their seemingly perfect lives; however, beneath the surface, their lives are anything but ideal. The characters are believable and you find yourself rooting for them to make the best decisions possible. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A Journey Through Relationships & Marriages
Cheating to Survive gives readers an honest and at times sad glimpse into the marriage of three different women struggling to maintain a connection with their husbands. Ms. Ardigo does an excellent job of capturing the dynamic between husbands, wives and all the distractions in between. Excellent read. -
This was a fun book to read when I didn't want to have anything too heavy ---you know those times, right? Based around women who work together and their romantic escapades it is a good book to read when you just want an escape book. The writing was good and entertaining and it held my interest from start to finish.

Cheating to survive is a story of three women who are trying desperately to stay alive and connected. Marriages that are failing and jobs that are a horror put all three in a very bad place. Now, how to get out.

I love it! I don't know what's the real score once someone got a family, I mean how they joggle work and home. But this story seems true and gave me some insights on family life. Gotta finish book 2 before this year ends. :)

I fell in love with my characters in this book and was sad when it ended. I felt like i lost 3 friends. I hope you enjoy the book and would love any feedback you had for me. Enjoy the ride!
