Cupids Last Stand (The Cupid Chronicles, #4) Reviews

    Holy awesome! Review coming tomorrow!

Wowee!!! What a wild ride this latest and last installment. Tristan’s and Brady’s story was so totally different from the others in this series. Cupid’s Last Stand had a beautiful innocence about it that the other stories didn’t have. This story was definitely a fresh and beautiful story that I just couldn’t put down.

Tristan was left at the alter and now he’s heading down to a town he used to love that was destroyed by an earthquake to escape. There he runs into his old and first love Darby a girl he had thought he long forgot. Now they’re working side by side to help rebuild the town where they had one summer together. Tristan knows he shouldn’t get attached since he plans on leaving but he can’t deny the attraction between them and even after ten years he’s falling for her all over again.

Darby’s had a hard life and the one summer with Tristan was a ray of sunshine until he left and she never heard from him again. Seeing him again is like peeling off a scab from an open wound but he won’t stay away. He’s wanting into her life again and while she’s determined to keep her heart out of it this time.

Well I mean you know they end up together right? But seriously it is a bumpy ride getting there. Tristan feels like he isn’t worthy or capable of love since everyone seems to leave, starting with his father. He deals with that a lot in this story. Darby deals with the fact that Tristan isn’t the guy she thought.

I honestly thought this last installment was more YA than Adult fiction. Tristan and Darby’s love seemed so less jaded and fresher since it was the first love. It was cute and adorable and brilliant. I honestly wouldn’t have expected anything less from Shauna Allen’s books. I love her writing and her stories and how all the other stories were woven into this one. I am so sad this was the last book but it ended amazingly and I couldn’t have imagined it any other way.

All in all, I loved Cupid’s Last Stand. The characters were amazing and realistic and beautiful. The writing was fantastic as always and the story was original.

Once again Shauna Allen has kept me up way into the night reading because I simply could not put down this book. I was so caught up in this sweet, beautifully written, second chance love story of how Tristan and Darby, both with wounded, aching hearts find their way back to each other as adults after being separated as teenagers. CUPID'S LAST STAND is the fourth and last installment in The Cupid Chronicles series and I haven't had a chance to read all of the others yet, but I can assure you this one was a pleasure.

The story begins with an earthquake shaking up Darby and her quiet little Arizona town creating a need to tear down those old stubborn walls and build something new. Just like Darby needed to make some changes in her own life, take back control and get out from under the sorrow and grieving from her past. Tristan too was at a place for making a fresh start. He's been left at the altar which merely confirms to him his long held belief he is unlovable and anyone he cares about will eventually leave him when they realize this. When he hears of the extensive damage caused by the earthquake back in New Destiny, his heart (and the influence of a certain angel in the love detail) leads him to the small town to offer his help. New Destiny is where he first met Darby as a sixteen year old boy and fell completely in love.

When they meet again after ten years of each of them believing the other didn't care enough to keep the promises they made to each other, the fire and attraction between Tristan and Darby is just as strong as ever. At first they're angry and their wounded emotions get in the way, but circumstances and their intense desire for each other draw them together again and again until they finally talk things out. Discovering things weren't quite as they seemed helps in getting over the hurt of the past, but that is not the only thing between them. Darcy is committed to her life in New Destiny and Tristan is headed to California to fulfill his lifelong dream of owning his own motorcycle shop. Seems they are destined for a short, blissful time together only to be separated again.

Darby is a beautiful, strong woman focused on making a success of her family's a construction company. She carries on despite a chronic illness, an unsupportive mother, and still grieving the recent death of her father. There's so much to admire about her.

I have to say, Tristan was a such a hot, sexy, swoon-worthy hero, and not shy about his feelings for Darby. Not as a teenager and not as an adult. The letters he wrote to her when they were separated brought tears to my eyes. He lays it all on the line, only to get no reply...

