reviews. More to come. To be frank I was a little disappointed, I absolutely loved the first book and the short spin off but this just seemed rushed and haphazard.
The plot line was way to complicated and came out all at once rather than a slow discovery.
Also I found so many flaws in the general plot which I won't mention because everyone hates Spoilers.
The love triangle between Charlotte, Liam and Aaron felt forced and was also really rushed and unnecessary.
It wasn't rounded off at the end very clearly and I kind of had to make my own decision about who she chose.
The plots ending also felt quite rushed as everything was crammed into the last few chapters.
Overall I gave it three because despite the clear flaws I love her writing style and I loved getting more of the characters I had grown to love.
i would rather she had written a longer spin off than that story, this series definitely should have stopped after the first book and its spin off.
What I liked: I liked this one a more than I liked the first one, it had more depth and growth for the characters than the first book.
We learn more about the world this takes place in and how things came to be as they are.
Things read a lot better in this one, and it felt more engaging than the first one did and I like the inclusion of more mythology because it made things a little more interesting than I was expecting.
It was also less predictable than the first book was, which made it a better read because it had surprises of its own.
What I didnt like: Liam was a difficult character in the beginning to try and connect with, he seemed to swing back and forth between moods rather quickly and I didnt understand why.
It was rather strange and there were some parts that felt a bit forced and some parts that felt more like subtle hints that didnt seem to follow through.
Overall : I definitely found this a more enjoyable read than the first book, and while I had problems with the beginning and a few other parts included in the book, I felt the pacing was done rather well and that there was tension in some of the right places.
It gave us more background information to go off of and also introduced characters whos intentions I was not always sure about, though it became clearer the further I read.
Recommend: If you made your way through book one and would like to see what happens to Charlotte and Liam next then you should certainly pick this book up! As if in slow motion, the world spun.
The front fender of the truck slammed into us from behind, and everything lurched forward, Bags, arms, clothes, sailed by my head, The muffled sound of screams were lost somewhere in a tumultuous roar as the van hit a pothole, and we began to roll.
Cold metal crushed in on me, and the splintering sound of gunshots echoed in my ears, . . I received this book from YA Bound Book Tours in return for a fair and honest review.
This book continues with Charlotte's story several months down the line, Aaron is now with the Pack, as is Ty and although Ty is accepted, Aaron is still mistrusted.
Liam and Charlotte act differently to how they do in Caged Moon but then I guess running for your life will do that.
I found it a shame though because their connection didn't seem as strong as in the first book.
Liam is having mood swings to make you dizzy and Charlotte seems, if anything, more uncomfortable with who or what she is than she did in the first book.
You still don't hear much about the other members of the pack, apart from Steve, so you don't really feel any connection with them.
The explanation given about the wolves/hunters was a good one and it was good to see it play out.
There is almost constant tension and stress in this book so it moves along at a fairly fast pace.
The whole AaronCharlotteLiam triangle seemed a bit convenient to me and I actually felt like it let the book down slightly.
I did love the twists that came towards the end though and read that part all in one go there was no way I was going to finish it later I needed to finish it now! If there was something missing from the story, it would be that I never felt like anything was resolved between Liam and Charlotte or Byron and Ty.
It's like that part of the story got dropped and was never picked back up again,
On the whole, I have really enjoyed this duo both Caged Moon and Lunar Passing.
I'm not sure if there is another book in this series although the ending is left wide open for one.
If there is, I will read it to see what happens next, WTH!!!!! THIS WAS A WILD RIDE, I REALLY LIKE LIAM BUT NOW I FIND MYSELF LIKING AARON NOW!!!!!UGHHH!!!! SO WHO IS GOING TO BE MATED TO CHARLOTTE.
THIS IS SO CONFUSING AND WHY IS SHE BLEEDING FROM THE NOSE SO MUCH, . AGAIN SO MANY UNANSWER QUESTIONS!!!!!! OVERALL THIS WAS A GOOD READ THAT HOOKED ME FROM START TO FINISH!!! Not as good as thest book.
Did not like the way it ended, I feel like there is still many questions need to be asked and also answered, Lunar Passing is now AVAILABLE on Amazon!! : freaky
This was one freaky good book! I loved it so action packed and with strange happenings! I givestars.
Imagine going years without knowing anything is out of the ordinary with having feelings that something is following you, when it turns out true, yup this is that story.
