Looking for a feel good, romance story Caliente by Melissa Hale is the perfect book about two normal, realistic people falling in love.
Is it a quick love Yes, but that is ok, After all, we read fiction for the fantasy of true love,
This book is filled with laughter and some intimate moments, While Callie is full of doubt about love and marriage, Trey shows her not all couples end in divorce much like her mother's five marriages.
Callie learns how to trust and let others into her life, She overcomes the need to please everyone but herself, Trey teaches her the importance of making herself happy, which in turn allows her to fall in love with him,
This is a great contemporary romance story, I did enjoy Trey Cain's family and the large family dynamic, especially since Callie is an only child,
However, I do wish the ending wasn't so rushed, Maybe that is personal, since I hate to see couples go, I always want to know more about their lives!
Overall, Melissa Hale did a great job with what I hope is the first in a series about the Cain brothers.
I was given an ARC by the author for a true and honest review I really enjoyed this story,
Callie doesn't believe in love, When she keeps seeing Trey she starts to go weak at the knees just looking at him, However she really believed that a guy like him wouldn't want her, Can Trey break down them barriers and show Callie how good they can be together
This is a really good romantic story.
Loved the secondary characters. Treys brothers are brilliant and would love to read more about them, Love, love, love Callie!!!!
Love, love, love Callie!!!!
I was in love with Trey by thechapter.
This story was hotpun intended, Impatiently waitin for bk. I will reread many times, If you are looking for a sweet romantic book with a great guy who has alot of family and alot of brothers than this is the book for you.
Caliente is about having doubts when it comes to love, Finding, keeping and falling in love kind of doubts and that is what Callie the main character in this book is all about.
Not beliving in the power of love,
Trey the hero in the book is the exact opposite in his beliefs about love, Trey shows Callie that love really can exist if it's with the right person at the right time pushing all of Callie's doubts away from her mind and love into her heart.
Callie and Trey dont necessarily get off on the right foot especially when she walks into HER kitchen to see HIM drinking milk from her refrigerator straight from the container.
Callie wants nothing more than to forget the hot stranger she found in her kitchen, but Trey has no desire to let her walk away.
He is smitten from the start and intends to do something about it,
Once they get over their awkward encounter, Trey and Callie find they have quite a bit of chemistry, but not a lot of honestly.
Trey stretches a few truths to try and endear himself more to Callie, for example, he buys an entire case of the hot sauce she makes, but he hates spicy foods.
Not being upfront with each other puts a kink in their relationship, Can Callie and Trey work through their differences to have their happily ever after
I felt like this book had tons of potential, but just not enough execution.
There was too many story lines going on at once the mean, but maybe not mother who was a serial bride, the chef who stole her recipes than attacked her, the cooking show It was just seemed like too many stories started and not finished.
I wish the time was spent more in developing Trey and Callies relationship, Even after finishing the book, I really dont know much about them at all, Treys huge family was a nice touch, and I can envision more stories coming from them, An additional one hundred pages might have helped his book along, In the end, it just fell a bit flat for me,
stars
Callie and Trey have a story that will spice up even the most mild of readers, They show that not always do you have to start with a bed,
They develop a friendship that has heat, They enjoy their time with each other even if they try and fan the flames, Most women know a mans way to their heart is through their stomach, Callie loves to cook and is very timid compared to her sauce, But Trey isn't about to let it burn him, he is very persistent, When lust becomes love they enjoy the journey and the flavors as they go, Caliente. This book was kind of tame and sweet but it's about her business and how they live together for a bit because she needs a place to do her cooking show.
She falls in love with him and his family, But she's scared to commit, Trey tries to make her happy because he falls in love too, I got this for free quite a while back, I decided to include it in part of a challenge to tackle old TBR entries, I'm glad I read it, and I may check out more in the series, One thing that would hold me back from that: this is in serious need of an editor, But, on the positive side, the story was compelling enough for me to want to keep on and see what happens, And I'm glad I did, It was a really cute story of a girl with commitment issues and a boy who never really got into the dating game.
Callie's issues come naturally: her mother has been married and divorced so many times, and she just doesn't put too much effort into the whole marriage thing.
Not helping things is that Callie's on the curvier side and her mother is constantly trying to get her to diet, Add to that her mother's lack of enthusiasm for Callie working for herself mail order hot sauce, and Callie has some self worth issues.
For his part, Trey comes from a big family, but he stuttered when he was younger, so he wasn't the most social guy.
He didn't date much, mostly because he just wasn't interested in the girls that wanted to date him, but when he accidentally enters Callie's townhome to down some milk instead of his aunt's, he can't get Callie out of his mind.
Trey, who thinks ketchup is too spicy, orders hot sauce from Callie, just to spend more time with her, He lets her cook him meals, which are sometimes spicy, without complaint, When she finds out he doesn't like spicy stuff and overhears him getting bad relationship advice from his Casanova brother, she thinks he's just been leading her on to get in her pants.
Thankfully, he's able to convince her that's not the case, But things get complicated when he fibs that he's her fiance when they have to go to the hospital and even more complicated when she moves in with him.
I loved Trey, I thought he was so sweet and I loved that he was completely oblivious to playing games in relationships, I loved that he was mostly honest with her, and he laid his heart on the line when he needed to, For her part, I liked that Callie tried really hard to ignore her mom and live her life, I didn't like that she tended to jump to conclusions, but at the same time, I could see why her mind would go that way.
It all ended in a really cute way, and there are lots more Cain brothers to hook up, so the series could be interesting.
Callie Miller is not looking for love, She doesnt believe in happily ever after, She believes in working hard to make her new business a success, When Trey stumbles into her kitchen by mistake he becomes the stray she cant get rid of, The incredibly sexy, incredibly sweet stray,
The minute he lays eyes on Callie, Trey is sure shes the one for him, Convincing her is not so easy, He is determined to integrate her into his life so when the opportunity to help her grow her business presents its self he jumps on it.
Can Trey convince Callie to believe in love or will she follow through on her plans to leave