As I said, I could not stop reading. I had to know how they worked it out. Had to know that Tristan could finally recognize he not only could be loved, deserved to be loved, but that he was loved. I had to know that Tristan realizes he's found something special with Darby that just may be a once in a lifetime thing. Twice. I had to know that he man's up! I knew it would happen, because Shauna Allen does not disappoint if you are looking for a love story that will make you laugh and touch your heart and leave you feeling like you've had your own HEA when the story is finished.

In Cupid's Last Stand she not only shares with us Tristan and Darby's love story, she also gives us a secondary story. Ryan, one of the friends Tristan brings along with him to work on rebuilding the town falls hard for Kai, Darby's best friend. Fortunately for Ryan Kai is just as smitten with him. Of course, they also had their troubles to overcome before they could be together, but that only added to the richness and enjoyment of this wonderful story as a whole. Loved this book! I recommend it to anyone with even just a tiny romantic bone in their body. 4.5 stars.

~Complimentary copy received in exchange for a honest review.

    Michael is back!!!

When the town of New Destiny is rocked by an earthquake, Tristan Blackfeather decides to gather his crew together and head there to help out with the rebuilding effort. As fate would have it, he comes face to face with the girl he fell head over heels in love with as a sixteen year old... and had to leave. Darby Deveraux was deeply hurt by Tristan's abandonment but now that he's returned, she can't deny that her feelings for him are even stronger than they were back then. Sparks between them fly, but can they make it work the second time around?

Oh, Tristan, Tristan... I alternated between wanting to hug him and the urge to shake him and yell "get it together!". He's a sweetheart but because of his abandonment issues (due to his biological father's rejection) he finds it hard to believe that he could be worthy of being loved. Naturally, his feelings for Darby terrify him because of his insecurities and he does his best to keep her at arm's length. Emotionally that is... on a physical level, his attraction to her is too much to resist. That's when the fun starts...

Darby was a strong woman and easy to like. For the sake of her late father, she does her best to keep his construction business running and she's never allowed diabetes to stop her from living. She was a perfect match for Tristan and their relationship was so passionate that I could feel every emotion they went through. Every. One.

"Over and over, he swore he was coming back for her, just like he'd promised that night in the motel room. Over and over, he asked her to write back. Eventually, he was practically begging, seeking reassurance of their relationship. Telling her how much he loved her. How much he missed her. What that summer meant to him. He'd laid it all out there for her. Letter after letter. Until they stopped."

Yep, I was sobbing in the fetal position by that point.

We also get the romance between Tristan's friend Ryan and Darby's bestie, Kai. It was incredibly sweet and endearing and I adored them together!

I only had one issue with the story - Michael was on his own this time. I loved the camaraderie between the Angels in the previous books so I really missed it. For me, it just wasn't quite the same without their shenanigans (Uriel behaving badly, anyone?)

Still, Shauna knows how to write a killer story and I wasn't left disappointed at all. I'm sad that we've come to the end of the series but rest assured that the Angels are going out with a bang.

I was provided a copy of this book by the Author for an honest review.

I just finish reading this book, and I love it, love the characters, and how the book turn out to be, this was such a sweet love story, love it I just found out that this is from a series, but it could be read as a standalone, after reading this one now I want to read the rest, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.

The story begging with Tristan, he is getting ready to get married, while he is at the altar, he start to notice that their is something missing, that something is wrong he just cant put his finger on it, when the bride started to walk towers him with her father, he notice that she was not looking at him at all, that's when she said that they needed to talk, once outside she told him that she did not wanted to married him, that night while being in his apartment drinking, that's what he saw the news about an earth quick In Arizona, he remember what was in the back of his head, one name pop up Darby, that's when he decide it that he was going to help out just to see her. After the place was the following morning, Darby got herself to where everyone was meeting, all Darby ever wanted was to get out of that town, but she got stuck their, and now she took over her fathers company, when she got to the place she notice new people and one of them was Tristan, she couldn't believe that she was seen him after ten years, will cupid do his magic and get this two find their way to each other.

