on Enslaved by the Viking (Viking Warriors #1)

is a fairly new genre for me, so I dont know how standard this sort of structure is, but it felt really messy to me.
There wasnt a clear emotional throughline it could have done with a tighter edit, as the characters emotions flipflopped drastically, sometimes from love to hate to love in a single page.

Though I was pleasantly surprised to find a male romantic hero who is SPOILER the survivor of a gang rape.
I mean, it is glossed over very easily, but still, its interesting to have such deep trauma even mentioned, The happilyeverafter was utterly unrealistic historically speaking, but hey, its a romance, Jai beau savoir que lesclavage était monnaie courante a lépoque où se situe lhistoire et surtout chez les vikings, jai du mal.

Loved this heroine! The Viking world was really well drawn and totally compelling, Basura! The title alone is the reason I wanted to read this, Kidnapped by a viking How can one apply for this wink Unfortunately, this book didn't work for me, Eirik is the son of the jarl the head dude and:

He had amassed a fortune raiding and trading while leading

his men to victories in the lands south of the North Sea.
He would one day be called jarl in place of his father, When the day came that he, too, went to take his place in Asgard, the skalds would write verses of his heroic deeds.

This sounds great, but I never got a grasp on Eirik as this viking, I wanted to see him cutthroat, I wanted to see him badass, Instead it's a lot of telling and not showing and I think that hurt the development of his character, Eirik has never taken a woman hostage before, but when he sees Merewyn on a scouting trip, he has the overwhelming thought to take her for his own.
The next day he sets out to find her,

The need to find her pressed tight on his chest and threatened to squeeze the air from his lungs.
It was madness, sheer and utter madness, Eirik recognised it and kept a tight rein on it, refusing to give up control,

This could have been super romantic and over the top fun, but instead it fell flat for me.
Merewyn doesn't have the best life in her village, but she also doesn't want to be a slave, When her town trades her to Eirik so they can keep their grain, she is terrified of going with this stranger to far off lands.

Eirik starts calling her his slave right away people assume Merewyn is his bed slave, but Eirik doesn't want to harm her or force her to do something she isn't ready for so instead he just orders her around.
Calling her "slave" felt off to me in the context of this book, Merewyn whimpers and is jumpy in the background for a lot of the book, Nothing really fun happens! I wanted Eirik to have a sense of humor or to be really surly or something! He just didn't have enough personality.
And with Merewyn so meek, there wasn't a lot to engage me,

Gotta say pass on this one,

Rating: D I really enjoyed this one! The romance was sweet and it even had a twist that I didn't see coming.
Lectura amena y entretenida.

I'm watching the series Vikings, so I wanted to read my first viking novel, too, Nothing special and probably I will not remember it but I really enjoyed it!! Viking Reminded me of my another favorites sitelinkNeil.
When I completed this Viking's story, I read that Viking's story too,

So. This was a buddy read with Aksa,

You wont be harmed in my care, From this day forward, you are mine,

Eirik, a Dane and son of a Jarl, who soon is to be a leader, on one of his raids watches Merewyn dancing on the beach.
From the moment he sees her, he is drawn to her, When Merewyn's sisterinlaw gives her away, Eirik takes her away as a slave, When they spend time together, they both get to know each other, However, Eirik can't stop thinking about her and his feelings about her are growing, Also, Merewyn is also confused about him, She wants to go back, but at the same time she can't enough of her captor, However, to become a leader, Eirik have to marry, but he can't marry a slave, How will he protect her How will he deal his relationship with his slave Will Merewyn stay as a slave forever

Such a beautiful story! Based onA.
D. , a time when Vikings were a real thing, this story deals with some heavy subjects, but the author did a wonderful job in presenting them and telling a fascinating story.
I loved how Eirik redeemed himself and his love in the end, I was worrying from the chapterabout how their story would end and I must say the ending made me very happy and satisfied!

Looking forward to read Gunnar's story next! I loved this book! A beautifully evocative setting filled with engaging, intriguing characters.
The tension between Eirik and Merewyn is enticing, and their chemistry practically leaps off the page, Lush, sensual, and wildly entertaining, I can't wait to read more from this author! sitelink blogspot. c

WOW, what a fantastic start to this series!

Eirik is a Dane warrior and the son of the jarl Hegard.
He has lead his men on countless victories and collected a fortune from raids and trading, One day he will take his fathers place as leader,

Merewyn is a Saxon maiden, the sister to the Lord of Wexbrough Manor in Northumbria, One morning while taking her daily stroll along the beach she spots the enemy Northmen in ships coming toward her

From the moment Eirik sees Marewyn on the beach hes drawn to her.
So when they raid Wexbrough Manor he ends up taking her home as his personal slave, Eirik is a tortured soul who is marred by an experience from his past, He knows he must eventually marry if he is to become Jarl some day, But he struggles with the growing feelings he has for Marewyn his slave and the promise he made to keep her safe.
Both Eirik and Marewyn struggle to fight the pull that seems to drive them towards each other, It was evident that both Eirik and Marewyn were good people caught up in a situation that felt at times that it was hopeless.
This story dealt with some heavy subjects, but author Harper St, George did a wonderful job in dealing with them and telling a fascinating story that I really couldnt put down.
I actually finished it in one day I was so caught up in the storyline, This was a beautifully written story of a couple who overcame extreme circumstances to find love, With intriguing secondary characters that I hope to see more of in the coming series, I would definitely recommend this book!.