The story line is a good and different one from others but not gonna give away anything.
So read it for yourself Wow, This truly was one of the best paranormal romance books I have EVER read, It picks up a ways down the line from the end of the first book explores an entirely new story than Caged Moon, because of this I almost felt that it read a bit like a film sequel which isn't a bad thing at all, with each book being a self contained story, however along with creating an entirely new story this book did what every sequel should do, but very few in this genre actually succeed in: it deepened the mythology.
I don't mean that it was a book about werewolves and suddenly vampires appear the book still remains solely about werewolves but we learn so much more about the origin of the species and the universe this book inhabits.
I find that so many paranormal romances become incredibly uninteresting after the first book I much more frequently move on to a new series than read a sequel because there is nothing new, the romance continues without changing, and the mythology is left right were it was without any real elaboration but Lunar Passing evolved flawlessly adding new depth to the universe AND creating a great story.
The actual plot of this book was really nice as well, relationships evolved and the story moved in a really interesting and unpredictable way.
I can usually predict how books in the PNR genre will end, but Lunar Passing really kept me guessing and I couldn't put it down I may have stayed up untilAM finishing it last night.
. . oops. All in all the dialog flowed, the plot was engaging and the mythology and characters both evolved in really great ways.
It's safe to say that I highly recommend reading this series and helping out a self published author who should be WAY more popular than she is As a side note I commented on this book a few months back asking when it would be coming out and I loved that the author took the time to personally reply to my comment, I love when authors engage with their fans.
I cannot wait for the third book, and I will definitely look forward to whatever Rachel Deagan writes in the future.
Actual rating.I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review,
Lunar Passing is book two of the Caged Moon Series, As Charlotte comes to terms with her new powers, she and her pack are on the run.
Tensions run high as Liam struggles to keep his pack safe, His twin brother, Aaron, although acknowledges Liam as Alpha feels that Liam is weak because instead of fighting, they run.
Now theyve been in a car accident and a stranger, Layla, has taken them in, What is Layla hiding Who is she really
This was a fast paced, edge of your seat kind of novel.
You felt Charlottes inner struggle as she tries to accept Aaron as her best friends boyfriend, Theres jealousy among the brothers as well as distrust, I wasnt too into the character Ty, she seemed a bit needy and always making excuses for Aarons behavior.
The descriptions of the area were detailed in such a way that you can picture everything with your minds eye.
I hope theres a book three and that Ty and Byron really do get together, they seem to be a
better fit.
This was a fantastic paranormal romance, with Demigods too!
I just finished reading this and wow! I waited so long for this book and I really hope there is another.
The book was well written and kept me glued to the pages, Highly recommend!.but I always round up, After waiting so long for this book I admit to being a bit disappointed, It just felt like it lacked something, It just didn't stand up to the others in the series, I don't think this book is actually coming out, I'm just gonna shelve it indefinitely,
I have mixed feelings here, We did receive explanation into things, like Charlotte's ability and more information on the hunters, A plus is that the story wasn't dragged out into a third book, I don't think. It was hard to tell if the ending was a cliffhanger or not There was just something missing.
The whole Aaron/Charlotte situation felt forced and thrown in to add conflict but it never did.
You never get true verification that she is Liam's true mate, at least I never felt that way reading it.
Plus, did Byron and Ty end up as anything It was suggested slightly, but never mentioned again.
I think I left the book more confused, I wanted more. I was so excited that this book finally came out, But
In the beginning, I felt disconnected to a couple of the characters who I loved in Caged Moon.
Liam didn't feel like Liam, I'm not sure what is was, maybe his ever constant mood swings, Charlotte didn't feel as confident or snarky anymore either, I just don't know
Now when the action started in the book, I couldn't put it down, There was so much tragedy, There were so many near death experiences, even a few death experiences, Some new characters were revealed which answered some questions from book one.
There was so much tension,
If you loved Caged Moon, you will be mad at yourself if you don't read this one.
I'm not sure if there will be a sequel to this one or not, The ending leaves somewhat of an opening for more, I'll read it if there is more to this series to see where it takes everyone, Rachel grew up in small town Massachusetts where she spent most of her time writing about strange paranormal creatures instead of paying attention in class.
She has always been considered the dreamy one with her head in the clouds, She now lives in Nevada with her two sons, a cat, and a rat named Sam, .