I really love and enjoy reading this book, love the way how Tristan and Darby are with each other, and love the love that they have for one another, Author Shauna Allen THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome book and this wonderful characters love them.

Oh how I have loved this series!!! Regretfully, Cupid's Last Stand is to be the final installment. I guess it is true, all good things must come to an end. Who said that? If I knew, I would challenge a duel!

Seriously, this last installment was as sweet as the previous books and involved Tristan who we met as a teen in The Halo Efferct, (Book Two). Now Tristan has grown into a man and he still thinks of himself as broken, and very unworthy. I have read about so many women with low self esteem and how damaging it is to their hearts and souls, but I never gave a man with low self esteem much thought. What incredible insight.

Cupid's Last Stand was the story of Tristan Blackfeather's and Darby Devereaux's past and present love story. It all began when they were sixteen and now, they have been rung in for round two. And Michael, the angel, and head of God's Love Detail was back to stack the deck with love for the two of them. He had taken on a new physical body and was a little different than he had appeared previously. But he was still Michael through and through.

As always, with Shauna's writing, the story was tender, inciteful, heartwarming and gave the reader a warm and fuzzy feeling. It was delightful to see so many characters revisited throughout this last book...to catch up on their stories as well. The characters were real and the story hugged your heart and welcomed you in to share it.

I received this book as a ARC by the author for an honest review well first off let me say I regret that I haven't read the series in the Cupid Chronicles which I will do now.
In Cupid's Last Stand is bring Tristan Blackfeather and Darby Deveraux together again after being a part for a decade.
Darby home town has been hit by a earthquake and that's what brings Tristan back into her life once again to stir up past pain and heartbreak. It also brings Michael the Cupid Angel back with a new body to work his love magic with.

Darby always wanted to leave New Destiny but was held back by her Mother and taking over her Dad's business so she's not so happy anyway but can she take another painful affair with the handsome and bruiting Tristan, after he and his friends come to New Destiny to help rebuilt the town.

Will there be more than one couple for Michael to use his arrow on, you have to read this one and find out because I'm not giving it all away but let me add I hope you read the first two in this series which I will!
Shauna Allen hasn't disappointed me yet and I don't believe she will.

Sit back and enjoy Cupid's Last Stand and cry with me that we're having to say good bye to so many great character's!

After being left at the altar, Tristian Blackfeather is ready for a change. When he hears about the devastating earthquake in New Destiny, AZ, he knows that's where he needs to be. Darby Deveraux, is living in chaos. A contractor in New Destiny, she's overwhelmed by the amount of destruction her hometown is facing.

When Tristian and his friends arrive in New Destiny, one of the first people they run into is an older man, Michael (aka Cupid) who is also in town wanting to help with the rebuilding efforts. Michael is there to bring two lost loves back into each other's orbit to see if a second chance at love will do the trick this time around.

Darby and Tristian were lovers during one hot summer. When Tristian left, he promised he would write. Never hearing from, Darby assumed that Tristian ditched her, leaving her broken hearted. Darby never responded to his letters, leaving Tristian feeling once again as if he was not good enough to be loved.

Michael has his hands full, nudging two people who have been hurt - not only by each other, but by others - in the right direction - or should I say into a love connection.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait Shauna's next release.

Cupid’s Last Stand is the fourth book in The Cupid Chronicles series. If you haven’t read this series you are most definitely missing out! Shauna is a great writer and she really knows how to keep your attention. You will fall head over heels in love with her characters. I know I sure have.
I love that Michael has come back. His last job, Tristan and Darby, isn’t as easy as he thought it would be. Sure Tristan and Darby have a past with each other, but that was ten years ago. Poor Michael has his work cut out for him.
So many times I wanted to just shake Tristan and Darby! Just enough to get through all of the fears and doubts. Their characters are so loveable and I wanted nothing but the best for them. Sometimes the head just gets in the way of what the heart wants. But that is what makes a great romantic and sweet read. I laughed and I cried. I wanted to jump in the story a few times. By the end of the book I was heartbroken because this is the last of The Cupid Chronicles. Even though it’s the end, I couldn’t have written a better ending for the AA crew than this. Way to go Shauna! Excellent series!

WOW…How did I miss this series! This was the first book of the Cupid Chronicles that I have had a chance to read, but the last book in the series! I had seen Shauna Allen’s posts and excerpts on Release Day parties and thought her books looked interesting. Therefore, I have added every one of the books to my TBR List. I was honored to be asked to review Cupid’s Last Stand and received an ARC! Believe me it was an honor! The characters are well written and entertaining. This may sound strange, but I honestly love the way the hero in the story deals with Diabetes. No, I do not like people being ill, but everyday people struggle with health issues, and it was nice to see that in a book. For me it made the character real so that anyone would be able relate to the struggles they face as well as celebrate the joy they find throughout the book. Michael is a Godsend…literally! This book was a quick read for me, as I did not want to put it down, I had to find out what happened next. I truly recommend this book…no this series to everyone!

This is the first book in Shauna Allen's Cupid Chronicle's Series that I have read. I was able to read this as a Stand Alone book with no problems, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to go back and read the 3 previous books! I will definitely be reading them. Darby and Tristan have a history from when they were younger. Tristan's feelings of unworthiness and Darby's lack of trust that Tristan won't stick around this time, only to break her heart again makes for a page turning, can't put the book down read. Also in the Story is Michael, their Guardian Angel/Cupid you will be rooting him on to succeed and they are not going to make it easy. Your mantra will be this couple deserves to be together, make it happen!

  • Staci

I loved this book! Tristan is definitely a character that sticks with you throughout the Cupid Chronicles books. I am so very glad that the last book in this series is his. I loved his and Darby's story. First love reunited has always been a favorite storyline of mine. I hope my own guardian angel takes as good care of me as Michael does of his charges. I will now have to go back and reread all of these books. The only bad thing about this book is it is the last one in this series with these angels and charges!

Shauna is one of my favorite authors, she shows in “Cupid's Last Stand” how she has earned her place there with a touching loving story of love found, love lost, trying to get over love and finding there is no way out. Shauna character will touch your heart and bring tears to your soul. She is one of the few authors that can bring you to tears and make you laugh, sometimes all at the same time.

Darby and Tristan have a history from when they were younger in their teens. They fell in love just to have it ripped from them by her father. Promised not kept, or were they? Two teens growing up getting over lost love trying to move on. Neither can forget the other and in ways it is holding them back from finding another to love.

Darby has grown into a beautiful women held in one place by the death of her father, she must take care of her mother who isn’t the sweetest women at any given time. She does her duty but hates it, she has always wanted to get out of town and live her life. Everything changes when there is an earthquake that brings back the boy from her past. She wants nothing to do with him and his un-kept promises, no way is she going down that road again. The attraction is just too strong, now she must decide if she can live the hurt all over again, if she can have an affair and let him walk away. Is it worth it, it just about killed her last time can she live through it again?

Tristan has so much hurt, pain and his feelings of unworthiness go as far back to his father walking out on him. He just feels he has nothing to give and no one who wants it. He just lost what was supposed to be the most important women in his life years ago and again with another, which again shows him how worthless he is. He sees on the news there is an earthquake in New Destiny, memories come back to another time, another place. He has a pull to go help and maybe find out about his first love. Once there he is confused as to why Darby feels the way she does. He doesn’t understand why she is so mad at him it’s like she hates him. For the life of himself he doesn’t know why but he will get to the bottom of this he isn’t done with Darby by a long shot. Will he ever get over his feeling of worthless, can he open his heart long enough to find true happiness?

There is so much passion, attraction, pain between Darby and Tristan they can’t seem to find their way. Angel Michael (Cupid’s Angel) comes back to give a helping hand but finds he has his work cut out for him. For every two steps forwards they take one step back, it’s enough to drive an angel crazy. Michael is a wonderful character that you will love, he pulls you right in to this wonderful story.

Not only do you get the story of Darby and Tristan but the author gives you another wonderful touching love story of Kai and Ryan and their fight to find love.

This is a book you will not be able to put down, we lose wonderful characters and find others. To see love begin only to have it end, with one chance to right the wrongs and build not only a town but a love like no other love, one that has out lived time.

This love is built on one promise: He swore he would write and come back for her, she promise she would be waiting…..Neither happen or did it?

"I love you…I miss you…I’ll come back for you, I swear. Over and over, he swore he was coming back for her, just like he'd promised that night in the motel room. Over and over, he asked her to write back. Eventually, he was practically begging, seeking reassurance of their relationship. Telling her how much he loved her. How much he missed her. What that summer meant to him. He'd laid it all out there for her. Letter after letter. Until they stopped."

You will fall in love with the author’s characters as the author spins a tale of a town trying to put itself back together and the people trying to keep their hearts from being broken why falling in love all over again. Each has to get over their abandonment issues or will this be Cupids last stand? This author will leave you heartbroken over their past, now and possible future while leaving you in tears and giving you smiles, hopes and dreams could this be the end, can Michael pull these lost hearts back together mending the past and giving a brighter future?

Shauna proves once again she is a writer that goes straight for your heart. I highly recommend this read for anyone who loves bad boys, tattoos, romance with a touch of wit that will bring you to tears while making you smile. One taste of Shauna writing you will be hooked for life, she won’t leave you disappointed. Come let Shauna take you on a heart stopping, soul searching ride of Cupid's Last Stand.

In Cupid's Last Stand (The Cupid Chronicles #4) by Shauna Allen, after getting dumped at the altar by someone he wasn't even sure he should be marrying, Tristan decides to start fresh, his goal living in California running his own business. Before he goes there though, he ends up in New Destiny, Arizona...drawn there by memories and a need to help after a disastrous earthquake.

He is not expecting to run into Darby, the woman he knew as a 16 year old one summer. The woman who lost her heart to him at the age of 16 then was heartbroken when he left and never came back for her. After the death of her father, Darby's dreams were put aside and she is now running the family business. She does not expect to ever see Tristan in New Destiny, and now that he's there she wants nothing to do with him. Tristan can't understand why. He just know that seeing her again makes him feel things he didn't expect to feel. Darby will deny feeling the same, she'll deny the attraction and chemistry...but it is unavoidable.

The pull between Tristan and Darby is magnetic and with a little help from Cupid's angel Michael, can they have another chance at love, this time as grown ups? Or will it be a temporary fling that will leave Darby broken hearted again when Tristan moves on?

The POV's from both Tristan and Darby really made you more in tune with the characters, finding out what motivated them, and gave you deeper insight into them. I liked that Darby had some real life, relatable issues. She was strong and doing her best to do what was right, but I found her hard to relate to because of the bitterness and grudge she still held from her teenage years. I found Tristan made his way into my heart faster. I felt I could better understand where he was coming from. He has issues that stem from childhood that hold him back, make him feel unworthy and insecure. Both characters really grew and developed throughout Cupid's Last Stand as they opened up more to each other. But it still might not be enough to have them trusting in a future together.

Michael, the angel, is a strong character also. I loved him, he brought a lot of humor and light to an emotional story. Even as an angel in a human body, he was easy to like and Shauna made him real. There are a lot of great secondary characters in Cupid's Last Stand, and they all add their own special something.

Shauna really hooked me from the start of Cupid's Last Stand and kept me immersed in the story, right there with the characters right to the last word. I love the whole concept of The Cupid Chronicles, and how Shauna smoothly brings in a very spiritual concept in such a realistic way, with no preaching or judging, which I felt made every book in this series ones that will touch your heart and have you believing in angels if you don't already.

Well written and easy flowing, Shauna weaves humor with deep emotions to make Cupid's Last Stand a book that shows sometimes it's best to trust in love and your heart. Cupid's Last Stand will have your heart feeling a bit lighter and hopeful. Cupid's Last Stand can definitely be read as a stand alone, but you'll want to read the other books in this series also. I highly recommend Cupid's Last Stand to all romance readers.

Wonderfully sweet second chance love story.

Tristan and Darby met and fell in love as teenagers when he was spending the summer in New Destiny. Darby wanted to get out of New Destiny, and Tristan promised he would come back for her when he was done with high school. Of course, as many stories go, he did not keep his promise. Fast forward ten years later and Tristan is left standing at the alter on his wedding day. Feeling like he needs make a fresh start, Tristan decides to move from Texas to California and start his own bike shop. But fate, or should I say Cupid, has other plans for him.

Darby's home town of New Destiny has experienced an earthquake that has damaged most of the town. They are in need of volunteers to help rebuild. Tristan happens to be watching to television reports and recognizes Darby. He decides to stop by on his way to California to lend a helping hand. Darby never expected to see Tristan again, especially not not as part of a construction crew helping to rebuild her town. Darby never left New Destiny, and took over her father's construction company when he passed away. Now she must work with Tristan on a daily basis.

Cupid, known as Michael, has come back to help Tristan and Darby. He first met Tristan when he was a kid and knew he would the one to help Tristan overcome his issues and in order to be with Darby. With Michael's help, Tristan and Darby are thrown together to work on the same projects. Try as they might, they cannot deny their chemistry or feelings. Tristan still has plans to move on to California. Will Darby survive losing Tristan again? Can Tristan trust that he is enough for Darby?

Great ending to the series, it was nice to see Michael helping his previous charges son as well as catching up with previous couples. This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend that if you decide to read the other books in the series, those should be read in order.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

What a sweet love story. If you love a good love story where two teens fall in love over a summer and reconnect some years later? Then this is the book for you.

After ten years of getting over Tristan, Darby's world is tilted on its axel when he shows up as part of a repair crew after an earthquake rocks her small town. I loved how you could feel the love and stubbornness between them both. Darby for not wanting to fall for him again and Tristan for believing he doesn't deserve her after being left at the altar.

They slowly rebuild their friendship which leads to more, but again Tristan's personal issues sneak into his head and heart.
Darby knows what she wants but knows Tristan won't give her more so she ends it all.

Little did they both know that they had a little Angel Cupid watching over their every move, which I really liked, Michael was weirdly sweet. Bless him.

I did really like that after ten years apart that Tristan and Darby got their happy ever after.

Michael is coming back to do one more cupid mission. Tristan and Darby have been in cupid's radar their first time around, but for those two teenage lovebirds in just wasn't in the cards. Fate has now decided they need to be in each others path again. A earthquake sends Tristan and his crew to help the little town rebuild. That's where all the fun begins because Darby and her crew are helping the rebuild as well. Sparks start flying between the two, but the past has Darby on alert for she doesn't want her heart broken again. Poor Tristan believes that he wasn't meant for love. Watch as Michael weaves his magic to bring these two to find love that's meant for a lifetime. I also enjoyed the romance between the secondary characters Kai and Ryan. Another great book by Shauna! If haven't read her Cupid Chronicles series no better time then now because you can read all of he right kin a row1 I highly recommend this series!

Another hit for Shauna Allen. I am really sorry to see this series come to an end. But you never know there could be a Cupid series re-birth with the children of the main characters from this series. I've loved this series from the first book Inked by an Angel. It was great to see Tristan get his HEA since we first saw him as a troubled little boy with self-esteem issues. It was obvious though that his soul-mate Darby had her own self esteem issues to deal with. As with the previous book it would have been nice to have a bit more of a connection to the characters from the other books, but what we got was a good epilogue to those books, and the way it was written made it so that you really didn't have to read the other books to pick this one up.

This was a good read. I was a bit confused when the Cupid part became a reality, but I got over it really quick. For the most part this was a straight forward romance, with a side of romance for a separate couple. I liked that Tristan and Darby got a second chance. I loved that Tristan realized that he never was able to open up again because of two people, and when he realized it, he went for what he really wanted; Darby. Darby on her part, was determined not to let Tristan back into her life only for him to wreck it again. That determination got wore down, quickly. My favorite part was the picnic and the egg toss and what came after that part. That and the end. I'm going to have to go back and read Shauna's earlier work, because I really enjoyed myself with this book.

  • Linda Rimer-Como

Last book in the Cupid Chronicle series and Shauna Allen did not disappoint. Laughter, hurt and love weave thru this story beautifully, and the characters have great detail and interactions. There is also plenty of emotion and attraction between Tristan and Darby as they deal with resurfacing feelings from their youth. Is it possible for two wounded souls to reconnect and find love again? Maybe with Cupid's help!! Great read from a remarkably talented lady.

    Received copy for review.

I'm sad this series is over, but what a great way to end it. I have loved all the Cupid Chronicles books since I read the very first line of Inked by an Angel, and I think this book is the best one of the bunch. Darby and Tristan are two flawed but strong people who fell in love at the tender age of 16, but lost each other because of circumstances beyond their control. Ten years later they still love each other, but misunderstandings and painful insecurities stand in the way of their happily ever after. They just need a little divine intervention, and Michael is just the angel for the job. Like all the other books in the series, parts of this one made me laugh and parts made me cry. Some parts just made me sigh with delight. Shauna Allen is an excellent writer. When the story ends I always struggle with what to read next to fill that void until her next book comes out.

Michael has one last job. Tristan and Darby. With them having a history together,he thinks it will be easy. What he hadn't planned on was the bitterness Darby has, or the unworthiness Tristan feels. With their past clouding her judgement, Darby doesn't want to give Tristan another chance. She barely lived thru the first heartbreak. Tristan thinks she didn't want him all those years ago. But he wants her and he's not going to stop until he has her. Telling her it will be temporary is all he can give her. Darby can't deny the passion between them and goes in with her eyes wide open. But she realizes she never stopped loving Tristan. With plans to go to California, Tristan is afraid to say he loves Darby and knows he isn't worthy of her. Can cupid make his last stand and show Tristan what is in his heart? Will Tristan nd Darby take this second chance and make it forever? This book had me on an emotional roller coaster. Highs and lows, laughing and crying. It was simply amazing!!

16 year olds, Tristan and Darby promised to write each other and call when they can and keep in touch because Tristan's family were moving out of town. 10 years later, both of them have broken hearts from unkept promises. Michael, the Cupid Angel, has been assigned the task of bringing these two broken, stubborn hearts back together. An earthquake in Darby's town brought Tristan back to her, but can their love be rekindled, or will Michael fail at his assignment? And what really happened to break the promises of two teenage lovers? Find out in Shauna Allen's latest edition of the Cupid Chronicles series.

This book was so good. I read it all in one sitting. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series now, though this could have been a stand alone book. Five high stars for Cupid's Last Stand!

I know I already did a review on this book but somehow it has disappeared. This was my first book in the Angel series and I just loved it! I will have to go back and read the other books. Tristen was jilted at the altar and decides to go to Arizona. He goes to New Destiny a small town that was hit by an earthquake to help out. He runs into Darby who he had a thing with years ago. Can Michael the angel help them get past their past so they can move forward with their lives? Read the book today to find out. You will not be sorry. I am sorry to find out this is the last book in the series.
